1st 😘Think i may go with the kit version although the colours on this look insane! Great looking brushless conversion too i think it looks great. I hope the drivetrain holds up on this. Definitely a great way for a lot of people getting into the hobby with parts everywhere. UK spares/body prices are outrageous at the moment but i hope they get that sorted and it could be perfect for a lot of people before moving on to a 4s or 6s truck. Cheers bro
Thanks brother! I hope it is a good jumping off point for beginners, cool that's it's 100% RTR out of the box. I did under gear it as it was the first time out. I have 20t pinion and a 4s ESC that's begging to light that motor up 😂 Shame about Arrma supply/costs there 😥
Not technically a kit, it's in four pieces and you just fit them together.

Oops is right. Lol. I'm sure you could put a fan over that open space but, I believe it's meant for a receiver box. If you go to the Arrma site, under the Gorgon, there's a brushless upgrade button. It has some suggestions, including the box. Just guessing.

That's a fun fact of the work of RC: even your most amazing, super epic RC, such as the Xmaxx, is not enough. You just gotta catch them all right? One is not enough, even if it's as perfect and fun as the Xmaxx. What's the life without an Arrma, MJX, Wltoys, Rlaarlo and do super silly things with them?

Great video buddy. I like how you shared the trials and tribulations of making an RC video. It would be so much simpler to just repost AGT videos and have millions of viewers but what fun would that be. We struggle out in the heat and cold, have to drive to location and constantly repair our RC's. You sure struggled in the slime but it made for a great video. 🦾

I’ve still got my original 2012 raider. Damn good car, one of the reasons I stayed in the hobby. Ended up trading the crappy blx85 granite for a rustler and that kicked off my traxxas collection. I’ll also admit that I’ve been wanting an SCT lately and I’m really torn between upgrading a bl 2s slash or the new Mojave 4s. ARRMA appear to have fixed every gripe I have about them with the Mojave 4s but I can’t really trust reviews that much since I seem to be the only person that has issues with arrmas
An upgraded metal spur gear might be in order, them plastic one don't last long

I think so, this is a test for how well it's received. It's a great beginner truck for sure! But my bet is on a buggy style that will be brushless out of the box 😉

Stock with moderate use of throttle, I'd say about 25mins. You can turn the speed down on the transmitter so it's a lot slower and would be amazing for a 6yr old 👍

Well don't feel bad getting the connections wrong on your adapter, I bought some new batteries once and soldered the connectors on backwards and blew up the ESC in my Aeroscout, I ordered another ESC and blew it up also before I grew a brain and watched a video on why my ESCs kept going up in smoke lol and one of the first things the video said was make sure your connectors are soldered on properly, at that moment I swear it took everything in me not to punch a hole in my tablet 😂 Boy I felt like a true idiot, it cost me around 35 bucks a pop 🤦🏻 That was some expensive smoke and they didn't put out nowhere near as much as yours 😂🤣

It looks like a cool truck and it’s nice to have another option, but I’m not really understanding why a beginner would want this over the Boost vehicles which are only 30$ more and can be upgraded to 4wd, and has waaaay more aftermarket parts as well. This truck would be 10 times better if it was 4x4 upgradeable. I’m still going to get one.
Being 100% RTR out of the box is a big draw too for the holiday season I think. The 4x2 is also a great idea, but I think this is for people who don't want to wrench at all and just play 👍

@@disciplinerc ordered the one without the charger and battery since we have a ton of lipos and a charger. This is gonna be fun she started with a voltage we made 3s so this is great.
Can you controll it in the air? And do you know how fast it goes brushless?
I didn't get enough launch time to really test it out. Also didn't run my GPS, but I geared it low the first time out. I'd say it was doing 35mph easy. I'll have more to cover in the next video 😉

Did you calibrate transmitter an esc or just bind an go. It might not be running at 100% if throttle not calibrated.
I did, but the kV is really low. The motor is meant for 4s and mod 1 gearing....so I will have to do something about that 😉
@@disciplinerc yeah did see the kv but so many people just slap a new transmitter on a old esc calibrated to original controller and just bind a new one to it an play not realising that they could be out of calibration by 5-10% so I had to ask.

Unless and until they make metal gears for these, I refuse to consider these brushless ready. The blx85 granite I had was the biggest pile of crap I’ve ever bough in this hobby. Shredded the diff gear every few packs on the weaker castle sv3 1410 combo I had to use since the ARRMA combo never worked right. Mind you even on that crappy system I didn’t manage to break a set of gears before installing the castle system.
I hear that, I've shredded a few ring gears, input shafts, spurs on the BLX for sure. This rear drive is fixed with zero adjustability, so from the factory it's set. Here's hoping it doesn't grind to dust 😅
