    Experienced myself being evaluated on show wha to can do first, where a male colleague was given a leap of faith

      Do you mean that you negotiated with your companies and they fired you? I can assure you, negotiating isn’t the reason. Andrea was ready to walk away - Strategy 3. There are 3 strategies here: First you need to believe your worth, then you need to assess your own value and be able to back it up. If your company doesn’t value it, you are only looking at it from your perspective, not theirs.
