  • Hey guys!!
In this video I show how to change your speed and power settings within the ruida 6442 controller itsel,
Great if you run your machine via the u-disk rather than connecting the pc or laptop to the machine!!
Let me know what you guys think or if you have any suggestions, as always any feedback is welcomed!
    Thanks for watching,
    Cheers, Matt

Hey! As far as I know your laser has 70x50cm workspace. Can you actually use it fully or it is a bit smaller (like 68x48cm or something like that)?

@@woodendayzMy machine is being delivered at the moment. Wanted to order and cut up some sheets before it arrives. Helped a lot, thank you!

If you plan to use ALL of your available work area for certain jobs, I suggest you cut your material to 720 x 520. The table will accomodate the larger sheet but the head will only move around the 700x500 and you will need a little bit of waste around the edges

Another amazing video, I've learned so much! Where did you find the recommended speed & power settings for this machine?

I realize that the aim of this video was to illustrate the on-machine editing capability of your program and I an not in any way criticising that intention because you have done a great demonstration.
However, as part of that demonstration you have used engraving colour as a way of proving parameter changes. Look at your results carefully and you will see that you are not really changing colour but instead changing engraving DEPTH. You are seeing colour change for a different reason. Changes to power and speed change the width of the scan lines. It is the OVERLAPPING lines that are creating the illusion of darker/lighter colours. If you adjust the scan interval with the same power and speed you will get the coulur change you witnessed. Sadly, you cannot edit the line spacing on the machine, that has to be done in your program. A full explanation of how neither speed or power changes colour can be found here. It is a myth that most people believe in.

As a seperate issue, I note your screen display is a mirror of what you actually engrave. There are two possible reasons for this.
    1) Your RDWorks or Lightburn has the 0,0 point in the wrong corner. If the machine starts and the head runs to the back left corner the arrows at the corner of your RDWorks software ( a small black square dot for Lightburn) should also be set to top left corner.
2)The display axis on your machine is set incorrectly. If 1) does not fix the problem then press the ZU button and step down to SCREEN ORIGIN.and play with the options fo make your display match your drawn image..
