    I recorded this video with Martin last year and realized I never made the video public.
    Here it is! Thanks Martin!

    Thank you Ronen for sharing this excellent video. For those who are interested, be careful with some older accordions that have their pallets attached to the rods with bees wax. Don't hold the pallet down, but only touch the rod. If you press on the pallet and the key, the pallet will just break off from the rod. It would then need to be rewaxed to the rod. Love any repair videos as I have been continually teaching myself accordion repair.

    Can you make a video with Martin, what kind of fixes we better not try doing ourselves and seek professional help. Thanks for video Martin and Ronen...

    I believe you could do some series video regarding how to maintain the accordion, how to do the regular cleaning, where to particular clean and etc. Buying an accordion is a huge investment.

      Agreed! It would have to be in an accordion repair shop as the tools required are there.

    Thanks for this guys, have just levelled up a key on my instrument. It was barely 0.5mm higher than the adjoining keys but was bugging me never-the-less.

      @@moshezuchter As an aside, I'm amazed how much the sound changes with grille on & grille off! Obviously it will vary from instrument to instrument as grille designs vary hugely. Have you experimented with this at all? Which makes me wonder...have any accordions been made with grille shutters/swell doors at all?

    • @moshezuchter
      @moshezuchter  Před rokem +1

      @@Wheels-Wheels-Wheels Yes and yes! Grill affects sound BIG time. Sometimes if I'm playing a show and need to be loud I'll remove the grill entirely and play right into the mic :) And yes, a few accordions I've seen have little switches that open and close the grill for muting / dampening the sound. Almost like a cassotto :)

    This was great information... I noticed my key was bent... but I had no idea what caused it... after watching this I am very careful with the location of the straps when moving my accordion.

    Hello I just inherited a Vintage Caruso model 300 It sounds amazing but some of the keyboard keys are slow to respond-sluggish! One key was raised a bit and thanks to your video I leveled it off. It has not been played in 25 years. Is there a way to get the slow keys to speed up? Maybe lubricate them with a special oil? Thanks for your help!

    I use a hohner Atlantic 4 Deluxe accordion. One of the white switches that changes the tones is not holding when it is pressed. Please guide me in fixing it.

    My air release button fell into the side of my bass notes, how do I open it up and fish it out?

    • @moshezuchter
      @moshezuchter  Před 3 lety

      Oh no! You'll need to open up the left hand side of the accordion... there are four screws holding down the accordion's "legs". You can see Martin opening up the left side here: czcams.com/video/cl5HQbbg3KI/video.html
      Once open, have a look for your air release button. Not sure how to re-attach it, but at least you'll find it :)

    Thank you for the video but most accordion you take the chance of breaking the wood key. Always bend the key rod close to the key and hold the rod not the key. Do not keep your straps in the front of the accordion and this will not happen. Your straps should always stay in the back of the accordion. Thank You
