No matter how you slice it, marketing genius during that time of Lexus commercial. Conveying precision and refinement, they did a great job of selling the quality of their cars in those fun commercials.
I wish I still had my White 2005 LS 430... When I first brought it home after waiting for delivery for 2 long months....It was the car I had to peak inside the garage at to really believe it was there.... It was like driving a silky smooth bank vault with power....
My 1992 SC300, 2JZ-GE/5 speed factory car, it was like this if you buttered the clutch and throttle just right. That straight six engine, man it idled like glass(better than my 2014 ES350) and sounded AMAZING when revved it out. 6000rpm, at redline it was just as smooth as at idle. Running 100mph in west Texas with the a/c on, it was straight as an arrow and rock solid. Just make sure you fill up with gas at every stop, I didn't dare go more than 200 miles between stops at those speeds. At 75mph a tank would get you around 330 miles IIRC.

Such elegance and luxury from Japan! I was a kid when these were more new, back then, in the 1990s. Nostalgia forever!
Today i parked my Lexus (GS300 '06) and i checked twice if I turned it off. There's no noise and no vibration.
My 1990 LS400 with 256k miles runs beautiful.
