McDonalds has the laziest releases possible. They just take what they already have and throw an ad campaign behind it and call it new by adding a sauce. Rinse repeat.
They're REAL stingy.
Taco bell, same thing; they have about 10 different ingredients they just combine and heat in different that's it. Nothing new is actually "new"... but some combinations and preparation methods are superior, lol.

Made my Yearly trip to Mcdonald's the other night because I refuse to pay their crazy prices very often. Cost me $20 for a big mac, fries and a 10 piece nuggets. no bueno.

A few years ago, it was feasible to stop at a local fast food restaurant for a quick meal after work. But it’s not worth it anymore. People will be doing it less and less often.

The minimum wage in a state like New York was around $11 in 2020 and now it is around $16. What do you think will happen when fast-food restaurants are forced to pay more money for the wages of their employees? They pass on the increased costs to the consumer.

I got food poisoning from Jack & The Box the burger meat didn't cooked all the way I was throwing up & other stuff my parents and brother sister freak out that time was on road trip from family house from other state

I just can’t do the prices. The job market lack of increase in salary vs the increase of everything else is unsustainable. Don’t get me wrong, I’m living vicariously through Review Brah for the new items. But there’s just no way to justify paying double what you paid 4 years ago for a complete meal for a single sandwich.

@gtothereal where are you? Here, many of us were limited to 1% increases the last 3 years. Minimum wage did go up but is still very short of a living wage. With inflation, my husband and I are not making any more than we did 4 years ago.
As a Cajun from Acadia Parish, Louisiana, the home of Cajun food, and a manager at McDonald's, it's absolutely an atrocity. It's absolute blasphemy.

Iberia Parish here. There's nothing Cajun about this sandwich. If they're associating spicy with Cajun, then they don't even have that part right. It's not a bad sandwich, but they need to drop the Cajun bullshit.

Food critic gets food poisoning in ■■■■ ? Story checks out! 🤔
As a cajun from southeast Louisiana I can testify that there is absolutely no such thing as a cajun ranch sauce. I will also add that anywhere outside of South Louisiana that claims to serve "cajun food" in reality the food has a high chance of not even resembling anything that is actually "cajun". Some places think if it is burnt, salty and heavily spiced that somehow they can claim it is cajun. Nope.
No one cares. This is fast food.

As someone who grew up with a Cajun grandma, I feel your frustration.
Cajun seasoning + ranch sauce = Cajun ranch sauce. Does not matter where you live.
I'm not sure about the United States but, in Canada, those deluxe chicken sandwiches that were around for the best part of a decade starting in 2007, if I remember correctly, were called "McBistro". The Southwest Chicken sandwich was definitely my favourite McDonald's Canada chicken sandwich ever and I'm gutted that they never brought it back after they dropped the McBistro range (and I'm using the word "dropped" in the classic retail sense, meaning they got rid of it, and not the stupid modern sense, which pretty much means the opposite of what "dropped" used to mean).
I tried the spicy McChicken sandwich the other week and it wasn't quite as spicy as the Wendy's spicy chicken but it came pretty close.
You've unlocked a memory. The McBistro was so good in comparison to other McDonald's options.

Imagine pulling up to the drive through by 6:00pm to order your dinner, and you don't finish saying the name of your choice until 8:45pm because it's such a long freaking name.
Go look at transformers' packaging these days. Each has about a 6 level subline name before getting to the actual character name.
Imagine having your food delivered via GrubHub to your cold outdoor patio and then complaining that your fries and nuggets are cold.
After you continue talking for well over 7 minutes about how you wore an onion in your belt, which was the style at the time.
Literally everyone who has eaten at McDonald's knows that sides need to be eaten within 4 minutes.

I’m thinking that the fries served in the “Happy Meals “ are the ones that have been under the hot lights for sometime. Kids aren’t discerning enough to tell.

I remember back in 2019 when McDonald's actually introduced new sandwiches with their foreign menu. They had different toppings, different styles, even came with new mcflurries. Now they just add a sauce and call it a day.

I remember as an English kid living in the US in the 70's. The double cheeseburgers were sublime, probably because they were made of proper cheese. I found the same when I went back to the UK and would get a double or triple cheeseburger on the way home from the pub.Burger King back there used to do a beautiful mushroom double swiss. You can't get it over here. The closest I've found is Checkers.

In Canada, McD’s is offering “remix burgers” one is a “surf n turf” which is a McDouble with a Filet O Fish patty… IT SLAPS!!! The others are “chicken cheeseburger” and “sweet chilli jr. chicken”

The 2 best chicken sandwiches that Mickey ever had was the one they had in the 90's (forgot what the name was) and the spicy chicken sandwich that they came out with around 2007 and was very limited time- was awesome. Everything now sucks and will never be anything like back then.
For a non chicken sandwich- the "angus third pounder" was really good. I just looked up an article from 2013 talking about how people didn't buy it because it was a $4 item and that was too expensive compared to everything else on the menu. What fucking horrible times we're in now.
The Southern Style Chicken was the bomb.
When they killed it and their Southern Style biscuit, I quit going there for a long while.
Their 1980s offering was the best. Nothing special except the sauce, but that sauce was great.

You know I would still say that in my experience with McDonald's that their quality is more consistent than other fast food establishments. However, I do not usually order things other than the quarter pounder with cheese and the McDouble. I would say that I'm happy with the product. I get 80 to 90% of the time. Now if I go to other restaurants where i tend to order a higher variety of products, I will say that I am let down more frequently with the quality of some of the items.
Where McDonald's has really failed me is that their menu has turned into a gimmicky you must have the app to save money pricing structure. A lot of this has to do with the fact that people have phones, And can order individually however I feel this gives me greater pause to go to fast food restaurants. Knowing that they only are out to take every single cent away from you they possibly can. Therefore, I'm visiting these establishments far less frequently!
Agreed with the apps that almost force you to save money, especially when over half of the time their apps don't function as designed.
