Something interesting to note: the gem collecting sound is more subdued in Spyro 1 as opposed to the more extravagant one in 2 and 3, just like the originals and despite being basically in the same game now. That's real attention to detail right there
Yeah I noticed that ages ago, it's awesome!! :D Spyro 1 wouldn't feel quite right with the louder sound and vise versa for 2 and 3.
Their shapes all match in 1 while the sequels show them with their unique designs as well.

I love Gavin. Something about a super buff dragon saying "when he eats butterflies he stays strong like me" is just the funniest thing. I also love how the disappearing animation is him kissing his flexed arms lol
I adore the character/expression and designs given to each of the dragons, it makes them feel so much more unique on top of their voices. Just from the 10 or so seconds of interaction between them and Spyro, you can tell what their personalities are like.

When I first played the original I always wanted to go past that barrier at 5:29 and escape deep into those beautiful green hills. I also wished I could build a house there and actually live in the game for the rest of my life.
To be clear I was 12 years old at the time. But yeah, I'm 32 now and escaping in those hills actually still seems like a really good idea.

With the more realistic animation and readable expressions, and the different, more personal designs, I feel the dragons are more likable now. I can feel how they truly count on Spyro and are eager to teach him so he will get stronger and become able to defeat Gnasty. Oh also I love the new "invisible barrier" effect. I was actually wondering what they would look like. It seems they didn't go with the usual "hexagon field" look everyone's doing nowadays.
I always liked the idea that in addition to a practical purpose (keeping players from going out of bounds of the level), those barriers had a purpose in the story, namely keeping Gnorcs out of Stone Hill, hence why we don't see Gnorcs there.

This is my headcanon now.
There was another level that did this, I forget the English name, something like... Town Cliff? Cliff Town? The Gnorcs were able to invade it since it was out of the barrier's bounds, but they couldn't enter the desert!

I think any of the adult dragons could easily stop Gnasty if they wanted to, but decided to let Spyro take care of it, as a rite of passage or something.

I can see from Gildas change in dialogue how the game will work in the control department on different platforms. Since he didn't say "X Button, Triangle Button" He instead said "Jump Button, Action Button".
Other games from the PS2 era broke the fourth wall by referencing the buttons. Didn’t think it still happened today

Seriously guys, this kind of BGM on-the-fly mixing in video games has existed for decades. Little Big Planet had it, and that came out in 2008.

Oh my god the new Spyro is so adorable. I cannot wait to play and see what all the villains look like. I'm seriously dying to see how they redesigned Ripto.
I love how unique the dragons look, what they are wearing and how they move around. It makes them feel more alive and these dragons feel like they are from the world they are named after. One is covered in paint and has a giant brush while another has tattoos. Some of the older dragons are hunched over or leaning on something.
I can't wait for this to come out. Will be first spyro I've played since it was out for Xbox

I love the sound the thief makes when he's defeated. Very reminiscent of the original
I love how the stone dragon appearance is reminiscent of the dragons in legend of Spyro. Also I’m sensing a hint of the crystal smashing sound in those games when you destroy a metal crate in this game. Very interesting

Dang! They got everything spot on here!! I'm so hecking excited for the release, which I dont mind being pushed back. I'm so glad Toys For Bob has been so attentive and fan-centric through this process.
I love how a little drum riff is added for charging and the fluid dragon animations. I think of all the showcases, Spyro 1's levels seem to have the most marked improvement.

This is what I'd love for a lot more old game series. Not reboots, but simply gorgeous updates like this. Braking the games out of thier old visual limitations, but remaining true to their spirit.

love how the dragons have more of a personality here than in the original games.
They really couldn't do much with the technology they had when the original games came out, so it only stands to reasons that the animation for the remastered games would be better. Still, I can't help but love the goofy voices and animations of the original game.

Nice, there is a great attention to detail (and that's why it bothers me that all the trees are the same).
2 nice things I noticed here, the dragon statue jingle sound is perfectly identical if not exactly from Spyro 1. And Spyro does his lil tail wiggle when gliding like on the original also.

I hope these companies keep cashing in on this PS1 revival trend. I believe a remake/remaster of Twisted Metal 1 & 2 would be EXCELLENT if handled with the finesse that Spyro and Crash have been treated to.

This remake probably has the record for most unique dragon models in a modern game. How many sets of wings, heads, feet, etc, did they need to model?
One thing that always bothered me about the other dragons, is that they're all bipedal, and Spyro is quadrupedal. Is this just an oversight? Or is Spyro deformed? Did he suffer some debilitating illness or injury that has forced him to walk on all fours? This is the deep lore I'm sure Vaati will be making videos about on release.

Logan Chitwood I think they did it to make Spyro stand out as different. I saw somewhere they were originally going to make him bipedal & an adult, but changed their minds. I also think they just made him younger so he’s not bipedal ‘yet’
Spyro isn’t an adult and everyone else is.
I always assumed it was implied that Spyro is only quadrupedal because he's still a baby. If you look, he has thumbs on his front paws and not his back ones, which could suggest that he'll learn to walk on his hind legs once he gets older.
Spyro is very young. In Year of the Dragon it's implied that he's only 12.

I'm angry that the release date has been set for November! I was really excited to play this next month.
The delay was kind of a good thing if you think about it, because at least it wasn’t rushed out like “Enter the Dragonfly”, and at least they’re still making it. It could’ve been cancelled.

PG, you and the Spyro The Dragon fan community out there should team up to make a complete mod overhaul of the fan-favorite Spyro The Dragon game, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage, call: Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage 2 where Ripto wants revenge on Spyro for defeating him in Winter Tundra and this time he's got a brand-new evil plan so brilliant, so incredible and SO unbelievably sinister than any one could possibly ever imagine in a million years, it'll most definitely beat Spyro for sure.

I hope they fix the gliding animation. It's so unrealistic. Spyro just floats there like a log. It looks really good though. Does anyone else think the heavy shadows give this level an entirely different feeling?

I like the new voice too. I still love the original's voice as well, but this developer has been doing this game absolute justice for the fans.
