You’re exactly right about the Stanley utility knife. I have a ton of money invested in different “leather” knives. Still use a utility knife or xacto or scalpel 99.9% of the time.

What weight leather do you use for a belt?
I tool on 8/9 and line them with 3/4oz

Do you cutting them exactly 1.5" wide or slightly thinner? I've had issues with buckles being exactly 1.5" wide which doesn't work with 1.5" wide belt
I cut them right at 1.5
cutting the hide at 53 really helps.
