Understanding the Major Arcana Tarot Cards

- Thank you for your support over the years! I have retired from teaching tarot, but want to leave these videos as a resource for anyone who would like to learn.
The cards used in all of my videos are from The Simple Tarot Deck Starter Kit, which is now permanently out of print.

Funny you should say that. Many writers use the Tarot to write their stories and movies. It helps to map out the story's structure and meaning.
Good info the greatest info that ive ever had was with the Stefs Magic Numbers (i found it on google) - without a doubt the most useful resource i've tried.

This was highly valuable to me in two ways: first, it respects my time and intelligence by employing direct language and well-chosen words. Secondly, it is refreshing to experience direct language in the art of Tarot, which has far too much wishy/washy language.

I’m a total beginner I usually listen to readings but I just got my first Tarot deck and this was amazing!!! that's what I've been searching for. There is so much to each card it's just to much to take in. I've studied for two years and haven't knocked them out yet. So it does take a lot of time and patience.

Thank you so much for this tutorial on the Major Arcana Journey. I am new to Tarot and this really helped me to understand the journey of the Major Arcana. We are here to learn and grow. We all make mistakes, go through challenges and upheavals, but there is Divine support and resolution. With faith and trust there's healing and new beginnings. What a wonderful path to be on personally, but also to be able to offer hope and resolution to others in their journeys as well. Great Tutorial!!!!

so helpful, just got my Hanson-Roberts tarot. First reading, which was a general financial peep, had the tower, the devil and temperance all right next to each other, yikes. A lot to learn and like the story telling...makes it easily integrated. Thank you.

I'd like to see you do videos like this on each suit. I know you have videos on each card individually but I'd like to hear you talk through each suit starting with the Ace and ending with the King, but without too much fluff. I like videos like this that are short and to the point.

• I Magician: enhances the selected card into a Lucky Card
• II High Priestess: creates 2 random Planet Cards
• III Empress: enhances up to 2 selected cards into Mult Cards
• IV Emperor: creates 2 random Tarot Cards
• V Hierophant: enhances up to 2 selected cards into Bonus Cards
• VI Lovers: enhances the selected card into a Wild Card
• VII Chariot: enhances the selected card into a Steel Card
• VIII Justice: enhances the selected card into a Glass Card
• IX Hermit: doubles money (max $20)
• X Wheel of Fortune: 1 in 4 chance to add Foil, Holographic, or Polychrome edition to a random joker
• XI Strength: increases rank of up to 2 selected cards by 1
• XII Hanged Man: destroys up to 2 selected cards
• XIII Death: select 2 cards; converts the left card into the right card (drag to rearrange)
• XIV Temperance: gives the total sell value of all current jokers (max $50)
• XV Devil: enhances the selected card into a Gold Card
• XVI Tower: enhances the selected card into a Stone Card
• XVII Star: converts up to 3 selected cards to diamonds
• XVIII Moon: converts up to 3 selected cards to clubs
• XIX Sun: converts up to 3 selected cards to hearts
• XX Judgement: creates a random joker card
• XXI World: converts up to 3 selected cards to spades

It suddenly all made sense!!!! The fact that you outline the story the fool goes through, the card have a real meaning in the bigger life context and general individual evolution. I will certainly remember those much more easily. Well...still need some practice though. but getting there!
I agree it is nice to understand the fool is the hero and moves through and interacts with all that part brought me clarity as well. I thought each character I took on and changed or grew into.

the Wheel of Fortune card - the World Card and the Justice Card throw me off the most
Isn’t Wheel of Fortune 1 in 4 chance for foil/holographic/polychrome? World is turn 3 cards into spades and Justice is enhance one card into a glass card

The Fool card doesn't show just a clueless person, but someone smart and experienced. They've learned a lot, got skills up their sleeve, and reached a point where they can clearly see the right way to go. By mastering the four elements and waving a wand, they're saying, "I know my stuff." Even though they seem carefree, it's because they're not scared - they've got the knowledge to tackle any challenge. I know this is not the standard interpretation of the card, but he already has a wand, and at the end of it is his hidden knowledge. Also, you agreed he exists outside normal time. This is just another way to view the card and speaks more to what he has become at the end of his journey rather than just beginning it. He is the start and the finish as you implied.

I noticed you/she's going back and forth between the fool's journey and the heroe's journey. Are these terms interchangeable?
The Hero's Journey is a storytelling device, used broadly. The Fool's Journey follows the Hero's Journey, but really just deals with tarot. Hope that helps!
This is great but my pet peeve is The Empress being boiled down to the “mother” she’s SO much more.
