    Thank you for this. I just got a new tarot deck and I'm back to learning. I studied tarot when I was a teenager and it's so meditative and rewarding to sit with these cards and study them. Even without doing a reading, these cards are rich with meaning, and the time you spend with them increases peace and joy, I've noticed.

    I read with this spread but when I learned it back in the early 90’s lol the spots are so different. I have 1a which is the person I’m reading. Then 1 what’s going on, 2 crossing your path, 3 what’s above you, 4ths heart of the matter, 5 the passed, 6 the future, 7 is the situation , 8 how people see you, 9 hopes and fears, and the final outcome

    Most times when i use a significator the results are weirdly accurate 😀 not that i doubt the wisdom of the cards. There is a method where the reader cuts the deck where the significator card is and then uses the rest of the deck for answering the question. But to each their own. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    I did my first Celtic Cross after watching this video. I took three pages of notes as I flipped over each card. The question asked was how successful I would be to learn how to read tarot for strangers. The random card I picked for myself (position one) was the wheel of fortune. The cards were eerily accurate and positive until last question. The indication was that I was going to be very successful in learning to read tarot for others except the outcome card said a burden and obligation keeps me from completely fulfilling my goal. In other words life gets in the way of our asperations.

    • @TheSimpleTarot
      @TheSimpleTarot  Před 2 lety +2

      Steve, what card did you get as the Outcome? I'm just curious. Since I don't read predictively, I often read that #10 card less like "this will happen" and more like "this is what I want to happen" or "based on my effort/inputs, this is the likely output". 😘

I'm the primary caretaker right now because it is hard to hire someone to watch her. Right now I see that as what I will be doing for at least a few more months until we find someone. As far as my studies the cards say I will be highly successful, only that it might be delayed putting it into practice because of my obligations to take care of my roommate.

    This is a really good video - I like to put the 3 at the bottom and the others in a clockwise rotation too. I'm lucky enough to live right by Cornwall's Celtic Cross monument. As an Aquarius ascendant - I particularly resonate with the star and I intuitively see the signifier as important. What I have done, is made a copy of the star card and laminated it - so I do not have to take a critical card out of the pack.

    I've been using the one I found first and honestly it just works really well. But I've been thinking I probably don't need my number 9 to be hopes and dreams. Idk how it would be better to read it tho or if I really can read it differently and not miss it (perhaps I just don't know how much I actually use it? Idk).( The only thing I accidentally changed it that I put 7-10 up to down instead of down to up but I didn't change their meaning that means card 7 will still have the meaning of card 7 just will be placed on 10ths place...)
    My cards are:
    1 situation
    2 challenges/obstacles
    3 (left) past from which this came to happen
    4 (right) the near future the next step
    5 (up) conscious goals (what you want)
    6 (down) subconscious goals (what you need)
    7 advice what you should do
    8 how other people in your life can help you or mess you up in this situation
    9 hopes and fears
    10 outcome
    I think my 5 and 6 sum up hopes and fears pretty well so idk if I'm not just "wasting space" I can use for something else with my 9th card.
    You showed sk many possibilities. I've seen several different versions of the celtic cross but this showed all of those and even more. You are amazing it was very inspiring. But I must admit I don't really know how to choose what would fit. How do you decide not to use a significator? I read one book that said it was a third card hidden beneath 1&2 so 11 cards total, another is saying it’s something you pull out ahead of time before shuffling. How do you decide what card fits for what? Like if I’m asking about my relationship with someone else would it be the lovers card? Which would you pick for the question “what will my life look like in the next six months?” Sorry if this sounds dumb I’ve just read a couple different options and I’m confused.

      Great questions! I choose not to use a significator, ever. It's just a personal preference. There's no right or wrong way to read the cards, just whatever works for you!
      The significator card is pulled intentionally from the deck before the cards are shuffled. It represents the querant - which is usually the person asking the question. (It could also possibly be the person the question is about, if you're asking something like, "When will my dad get healthy?"). Most people pick the court card that most matches the querant, but you could honestly pick any card that you feel is a good match.
      Again, I don't use them, and you don't have to either! But they add another layer and dimension to your reading. Good luck!

    when it is a general reading do you ask a question?? this may seem like a silly question but i’m curious

      You can, but you don't have to. It's nice to frame the reading with a question as it helps guide the answer, but it's not necessary.

    Hi, I have a question about the celtic cross, lets say that the cards that is crossing is the ace of wands, does it mean that the querent could expect a new opportunity in the future and the challenge is to step into their power? Because I dont know exactly if the cards also have divination value or they just represent the querent and how they feel. Because for example if you ask about a situation that seems to be nearly impossible, and you get the ace of wands, it could mean a new chance in that particular situation or it could mean that the querent should redirect their energy to another beginning or it could be that the querent should have that energy in order to manifest (which implies that something is on the horizon, otherwise it makes sense to get something like death card). So, I dont really understand how to read the cards together with their divination meaning, because thats what people are looking, for a direction. For example, somebody could try to be the ace of wands when they are actually dellusioning themselves. Is the celtic cross showing this? Or it only shows the querent feelings and attitutde? Also how can you tell in the spread what cards represent the querent and what cards represent the other person or influences? Because I feel that not only the environment is the influence, but any other card can be related to somebody else...

    Confused about 9 card.. how could 1 card show hopes and fears? What I'm afraid of isn't my hope... someone please clarify

    • @TheSimpleTarot
      @TheSimpleTarot  Před 3 lety +1

      For me, sometimes it's an either/or thing (the card represents either a hope or a fear), OR - and this is very common - there is some aspect of my hope that causes fear, even if I have to dig deep to find it. Hope that helps!

    Rather than saying it’s complicated for beginners, you can try using a more encouraging approach. I understand you are trying to be helpful but re enforcing the fact that you believe it’s a challenging spread, makes your students feel a bit discouraged from learning the spread…
    Just a little useful tip.

    how do i know if card #2 is positive or negative

    • @TheSimpleTarot
      @TheSimpleTarot  Před 3 lety

      There is no negative or positive card or position. It's all in how you interpret it - which depends on the question you asked, your situation & backstory, and the cards surrounding it.

    Now that's how you do make-up! Your face is made-up, but it looks natural. The eyeliner brings out your eyes and matches the red lip. (a red shade that looks....natural)
