I worked at Tesla starting in July of 2017 as an Operations Analyst out of the Bethlehem, PA distribution center facility and left as a Program Manager based out of Austin, TX as of September 2021. I spent most of my time in the distribution and supply chain organizations.
Before Tesla, I was a Director of Business Intelligence and Pricing at the largest Pet Food & Supply distributor in the US, Phillips Pet Food & Supplies based out of Easton, PA. My wife and I also owned a small business in Bethlehem, PA between 2016 and 2019.
I have been a shareholder of Tesla since 2012 and currently own Tesla stock. Nothing I say constitutes as investment or financial advice.

Tesla's Autonomy Investor Day was held on Monday, April 22, 2019
i think what he says it's true, he just based off that everyone works at his pace so it's why it's a bit of a delay. will happen just a matter of time
So he lied about not using Nvidia chips?
@@TheChadAbidesWhat? Nvidia’s chips have always been part of the training, onboard auto inference engine is Teslas own design…
@@TheChadAbides it was five years ago. Things change, companies adapt
@@TheChadAbides No, not at all, did you even listen to what he said? There are no NVidea chips IN the cars, exactly as he said... Upto early 2019 Tesla used Nvidea chips in the on board computer, but after Autonomy day that was stopped.
The massive amount of H100 Nvidea GPU's Tesla bought from Nvidea are used in the server centers to train the neural net, and it has ALWAYS been beside the Dojo super Computer Tesla has developped in house.
I have never seen a CEO so knowledgeable from small details to complicated details!!!
yes massah can i have another
He's not a CEO. He's the TecnoKing😂😂
Check me out
This is the Elon I like to hear from.
Same almost every week, most days even... Same Elon as always...
What Elon do you not want to hear from?
I think we may have gotten used to how he speaks when he’s asked absurd and relatively unexpected questions… he’s talking about one of his main interests that he has been vested in for years… he lives for this subject. Not fending off woke mind virus zombie “journalists”
The Elon before Twitter
@@AlejandroGomez-or7op Exactly, lol. The 2020 pandemic is when his public perception really started to go downhill and buying twitter is a big piece of it too
This video demonstrates the enormous complexity of solving FSD and why it requires an Elon Musk to make it happen.
I guess most people either didn't watch this originally or had forgotten all this.
I haven't and have been buying TSLA ever since.
Watching your money disappear!
@@richardwolf6269 Only a new buying opportunity. I never planned to sell until tobo-taxis were out there.
Remember the stock price has nothing to do with the solvency or business of a company. It has only to do with this qtr's returns.
The huge mistake Wallstreet is making is that since most of Tesla's current money comes from car sales they judge its worth totally on that basis. They completely discount everything else it has in the pipeline until they show profit on the bottom line.... but then it's too late to get into the stock cheap.
Tesla is similar to where Amazon was when they announced they would do AWS....Wallstreet only valued them as an online retailer still after this until AWS started hitting the bottom line then look what happened. Tesla is not about cars and never has been... it's mission is to accelerate the transition to renewable energy. EVs was just a way of doing that....robo-taxis will then solve the problem of apartment dwellers not being able to charge EVs at home as well as do away with maybe 30% or more of the new car market as city dwellers decide not to own one at all.
This will be an even bigger step towards transforming us towards renewables.
Yeah, I've been a shareholder since 2018 and am currently just holding. Most people have no idea what's about to happen this decade with autonomy. The architecture they are on (v12) is the solution. Now it is merely a matter of time (and computational processing in the world's largest Nvidia H100 cluster)
Amazing. Tesla and Elon is 10x ahead of every one else.
❤ My wife and I net-worth was 62k April 2020.
Just hit 550k this week
Where did you invest? I'm just trying to learn where or how do I begin so I can start the journey of compound interest. I am 24 and have saved some money, I just do not know clearly where everyone seems to know to put their money. It just says S&P 500 but I don't understand what that
means
I'm 33 just got out of debt I might be behind compared to my peers I'm not happy but satisfied that I’m debt free only want to focus on investing I would appreciate if you recommend your advisor for the right knowledge
Have you not heard of Amelia Jason !
You know her too ? I'm also a proud beneficiary of her superb platform. There are the biggest custodians. After this I also would not be asking investing advice in the CZcams comments. 80% are scammers.
In reality, Bitcoin crashes and rises with the tech Market. Crypto has opened doors for global financial inclusion. It's time for more equitable world!❤
Iron Man Elon! this guy love him or hate him doesn’t matter. He is so driven and keeps moving toward his goal unfazed.
Imagine working in a company where the CEO not only understands the tech but is driving the tech strategy, lovely!
while hes basically not there :D
That is basic necessity for any company and CEO.
He is up there making promises he cant keep, while selling the product. Thats not something to be proud of, just saying.
There are many of those, you just don't see them voice their opinions on every topic on twitter
Since Yucharrino took over at X.xom, Elon has been spending 90% of his time doing Tesla stuff. Zero evidence that he has been neglecting Tesla, all the evidence pointing to Tesla being #1 priority..
Very useful having access to this info with high information density. Thanks Team Farzad!
Elon Musk still the most smartest man in the world no doubt
Thank you for your comment Elon Musk is the Cinderella man
When you realize everything happened in plain sight.
As is normal with Elon for over a decade now.
Except timeline predictions for robotaxi and fsd approval. That was waaaay off.
Are you talking about the robot takeover
Timely for a great reminder on key points on FSD design
That SpaceX crew/vehicle safety culture is going to be crucial to designing a robotaxi. You can hear it here when he talks about redundancy
Thanks, Farzad. Sometimes I need this little extra boost to keep my faith up. Especially when the road gets a little rough.
Only thing rough are the media stories Tesla is doing great in reality. Strongest car brand by far. All other car companies would fail years before Tesla if the macro economics get really bad...
Lol man gives no actual roadmap to getting thro regulators for actual fsd.
Past success doesn’t always equal future success. I’m bearish in the near term
I agree. It's been a really heart aching road but definitely a buying opportunity
@@danielcarnam6420 if you think there is a roadmap to get through regulation, then you’re delusional.
@@danielcarnam6420NHTSA set the regulations for autonomous self driving in 2021 this was two years before. The bar has been set and I wouldn’t be bearish on Tesla meeting the standard. Tesla will get there first and no one will catch up until Elon moves to Mars
8:55
One thing about 'close to home' driving is that it is where you are most likely to have an accident. People get complacent taking the same risk every day, and eventually, luck runs out. FSD will just always be safe.
Fascinating! Thanks for putting this together, Farzad!
Love this succinct, video compression. Keep these coming please!
TSLA stock is at a discount.
I am not sure. The baseline business does look like it is in somewhat in trouble. I wish they would make the cars just a bit more usable to regular people (like getting rid of the turn signal stocks was a terrible mistake on the latest Model 3). I think a slightly larger ~$60,000 SUV would be a great addition to their line-up, many people want something larger than the Model Y and the Model X is too expensive / strange. If FSD and Optimus really take off then that is great. If Tesla really struggles this year, this might be a great time to buy assuming everything else comes together.
@@nafnaf0TSLA stock is at a discount.
Selling cars is a vehicle to get the rest of the world moving faster towards dumping gas and coal, it's one step in a wider plan. I believe that skin will eventually be shed, and you will see the company evolve to something like a Samsung
For the level of talent, innovation, pipeline, and number of industries it’s disrupting… I have no idea why it’s at such a discount. A lot of fud and bad short term sentiment.
@@FlyWithTyy you dont know that.. This can be the highest it will ever go for all we know..
Thank you for posting Farzad! A great reminder of why invested.
Thanks for this! Need more tsla stock!!!
In the middle of watching this video. Really enjoying this. Thanks for posting.
GREAT CUT Farzad, Thanks!! watched it in full recently, but this is pure gold .
Except “Rider sits in Driver seat” doh!
its quite funny most people dont seem to be bearish when stock was like 200+. once it dropped 40%+ they started to panic and thinking the company is about to end.
That’s Human Nature
Tbf, a 40% drop in the space of a few months borders on the catastrophic and it would appear it’s going to keep dropping. In the past Musk could usually come up with something to prop up the stock in difficult times, it would appear that is no longer working.
Most people were along for the profit ride when there were chip shortages and Tesla did not have them. They had no idea what they were buying. Tesla is an AI company that happens to make cars as well.
@@michaelnurse9089 Tesla is a car company first and foremost, don’t be ridiculous.
@@tatata1543 there'a a difference in this drop though.. it's a lot more influenced by public sentiment for the CEO than it should be. Since acquiring twitter Elon has become increasingly more hated, specially by those on the left, there are hit pieces everywhere on Elon which means every little hit on the stock is severely amplified and has a harder time recovering, nothing significant has changed in how Elon runs things, but his public perception has changed dramatically. People who are seeing right through this are looking at the current stock price as nothing more than the sale of a life time. Tesla as a company continues to have strong fundamentals, leadership and a solid direction, that's all that matters in the long run, everything else is just noise.
13:48 "I said we would do them - we did them. We are gonna do the Robotaxi thing too. Only critisism, and it's a fair one - sometimes I'm not on time. But I get it done😏"
Elon has said before, "Doing the impossible, merely late." :)
This is a good edit of relevant information. 🙏 Well worth revisiting.
Loved this one! Thx.
Thanks Farzad...!!!
I love that you added the date in the top corner. I was wondering if I missed a new AI day until I saw that. Thanks for that detail!!!!
Great compilation Farzad.
More outstanding work! I’m very thankful for a credible source, comprehensive, low bias information combined with an effective, efficient communication style. Keep it up!
Kids, this is SIGNAL, the rest is NOISE. Rock on Farzad my friend!
Wouldn't count that as a direct signal, because that is 5 years old presentation.
@@Wurlipurili yes, we know, the mission and the master plan remain intact.
24:04 Didn't think that they would want to optimise the cheaper standard range car rather than long range. Makes sense, since maximising the amount of vehicles on the road will bring more data for FSD optmisations, will get more people to know the car, and will bring more revenue from Robotaxi fleet. Robotaxi feature will probably bring Tesla several times more money per car, than selling a car. For example, profit from 40k model 3 is 10k due to margins. Each robotaxied model 3 will bring Tesla 60k over 10-20 years if Tesla takes 30% from 200k cars lifetime revenue. So rollling out Robotaxi fleet is something like selling 3-10 times more cars.
Brilliant stuff!
This was an amazing watch. Thanks for this cut! Awesome buying opportunity right now.
A useful reminder, thanks
Thanks for sharing the Q2 conference call early ❤
Thank you so much.
Great refresher to listen to while Fsd supervised takes me to my haircut, post office and back home
Thank you for this, can we get the unedited long version please
Go to Tesla's channel. Lol Wow
Thank you
Thanks for this flashback - You should have put the date this was taped in the description. Not all of us know when Autonomy Investor Day was held.
Unbelievably brilliant ! Amazing understanding and comprehension.
Excellent Farzad!!! 💪🏻👍🏻💯
Great edit
Dude was pumping 'Robotaxi next year' in 2019!!! LMAO
10:33 I never recall hearing that part! Although probably a couple years away, truck platooning sounds awesome 😎
28:43 "It's like quiet eerie actually, the car just starts behaving like a person". I've heard people say similar things in FSD v12 videos.
Addition information (once they solve FSD) could be accident reporting (not including your own, meaning even seeing an accident happen you are not in gets reported immediately to authorities.) GPS coordinates and accident metrics for both liability data for faster accident investigation (clearing the scene faster), and precise first responder data for preparing for the situation before they even leave the station.
It makes sense, but could be a PR disaster.
Hope they are taking notes. He is putting out a lot of good info without dummying it down too much.
So long as there are carjackings, there will be a steering wheel and pedal controls for a driver.
There were some BOMBS dropped in this. Thanks for revisiting and the editing! Getting stoked for robotaxi.
Excellent video
The end of this video is brilliant with regards to scaling RT and the focus on units rather then FCF thats quite literally happening right now !
Great presentation by Elon and good to be reminded.
Truly amazing. Unbelievable that they made this much progress so fast.
Great info. I watched Total Recall last night and saw the robo taxi (Johnny Taxi), a few Cyber trucks, the cars on mars were electric, the boring co was at full speed. Arnold's room at the hotel even had a poster of the space x starship (almost). I have not seen any women who could nurse triplets as seen in the movie, oh well. Thanks Farzad and Elon.
Poor guy trying to predict completion of this crazy new problem.
For anyone doing real life applications predicting exactly is extremely hard. This one significantly harder as there are lots to unknown.
My hat goes down to this guy.
If it doesn't have FSD IT AINT FOR ME!
Farzad, King of Recycle, but who is mad about it. Not me!
I see this for the first time 🫣
True, it's old but ppl can still benefit from watching.
Ppl need to rewatch this, including myself. In hindsight everything said will seem like duuh! but at the time most didn’t believe Tesla would get where we are today
That's what we call a backhanded compliment :) and well deserved, the title is dishonest today without need. It could be review of what Elon has said about autopilot to date. Comparing autopilot promise to reality.
Yeah this is actually a good reminder of their long-term plan, even if that plan is taking many years longer than he originally anticipated lol
Great re-listen, given the immense progress made with FSD, this is substantially more credible than it was back then.
5 years ago… are we supposed to feel better or worse
I really can't speak for you. But you don't really sound like an investor. First to market is the key thing with autonomy. In assessment and opinion they are the leaders. I am invested on that basis.
@@markthomas7279 You are invested in tesla stock?
What date was this one from? Was this April of 2019!?!
30%
We now know that it would be better to have cameras on the front and on sides of bumper
How do you keep the cameras clean when driving in certain conditions?
The Cybertruck has a spray nozzle right above the front one. That's the first one with that though.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Good to revisit this. the thing that stuck out to me is Elons definitely believes individuals will be able to put their cars into the robotaxi fleet. On that point I"m skeptical still, but robotaxi is for sure coming in easy cities like Phoenix and Austin.
My buddy leased his spare tesla and earned good money. He used a leasing company.
It’s time for another day like this. Elon needs to spell out an update on this vision. Even if he just confirms plan … better very very late then never. As as FSD user, I can say this is finally a reasonable vision.
I assume 8/8 will touch on a lot of this
Farzad thank for posting this. I now have a thorough understanding of Robotaxi and I’m bullish on the direction Elon is taking the company.
Ah amigo grata por sempre nos trazer informações desse extraordinário ser humano que encantou todos nós e realmente faz a diferença nesse mundo eterna gratidão sucesso sucesso incríveis conteúdos em seus vídeos conhecimento e vida nos liberta
I just bought my Tesla Y for dog mode. I had an Audi Q5 before because I live on a Vermont mountain with dirt roads. I thought that car handled the snow and mud, but my Tesla is even better. It plows through mud with ease. I barely feel any slippage when I hit the ruts. We get some deep mud up here so I was really surprised how well it handled. It’s better than any other car especially going up the mountain roads. I didn’t even have snow tries put on because I bought my car in February/March this year. I can only imagine how much better it will handle next winter when I put proper ties on it. Does the car see potholes? When I drive spring then the car thinks I’m drifting out of the lane and tries to straighten me back out. I don’t like how it over powers me. I had to take the lane departure assist off. Any thoughts on what I should do about that? It only happens when I’m driving over 45 mph
I watched everything Elon before I invested.
I believe in Elon and Tesla.

@@danharold3087 I felt that statement in my soul.
When was this?
Well worth revisiting.. brings a smile whenever Elon predicts 'next year' 🙂
Mr Farzad could you tell me if we have Iranian nationality how could we buy Tesla stocks?
For some reason this does not feel 5 years ago.
Holy Caneloni! Smart cars🎉
Switching chips and software is great, what about cables connecting them, can they switch too?
Farzad, this supercut is just what everyone needs, a reminder as to what this company is! Honestly, this flashback is 100% still relevant (minus the Elon timelines). Almost every word he said back then still applies today it’s as if the man was sent from the future 😅 Tesla had been executing near flawlessly, sure the timelines are a bit skewed but version 12.3.4 blows my mind and it’s crazy that the stock doesn’t reflect the progress and realize how close it is to prime time. It most definitely makes me question the statement that markets are “forward looking” 😂.
“Sometimes I’m not on time. But I get it done. The Tesla team gets it done!” Let’s go Tesla team
I think anyone working for Elon would want to help in the very best design of components for the goal of producing the best product as a whole.
“[Robo taxi is] basically our entire expense structure. Between now and when the robo taxis are fully deployed throughout the world, the sensible thing for us is to maximize rate and drive the company to cash flow neutral. Once the robo taxis fleet is active I would expect to be extremely cash flow positive”
“Next year” even today that statement could be true 😂
All jokes aside. Even if it takes another few years I believe he was correct in saying the hardware was ready. All software from here
I should be buying more Stock
Elon was correct about the redundancy of the electronics for Autonomy except that it isn't the electronics that are the weakest link LoL The mistake made in S3XY was the reliance on a SINGLE electric motor and drive belt to control the steering angle, yes they added two electronic control modules and separate wiring plus two sets of power wiring! Unfortunately the single motor and drive belt has proven to fail in service (some reported to have failed at low mileages). I believe that Tesla honestly thought one motor and belt was enough however it has since become clear that the risk of total steering control loss with one motor and belt is too high. This is why steer by wire was a priority for CyberTruck this replaces the mechanical linkage on the earlier S3XY systems with a second electric motor and belt providing the required redundancy to safely operate UNSUPERVISED autonomy. It should be noted the SAE Levels 1, 2 and 3 are all SUPERVISED (a driver is required to be ready to take control) only SAE Level 3 and 4 allow UNSUPERVISED autonomy. For a deep dive go watch "All EV by Steele Auto Group" CZcams teardown of Tesla Model Y steering rack... After watching this you might understand.
24423火14:20PDT. The first Robotaxis will be fleet cars that arrive empty, after riders agree to supervise up to the drop off, then autonomously back to the pool. If cameras detect "acceptable" conditions, returning for charging, cleaning, etc., will be deferred.
Farzad, the edits make the video look very jumpy. So, we're not sure what was cut out.
I can name no CEO that can explain their products and technology in detail like Elon Musk.
“Next year for sure, there will be a million robotaxis on the road” He was off by a factor of 5+
So 4 years ago there were a million Tesla robotaxi's on the road ? 🤣
Be safe baby
Been along ago… coming to reality… thank you man… great content…. Wishing your wife to have good luck and healthy baby …early Congratulations!!
It's always been about the robotaxi.
He feels very confident at predicting sh*t
A lot has happened since then. Not many people let alone large company leaders can pivot and shift their focus better than Elon can. He absolutely needs more shares of Tesla to ensure he can effectively lead it to its goals. I sure hope his investors know this.
27:22 Hah, he says that FSD model is trained to provide lateral and longtitudal controls, like WASD controls or a joystick analog output. And from that the computer algorithmically makes adjustments to throttle, steering, braking. But I wonder where the turn signals are coming from then? I doubt they are possible to deduce from just WASD controls.
Yet if you watch videos it certainly does!
