    So what do you do if something goes wrong with the coils between the two layers of cement? Looks like you would either have to throw the whole thing away or break the cement

      Can't be fixed. But these coils are heavy duty and well protected. I'd be surprised if they fail.

      yes, although modern cars can also use peltier modules that can both cool and heat seats.

    Why not have a layer of fiberglass, then apply the heating element and apply more fiberglass?

      Because why adding more layers if the special concrete will work? Fiberglass is only good if you want it to be light, but it's not that needed for an outside chair.

    In Europe we just use blankets when we're cold or better yet we stay inside. We don't waste 6 grands in a concrete bench lol.
