  • Welcome back to the Radial Runabout build series!
    Our buddy Liam has dropped in for us his VP Commodore ute, and Kurt has a BUNCH of fabrication work to do on this beast...
    Today we're going to show you just how tight it is to squeeze a 4" dump pipe into an LS swapped Commodore. Would have been far easier to exit behind the strut tower, but that's just not how we roll. You know what that DOES mean?... Firewall mods. Can guarantee this is going to be painful.

      Thanks Paterson, thats how we were hoping the viewers would feel.
      What we put out is real, and while we try to make it all killer with no filler, sometimes you'll get the odd 'quiet week'. Do our best to keep it entertaining anyhow, and we're having a blast doin what we're doin. Can't wait to show you all what we've got on our to-do list 💪🏻

    Love watching these videos boys always a good watch.
    Crazy to think that this fella has got the same name as me haha and not only that but what you are doing mate looks real familiar lol I have been doing something real similiar to my ls1 turbo vs ute and I came to a holt once I sliced up my firewall but I ended up getting a few 5" mendral bends from a truck joint and cut them up to suit my fire wall tacked them in but still alot of shaping to do still on going i wanna dumby fit everything else I can completely then drop motor and completely finish the bay but my turbo is tiny compared to that beast haha and my pipes are only 3 inch.
    Keep these videos coming Kurt.
    Regards, Kurt haha 🍻.

      Gday Kurt!! It's not a common name is it mate! Haha. Your 5 inch mandrel bend idea is great. I actually also had that thought half way through as well but I'm making head way with shaping the flat sheet we've already got. we love to hear about peoples projects and how guys are getting things done. That's what this is all about. Goodluck with it all mate and thanks for the kind words and watching our videos. Regards Kurt. Haha

    Really enjoy these type of build vids guys keep them coming. Building a VG ute myself atm so makes it even better. Try fitting a VF dash in one with the original heater box and see how much you like dashes!!

    • @TorqHub
      @TorqHub  Před 3 lety +1

      We've seen the vf interior fitted to an early commodore ute before, it looks amazing. I bet there's a tonne of work involved but worth the effort in the end. Would love to see how you get on with it. Thanks for watching and commenting Damien! Appreciate it mate.

      @@TorqHub I know the ute your talking about, I found out about his when I was picking up the vf dash for mine. It does look sweet but so much work. Hes lucky he didnt have to worry about rego, so no working guages or HVAC unit to get around.

    Great video mate. Is it wrong of me to suggest that the turbo manifold could of been modified to move the turbo forward and clocked away abit more from the inner well allowing you to not have to cut so much material away?
    Great stuff and keep the vids coming

    • @TorqHub
      @TorqHub  Před 3 lety +3

      You're 100 percent correct in thinking that was a viable option. I gave that thought serious consideration. But seeing as though the cooler piping had already been fabricated(I could have worked around this issue) and that there's a lot of extra work in doing so, I decided to take the road of less resistance. The whole reason we went with a killerboost manifold setup was so that I didn't have to spend time doing that part, these manifolds were designed with factory power steer resivoir in mind hence why the turbo is where it it. The direction has changed since purchasing turbo manifolds and we're now going astra power steering. I do like where your heads at though mate because that was my very first thought when I came to that crossroad. Like I've mentioned a few times now. This is a more race orientated build so cutting more doesn't really bother us all that much honestly. Thanks for watching and engaging with us as always mate!!

      @STREETCARCULTURE Před 3 lety

      @@TorqHub always happy to support Aussie content, especially more in-depth channels like yours! After I typed my comment I came to the realisation that the Inner well is already cut and like you say it's a race car. I was more referring my comment to avoid cutting the structural part of the tower you mentioned.
      Consider yourself lucky being in WA and waiting for parts. I'm stuck down here in Melbourne 😂😔

    • @TorqHub
      @TorqHub  Před 3 lety +1

      The plan is the replace the structural part of the tower with some thicker material of the same size where its been removed and then use sheet metal the rest of the way. This car will eventually have a cage so the structural integrity will be better than standard in the future anyway. Plan a is to get it running first though.

    Shithouse. This is the internet. The dump should be made from 70 pie cuts that require 3 G size bottles to weld up. Everyone knows that 😩🤣

    • @TorqHub
      @TorqHub  Před 3 lety

      🤣🤣🤣🤣 you won't see any pie cuts that don't need to be there on this channel mate! The people that scream that crap need to get off instgram and into the shed and give it a go themselves. Although it's not hard to do, it takes forever and like you said, wastes tonnes of gas! That stuff ain't that cheap over here! Haha. Cheers for watching Broomy!!
