Hiding in the restroom at work to watch this
Glad I'm not the only one lmao. I'm at home on the toilet rn but when I'm at work I run across the building to the fancy bathroom to watch with class
working on a sunday? making that money money lol
Doing an overnight shift right as this came out and I'm using my shit break 😂
Goat lol
A fellow man of culture. I spend 2/3 of my Sunday morning in the bathroom, if anyone asks, I have IBS.
(I don't have IBS)
"Fireproof" Mark Coleman , great way to put that . 🖤
Every Tommy Toehold piece is gold. And this trip down memory lane is at the top of the heap.
I feel like 205 (first MSG card), 217 (first triple title card iirc), and 229 (greatest selling UFC PPV of all time) all deserved mentions.
205 was actually the first triple title fight card I think.
301 was biggest
217 wasn’t the first triple title card. Literally 205 you listed prior had 3 title fights.
Wow you got all that wrong lol
Jesus christ... do some research before making re arded comments
MMA on point like a history channel for mma!
When Tommy is doing videos. If not, its Ancient Aliens
for the ufc*
Any Forrest griffin fight is iconic
First fight I ever watched was Griffin vs Rampage on Spike TV. Made me a fan of the sport
Damn, even against Anderson Silva as an example of getting shut out in the ufc. kinda like max vs kattar, with a finish
@@mikesoke Anderson and Forrest weren't even the same species, it was like Anderson knew every move Forrest was gonna make 2 seconds in advance. That really might have been his best performance of his career.
@@theywouldnthavetocensormei9231 best night at work. And a worst night at work.
I got into mma through a random website offshoot and started watching tuf where it was him Vs rampage. Their title fight was my first ppv ever and they showed the griffin Vs bonnar fight to start it off.
Been hooked ever since
Joe called him that because he went by Victor Gracie back in them days
Came here to say this.
Famous son of Vicson Gracie
Nah the subtitle for his name says vitor Belfort. I remember seeing the name vitor the first time cus of his first ufc event
@@aidanbagwell7879yeah but people close to him who had trained with him were still calling him victor
@@devanlance8648 I’m aware but the broadcast deemed him vitor. It was genuinely a mistake by Rogan he’s even broughten it up as being nerves on his podcast
The only sad thing about being heavily engrossed with MMA since the nineties (around 7 years old) is there is little to learn from videos like these anymore. The other day I watched over an hour long "iceberg" video on mma/ufc and learned NOTHING new. I started to wish I had never heard of MMA because I miss those days when I was younger and there was still that mysterious, unique element. Becoming a mega fan slowly can be so fun sometimes and you start to lose that magic after a few decades 😔
As someone whose been watching mma since 93' I can remember all of these after you brought them back up. Thanks for the old memories
Cung Le knocking out Rich Franklin was amazing. Not that historic but it was the moment that made me a fan for life!
Nice, mine was Rich Franklin's kO over chuck liddell ... he frozen the iceman with a broken arm
Been a fan since 08 was able to meet Chuck, Tito, Tim Sylvia, Andre Arlovski this sport has been apart of my whole life. My father went to the ogs back in 90s down in Mississippi and Alabama this sport means so much to me and started a whole family who’s fans of fighting and wrestlers and grapplers. The sport was so much simpler then and cheaper to watch lol but I’m so happy how far this sport has come and give it another 10 or so years it will be the most popular sport in the world. Thank you UFC
1999 me. I win
Miss you Tommy, Jason and Bayliun!!!!
I relive the history of MMA through this channel
This video is legit. It triggered so much nostalgia. It was a great thing to witness.
What a great run down! Thank you for putting us together. You guys are always for a lack of better term, on point.
I got into mma and martial arts in general bc of TUF season 1. Seeing Griffin-Bonnar live will probably always be the most impactful sports moment of my life.
It feels cool to remember almost every single moment in this list. I started watching in the early UFC 30s…
Loved this video
MMA Right On Point 💯
302 is going to be awesome
Wouldn't it have been better to name this video "Every ufc fan needs to see these moments "
No
@BiggieTrismegistus why not!
The ufc is not mma!
This is the best MMA channel on planet Earth no ifs ands or buts
i do love this channel
Tommy is by far the best podcaster ever. Would pay for a tommy podcast
best mma channell
Also forgot to mention that incredible fight between Denis Bermudez and Matt Grice at UFC 157
Not even one inclusion of Pride. Just rename the video to most important moments in UFC history then if you're not going to go beyond that.
Tito tapping to Frank Shamrock is my favourite.
Shoutout to whoever wrote this episode! The writings always good but I really enjoyed this one boys!
Intro nailed it... thanks to you guys, Lionel Riviera, and VoteSport I have caught up on 30 years of wild times.
Feels Like i have Seen this Video 5 Times on your Channel now...
I got a gift card to hot topic in 2002 for my 8th birthday and that’s the first time I really started paying attention to mma. I seen a posted of Tito ortiz and I was hooked.
Tommy is the best voice on this channel by a wide margin
See the 90’s was the GOAT DECADE
Having been watching since UFC 1, I think seeing that I knew we were onto something new, spectacular, and different than anything else we had seen before.
Been watching since 2009 🎉
The intro is way too accurate. I became a fan after Adesanya v Whittaker 2. I literally binged almost every video on your channel for a few days and I feel like I know all that I NEED to know to not be a casual even moments I wasn’t around for. Thank you MMA on Point❤️
Watching Since '97.
Khabib vs Conor Post match brawl has to be here
Jfc
We were playing Edward 40 hands for the first Fox card. 8 dudes with 40s taped to their hands ready to watch a heavy weight show down. 66seconds later our night was over lol
I remember first watching ufc 1 on vhs tape 😂 i feel so old
I rented the DVD from Blockbuster and never returned it. I'm pretty sure I would owe a home mortgage in late fees if they still existed🤣
I’m not old enough to have seen 1 but i remember getting ufc on my sega Dreamcast when i was about 7 😆
Ready to watch more ufc got go to a live event one day
Fire proof Mark Coleman 😂😂
He truly is a super hero
I watched UFC 1 w/ my brother a few years ago, I'll never forget when round 2 started. He had no clue it was a one night tournament, it blew his mind!
Victor is his name...
Never caught a video this early
This is just a UFC highlights video......... But the titles lead me to believe it was going to broadly cover MMA as a whole.
re: "Strikeforce needed more time", really interesting that Shields came up short but within like 2-3 years pretty much all of the former Strikeforce champs were running the divisions ( Rockhold, DC, Woodley etc etc)
i recall watching UFC 129 at a bar and ran into a guy from my bjj class there
Forest Griffins story should really be a movie. Being a Cop and probably hating it, an average Joe. Nothing special about him at all. Then get that random opportunity and running hard with it. Eventually rising up against all odds and becoming champion. While still be that ordinary guy that everyone can relate too. Forest Griffin was such a story, someone should make a movie out of it.
UFC 249 is a sad card to me IMO. Tony was never the same after
I feel old af after watching that lol
this video is basically a recap of the history of MMA, the sport is only 21 years old which is insane because its not some dead sport its right there with boxing and NBA, in another 21 years no other sport will be able to compete.
Fireproof Mark Coleman would be a sick nickname!😃😃😃
Looks like you guys doing the research dropped the ball again. The reason why Joe Rogan called Vitor Belfort Victor is because that's what he was going by at the time. It wasn't until later that he embraced his real name.
I wish I had known that about UFC 12 before my amateur fight in the Dothan Civic Center! I would have been more amped up!!
Unlucky Max your team bottled it mate
It would be nice to see a video in this vein, but with individual matches. Couture vs. Sylvia comes to mind. No one saw that coming.
UFC 129 was the end for me.
My sugestion: make a part 2 of the 10 most intimidating fighters
When was the debut of the old (most recently retired) version of the belt?
Vitor Belfort actually went by Victor Gracie when he started in the UFC
I don't think you guys have done a video titled "when trash talk goes right" yet which is crazy!
Good video, however there is a slight error in the title. You meant UFC fan, not MMA fan.
I had seen a couple UFC fights and highlights but the first time I ever sat down in a room full of people and watched an entire pay-per-view was UFC 100! I’ve pretty much seen every event since…
uploaded 1 minute ago is crazy
Still think that 189 was Conor's finest hour. But overshadowed by Lawler vs. Mcdonald.
RIP Stephan Bonnar, the UFC did you wrong brother.
Joe called him Victor because Vitor used to fight as "Victor Gracie"
UFC 1 was a marketing stunt for Gracie BJJ.
Rewatch UFC 1? Ive been watching since 2006 and still never seen it lol
I dont know if this has been done, but how about a top 10 fights of every decade? 1993-2003, 2004-2014, 2015-2024.
random street fights often beat out 90% of apex cards 😂
Conor becoming a star was a big dynamic in the UFC verde other fighters were trying so hard to be like him
Frank Mir had a horse shoe up his a** is so damn hilarious, even after all these years.
No Tito vs Chuck? I feel like that was the first big mainstream fight, with a storyline and animosity. Then I think Chuck became the first fighter to hit the 7 digits pay. Massive card for their first bout.
I may be biased because that's the first one I watched (I was a Pride fan mainly before that thanks to being stationed in Japan in 2000)...but I swear their rivalry was a big deal for UFC history.
Oh man Velasquez vs Dos Santos on Fox was such a big deal when it happened.
Vitor did actually go by Victor Garcia at one point
Gracie
Mr. Toe hold>
The UFC was here for us when nothing else was. It was the only form of live entertainment during the pandemic. The UFC should be a part of everyone's life
It was definitely part of my life during my middle school and high school years I used skip hanging out with friends and going to events just to watch a UFC card my mom would give me money for lunch but instead I would spend it on UFC DVDs I may not be a fan of it now but I will never forget the UFC for being a big part of my life
Damn I’m 35 minutes late
Where's my equity
Top 20 Triple T H S moments
I think you missed 229
Was there any non UFC events that had significant?
Joe called him victor because he went by victor gracie for a while so after that people he knew still called him victor
Huh, I’m surprised you skipped over the riot and the first show in NYC.
Khabib vs Conor isn’t a moment every fan needs to see?
overrated card, main event was between two overrated hype-jobs
I have a literal playlist for Tommy Toe Hold.
What about UFC 229?
We miss the longform content. I really wanna see the deepdives again. Lately this channel is all just lists and the podcast
You didnt do your research vitor was introduced to joe as victor. Thats why he called him that. Your standards are dropping.
Who is Frank Mir? I only know Frank Myrrh.
Is Dana evolving into a sphere?
You forgot aljo's Oscar winning performance
MMA
👍
Having Izzy represent as the 90's UFC fan's was Wack.
John mccains wife owned share in budweiser and they sponsor boxing. Guy was a hypocrite
Show the fights…
