Manchester United left it late to confirm their semi final Wembley spot against Liverpool after an extra time winner from Amad Diallo. The Red Devils will next face Championship side Coventry, after their incredible comeback against Wolves.
Chelsea’s nail biting win against Leicester means they take on Man City in the other semi final. Can Pochettino take his team to two finals this season? Plus, why Jordan Henderson keeps making the England team.
Jimbo is joined by host of The Athletic's ‘Straight Outta Cobham Podcast' Matt Davies-Adams, as well as The Athletic's Tim Spiers and JJ Bull to discuss a chaotic but wonderful weekend of FA Cup and Premier League action.

The mascot was crying in the tunnel: probably because he was very young and wasn't with his parents at that point. When Bruno Fernandes joined him and took his hand, he stopped crying. I don't know why they would want to tell the story another way...
The amount of excuses for Liverpool is pretty laughable tbh. No-one told Klopp to play his best side on Thursday knowing they already qualified because of the 1st leg.
I don't remember the same excuses being afforded to Utd last season when they got to two domestic finals, and played two extra game in the EL with their stupid play-off rules and got to the QFs, all the while Martinez was injured and the options in attack were minimal and then finished 3rd.
This show is so amazing. It's a shame not enough people listen kn youtube
didnt even know it was on youtube, i really like that it is
When JJ said “lots of action, absolutely no control” in response to James asking “in between, what happened? I assumed they were still talking about the distraught little boy holding Bruno’s hand fearing more. I immediately stopped the video and considered reporting the video to CZcams. I hope the little boy recovers quickly.
That was a great game to watch, particularly with kids. It was *that* type of game. My kids (13&11) loved it and immediately wanted to go and play football. I remember feeling that on a Sunday afternoon with a cup tie when Zola scored a top corner with his left peg. It's a wonderful game..
Great work by the art/creative director on the color palette for this. These frames are looking like a Dan Winters portrait with those color gels.
I'd say with 100% certainty that you're the only one to pick up on that. I love Athletic video comments sections.
Coventry bought Simm for 8m, not a loan
They were up 5-1 from the 1st leg so they rested ne1 that didn't need mins that were jus coming back from injury. United havnt been able to put there 1st team out only twice all year. So fuck Liverpools excuses they were done by a better team on the day that created the more clear cut opportunities.
Here for jj. Fun and enjoyable delivery of topics.
Perhaps the reason Everton "haven't recalled Simms from loan" could be because they no longer own him. Come on lads, do your research. Coventry bought him and Wright with the Gyokeres money.
Sterling has had an insane career considering the man can’t actually strike a football
Great! Can you maybe comment these following matches in Euro 2024 in couple of days?
Nigel Freelove is actually an amazing name.
I like the analysis from the Tifo guys but the kind of quirky/sarcastic presentational style can get a bit grating after a while.
Slightly weird favourite moment of the weekend by JJ Bull. Best to leave MOTW for the European boys ("well James, my moment of the weekend")
Funny how last season utd was playing every 3 days but hey no one made it an excuse like they do for klopp and liverpool. Amazing how many times I have heard this excuse! Unbelievable! Imagine if liverpool had to contend with a world cup in between as well!
They are considering injuries, dude!
@@georgezivanai4869 if that is the case utd have had injuries since the start of the season so let's not make injuries an excuse either
@@vasiewelman1726 good enough.
First! Even when arsenal are not involved! Love this podcast.
turning point...in the middle of march
We hear this every season after a big win then they go and lose to Burnley 🤣
Etcetera and so on…
2 deflected poxy goals Liverpool got!
wow, yet another turning point in the scum's season
Anything actually intelligent to say?
A bunch of wokes just yapping between themselves talking a load of nonsense.
So funny you jokers, year after year, the FA Cup has brought up surprises . Fourth division teams winning first division teams, It was old Trafford filled to capacity and they we’re well into extra time last minute of the game and you got a goal. Well heavens to Betsy. This is a turning point.🥊👹🥊
