This one was supposed to be a Closer Look for the Undisputed fight, as we all hoped for a final announcement this week. Unfortunately, boxing is never straightforward - so the best we can hope looks like the end of this year! I still thought I'd release the Closer Look but using a different title.. Actually - Usyk (mistype) holds 5 belts (including Ring). Usyk should be the A side without question. Fury doesn't want the fight - he doesn't deserve the fans he has. Love or Hate AJ, but he fought Usyk and lost twice. Fury can't even get in the ring with Uysk.
@Richard S Usyk walked away closing the negotiations based on a different fight. Fury agreed to everything for the fight, Usyk added the REMATCH CLAUSE, but the WBC told Fury's side that there will be no rematch, the other orgs are not interested in a unified champ, whatever happens, the belts are going to be split up. Usyk is asking for a rematch clause that doesn't have all the belts involved. Usyk walked away, Fury is still in camp.
It's clear Fury didn't want the fight, but the split is not that ridiculous - Usyk was given 20% of the take for a fight with Tony Bellew after Usyk had unified the Cruiserweight division.
While his profile amongst the average PPV buyer has risen since defeating AJ twice, Usyks name is less of a draw than Fury's.

Usyk called his bluff when Fury tried to price himself out of the fight. Fury got 70/30 AND it's in Wembley (your home court), yet you can't accept one rematch clause JUST because the rematch won't include a belt that, just a month ago, you were about to retire from and vacate anyway?

Fury's team just arranged the fight with Usyk and now they have a fight. Fury wanted the fight, he proposed it to Usyk and Usyk said yes. So much for ducking.
Very few bigger Tyson fans than me. I celebrated his victory over Klitschko and followed everything closely after. His trilogy with Wilder gave me some of the most exciting moments of my boxing-fan life. So watching him duck the best fighters, making BS excuses at every turn, contradicting himself one comment and interview after another has been a massive disappointment. We'll probably see Fury-Chisora 10 before we see Fury-Usyk One. I laughed at the idea Fury was afraid of Usyk when it was first proposed. But now I can't find any other explanation. But then again, we all need to keep in mind that in reality Fury is certifiably crazy. It might be unrealistic to expect him to behave rationally.
Klitschko was 39 and fading...Just keeping it real.....Bumsquad was a one punch king who only fought retired forklift drivers..Fury is ducking for a reason.

It's true that Wilder is a one-punch fighter, but over 3 fights Fury managed to stay awake, and that's not to be dismissed. Thing is, I believe Fury would beat Usyk. I think Fury believes it too. But he's too much of a coward to even take the chance. People have been tough on AJ, but at least he has fought anyone put in front of him and let go of his 0 with grace (not counting the rant after the 2nd Usyk fight).

The buildup to this fight is monumental, and can’t wait. Hope the Jolly Green Giant doesn’t “get injured” in training, and delay the clash. I wouldn’t put it past him…Fury has a history of “ducking”. If this happens, strip him of his belt. Best step into the ring, and find out how crappy of a boxer he really is. Usyk gonna school him.

A focused Fury is boxing evolved to it's highest state ever. 277 lbs of brutal jabs, snappy punches, slick head movement, good footwork, granite chin, relaxed stamina and great intelligence.

Fury is overrated. His resume is full of past-their-prime HW's and is unimpressive if you look past the face value. His best win is Deontay Wilder who is absurdly overrated himself. I say that as a Wilder fan but it's absolutely true. Tyson is straight up duckin Usyk and for good reason. Uskyk is so problematic for Tyson and would be by far the most technically skilled opponent he's faced. The fact that Usyk publicly gave in to an absolutely absurd demand of a 70/30 split speaks volumes about this fight. Usyk holds 3 of the 4 belts and so that split is downright disrespectful. He accepted it though because he is the true legacy fighter. Tyson can call himself the best HW of all time and talk about legacy until he's blue in the face, but until he fights and beats Usyk it means nothing. Fury is a big ole dosser.
