One more easy trick to use: You can throw the boomerang at any piece of heart, and it will retrieve it and bring it right to you.
There are only a few you can do that for, and most, if not all of them have other methods that don't lose you time over using the Boomerang at worst, and save you time at best.
It actually works on every piece of heart in the game. It does not work on heart containers, which you get from defeating bosses. @@devonm042690

This is a wonderful beginner guide to some of the staple tricks for running randos (including some tricks that are considered in logic). Well done! If you do a follow up video for more of these, I recommend teaching Ground Jumping and King Zora Skip (Mweep Skip) as well as Reverse Wasteland! All super useful to have. Cheers for helping make the community more accessible!

These videos have great quality. I’m still essentially a beginner, but I’ve been grinding randomizers for about a couple months now.
These were definitely some of the first glitches I learned, and are absolutely useful.
I started randomizers because of the Deku B1 Skip, no items.
As for some of the tricks, the Cucco waterfall skip, as you said, is not precise. If it gives you trouble, you do not need to run and change angle, you can just aim towards the wall, and hold forward.
I do not believe the same can be said for the Adult Hover variant.
The Death Mountain Crater is also not precise. You do not need a setup, as it’s better to align with one of the walls, and back walk until you make it. The extra speed from back walking gives you more leniency.
Lensless guide for BOTW is a lot better than just ramming your head repeatedly like I did, but for those new, make sure to try before consorting a guide. Memory stuff is better.
And I know that the understanding of the BOTW actor glitch is more advanced, but performing I think might be worth for beginners.
And lastly, the Adult Mido has one more thing. If you have a elemental arrow, you can equip that and hold the bow, just not shoot it.

This is all really great information and I appreciate you sharing. A lot of this I had planned to do in a future video. While DMC is not precise, I did want something someone who has never tried a glitch or trick before could follow.

I think my favorite is Zora's Domain entry with Cuccoo, simply because there was a long stretch of time I was playing under the assumption I had it turned on, only to find out it wasn't and I was actually breaking logic all the time. So there was that lmao

FYI, you can also grab the Piece of Heart in the windmill with the Boomerang. As child Link you can get 21 Heart Pieces before entering Temple of Time glitchless.
You can also use the Hover Boots from the right side of the Zora's waterfall as an adult.

Early BotW with Navi Dive is a trick that super helps all kind of randomizers bc of how many checks it lets you get early, and it is shockingly easy to pull off, being easier than ground jumps or other beginner tricks imo. If you plan on making another one of these for slightly more complex tricks, I recommend this as well as passing the spikes in that one low room in water temple without longshot (using hover boots)
Funny you mention the spikes. If you want to learn EVERY trick that Water Temple has to offer, then definitely stick around. Navi dive may be in a future video. This video was specifically for very easy things that aren't glitches.
Great Tricks i also suggest learning Ground Jump its quite easy and can help in a few places, liek skiping Sacred forest meadow labyrinth or getting to bomb bag chest in dodongo faster (where you need slingshot).
For something slightly more advanced you can also learn to skip the Song of Time blocks in Forest Temple but i dont suggest doing that without a guide

Correct. It is not considered a trick for Ocarina of Time Randomizer like the tricks shown in here.
The Hover Boots trick for Death Mountain Crater is WAY more generous if you backwalk. It's so generous that it doesn't really require a positioning setup from the loading zone. Just face the wall to the right of the entrance, equip hovers, hold Z, and go for it.
Oh yeah, there's plenty of ways to do it. I just chose this way because it feels most beginner friendly. As someone who was once a beginner, anything involving back walking scared me.

I've had the same ZFG zootr tricks video bookmarked forever, it's like 4 1/2 hours long, and it's the only reliable resource out there, it's a pain to scrub through it just to see one trick. I'd love a series covering everything that video offers in a format like this.

You can also do it without setup or backwalking, just run straight at the steep-looking slope on the right side, it's not slippery.
The 3 heart challenge: do not pick up even a single heart piece. Every single boss and most enemies as adult link will one shot you. One hit, you die. No faeries allowed. The funny thing about this is that the hardest part of this is the ice dungeon where you get the iron boots. Spirit, shadow, and ganon’s tower are all fairly simple to do without getting hit. Bomchu > darknut.
That would be tuff to pull off in a randomizer since you don't know what you're getting until after you have it. But you could turn on quadruple damage or OHKO (One Hit KO).
Instructions unclear, did a HESS and ended up in Majora's Mask.

I like your mic. And the level of detail here. Where do I go to get into OoT randomizers?
I'm continuing with more trick videos so there will be more to learn. You will need your own 1.0 ROM of Ocarina of Time. While it's possible to find a ROM online, I do suggest dumping your own ROM if you can.
As far as playing, all you need is an emulator to play, a rom to patch, and ootrandomizer for patching your rom.

... Why do the Windmil peg/platforms only allow climbing from one side? Weird N64 colliders, I guess.

i did a few of these after much trial and error. i like to dupe skulltrula tokens so i could get the final 1/4 of a heart.
Top easy tricks. Number 4: Memorize the entire dungeon.
It's really not that much to remember.
What about the trick for getting the adult Fishing Pond reward as a child?
I only consider something a trick if it is a glitchless action you can do to bypass usual game requirements or expectations. I believe what you described is a glitch. I'm saving glitches for later.
