It turned out so beautifully!
I've been intimidated by diy backgrounds but look forward to finding some bravery someday. 😂
I'm super interested in how you balance care for both the water and the land in this!
Maybe I can make a video on that in the future! You should definitely try a diy background it’s fun!
I know this is an older video but your enclosure looks great! I just built a 75 gallon paludarium for my fire bellied toads! Also nobody is Tanner Serpa lol. Don’t listen to the haters. Just do your best! And always improve your skills. :)
Nice job Jessica! If you were my daughter, I'd show off your amazing art to everyone I know. I hope you're happy- I just fell in LOVE with those stunning little creatures!!! Thank you so much for sharing :)
Thank you!
This looks great
Thank you!
Wow, this is really beautiful!!!
Awwww the names are perfect
11:24 LOL I'm building my first paludarium and yes. Truth! I ordered the foam for the background twice and today I bought the silicone for the third time :-D
1. This looked freaking amazing 😍 2. I totally aspire to have your reptile lavish life and giving these babies spectacular homes! I’ve recently adopted 2 leopard geckos and you and your videos have helped me a ton! Much love from Toronto Canada ❤️
Thank you so much! I appreciate your support! ❤️
Only one thing I can say ,absolutely brilliant well done and respect to you 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
It is beautiful love it the frogs look happy. That's all that matters.
We've made a couple palladium set ups, and it's not easy! I'm with you on the bamboo. I have it in all my bioactive enclosures. I love its simplicity.
I think your build is stunning! You should be proud 😊🐸
Yes another bamboo fan! 👏🏻 thank you so much :)
Girl, you are a total bad ass!!!
Omg thank you!!
This is awesome, I recently created a new paludarium for my two Fire bellied toads but it looks nowhere near this good.
Aww I’m sure it’s great!
@@JessicasAnimalFriends Haha thanks! I thinks it decent but definitely not as fancy as this. As of now I just have Fire Bellied Toads, Axolotls, and salt water fish, along with two cats, I want to keep some sort of reptile like a Blue Tongue or Emerald skink and Gargoyle Gecko in the future, but I'm probably going abroad this fall so I can't really get anything new right now. Your channel and Reptilian garden at least let me experience some of these awesome animals vicariously.
Great job 👏
nice tank. bamboo is awesome
Looks great! I love that you shared this as I'm preparing to build mine. 😊 I enjoyed the video you shared with FBT info and am excited to watch your paludarium build.
Thanks so much :)
I really enjoyed and appreciated this video, it's important to see an achievable but still nice looking paludarium build!!
Great work
The paludarium turned out wonderfully! I love the bamboo personally, and like you said, all that matters is if you and your toads like it! (also your doggo is super super cute!)
So excited for this! 💚
TY!!
I'm new to enclosure building to the extent that I didn't even realize bamboo was an option I honestly love how they poke out of the water and will definitely use some if I ever get around to building a paludarium.
What a lovely little home for the froggos, great job!
Thank you!!
Looks amazing 👍🏻
Thanks!
Nice build! And your firebellies look happy. As a side note I found my firebellies to really enjoy a strong current ,I would place the filter pumps on there side to push the water around. Not a criticism just a personal observation from my own setups.
I love it! I can’t wait to have my own paludarium one day :)
Wow that was a lot of work but what a pay off! The Froggies are too cute! X
Aww thank you!!
Amazing
It looks so good!
Thank you!
Beautiful work
Thank you ❤️
Looks beautiful ❤️
Thank you!!
Great job!
Thanks :)
Looks amazing
Thank you!!!
I love this so so much!
TY!!
I love it! This makes me want to make a new paludarium
I always want to build paludariums 😂
I am about to build a background for my 2 Mediterranean house geckos and this was really helpful.
Aww I’m so glad!
This looks amazing! I feel so inspired to finally get of my butt and re do my tanks 😂
Positive vibes only....
Great setup jess. I've only just come across your channel as I had just got a fire skink. Just for the record I'm very impressed by your skills.
You give me enclosure envy.😂 but that motivates me to get better. Thanks for sharing.
Waiting for our next child to be born then my next reptile will be panther chameleon.
Awesome work. Lots of love from malta 🇲🇹 ❤
Aww thank you so much!! I love fire skinks ❤️
I really like it.
Thanks :)
I was expecting to have to fast forward through you talking .. but I actually kind of love your vibe. Subscribed :)
AW! Thank you so much 🥺❤️❤️
I thought that it came out nice. Your fire bellys seem to be happy. I have been thinking about using this new piece of foam that lets water go through it instead of having to divide my land and water with something else.
HI - this is really nice, thanks for posting. I am literally in the middle of building my first paludarium for my FBTs and I am torn between clay balls vs no clay balls - I have an egg crate false bottom and read its not strictly necessary to have clay, and it would be a pain design-wise, but I was wondering what your thoughts might be on that? After seeing this, I am going to add some into the substrate though and some charcoal - Im looking forward to being bioactive for a change and the frogs are stoked at the having live plants instead of crappy plastic ones!
I _really_ enjoyed this. Great job. I'd love to see an update on this tank and see how it's grown in. Any reproductive action, tadpoles, froglets?
I did have tadpoles once. I actually took apart this tank bc the land section was too big and never got used 😅
I love Jackson, he is adorable. I would love to give him hugs and smoochies lol. I miss my Labrador hugs.
Hey it is your build, your design SO as long as it pleases you and your froggies its nobody elses bidnez lol.
I like what you did. At first I thought you would silicone rock pieces etc to the acrylic divider. However when you had finished it was nice being able to see through to the substrate and to be able to see the froggy sitting on the substrate. I was surprised you siliconed the coconut mat. Love those coconut mats on side and backgrounds as my Leos love to climb it :0)
Ps. Oh boy expanding foam is SOOOO messy. Gloves and old clothes are a must for me as I ALWAYS get it on me lol
Pps I am so tempted to get frogs especially when I see your Whites Tree Frogs :0) . I would love to build a palludarium with a waterfall in it :0)
Pps I have a new Baby Leo hatched out today! The first of 2021. I incubated for males as I wanted another couple of males so now I have an addition to my Leo Family. I am a happy Daddy lol.
Omg congrats on the leo baby!! How exciting! Frogs are lovely. All frogs, even my very chaotic whites tree frogs lol. Yeah I’m happy with the design overall I just wish I had measured the acrylic a little bit lower. Oh well!
@@JessicasAnimalFriends Thank you. It is exciting waiting for new babies to hatch. Each time the patterns and colours are different. These little guys both have bands round their bodies alternating yellow and brown but their heads and tails are banded in white and brown. The hatch mate popped out two days later....
These should be boys. I have four more in the incubator but these should be girls.
Leopold their Daddy is very excited having so many girls living nearby. He accidentally met one. I forgot he was out in the play area. He had hidden behind the plant. I was feeding the girls and one decided to scramble out up my hairy arm which they cannot grip properly so I had to scoop her up and deposit her unceremoniously in the exercise area while trying not to let her fall or the Locust escape. She scurried off along the top and Mr Jungle Drums Leo thrummed his tail and grabbed hers.
OH ****! I exclaimed.
I Could not separate them. She was more than willing but fortunately He is not very adept. He gets TOO enthusiastic. Luckily I managed to intervene and get them apart when He released his hold on Her tail ready to grab Her again further up the bod. No shenanigans for You Good Sir and young Lady.
There was much mutual disappointment on their part bless them. Phew!
Any one who does not own a Leo would not believe the looks I received from both of them LOL.
Nice build, looks really nice. I have been researching to build one for Firebellies. Question: did you add anymore janitorial crew to the land area aside from the Springtails? (Isopods, beetles, etc).
Yes dwarf white isopods
Looks fantastic. I'm surprised at how relatively tame those frogs are, I never really considered that frogs could be so handleable.
I tong feed them, the only frogs who aren’t so chill are Zuko and Suki but the rest are great :)
This is amazing! What is the upkeep on this tank like? Do you change the water or substrate ever?
Water changes weekly & no substrate changes!
When Jackson started growling I almost had a heart attack cause I thought there was something in my room😂
LOL
Nice work on the set up! I’m from eastern tn, you visit/stay in the smokies for vacation? Hope you had a good time!
Yeah every few years! Aside from getting carsick on the mountain roads I like it!
this is so awesome love this video tons
I was just using those LED strip lights temporarily, but I definitely recommend Arcadia
hii i had a black moor goldfish in a 20 gallon tall tank she recently passed due to fin-rot and something else. Im looking in to getting 2 fire belly toads for the tank and wondered if it would be big enough
💚💚
is there drainage for the bottom of the land portion? how would you go about draining the water trapped at the bottom with the Leca? Ive been wanting to start a paludarium but im confused with the drainage of the land part?
No need to drain the land section as the barrier was above the water line and water never collected in the land section
I'm not a fan of paludariums but after seeing this I so badly want to try and make this exact same one. What enclosure is this please?
36x18x18 Exo Terra
What is the bamboo used?
What specific filter is this the model number
I am not sure if you'll see this, but how do you heat / keep the temperature for them in the winter, when room temperature drops by 5-7°C ?
My room temp is still fine with that drop in the winter but you could use a low wattage heat bulb or better yet an aquarium heater
@@JessicasAnimalFriends Thanks!
Fire bellies are beautiful frogs. My current tank isn’t the best and I’m looking to upgrade soon!
Edit: if anybody doesn’t mind responding, where are the best places to look for springtails?
I got mine from Josh’s frogs and bred them for a long time so I had a supply for this enclosure
Where can I find the coco fiber mats?
Amazon!
I'm curious how long this all took you?
Around three weeks maybe less
Will the the frogs eat the springtails as a snack?
I imagine they would if the springtails hung out on the surface more, but I’ve never seen them go for them before so maybe they’re just too small
are they nocturnal?
Mine are active mostly during the day, but also sometimes a little bit at night. I’ve noticed they just shift depending on when I feed them.
Omg I can't believe people compared you to Serpadesigns or other CZcamsrs, that's just hella fuuked up 🤨
Serpadesigns he's awesome don't get me wrong but, what?
He's ofc on the more advice level, but dang ᕕ(ཀʖ̯ཀ)ᕗ that hurts me to hear! You doing the best you can for yourself!
I wound up getting distracted by counting the number of times you said "So."
Thanks SO much for telling me this very helpful piece of information I SO appreciate the opportunity to reply to you
