@@DarkSnowGaming1 Twilight never saved Equestria alone. She always saved it with her friends. They were a team. It was whenever Twilight would attempt to solve problems on her own that she made the biggest mistakes.
Plus, Twilight is a unicorn, meaning that she can channel magic in a way that pegasi and earth ponies can’t. But that doesn’t make them lesser. We’re also introduced to unicorns in the series that are shown to be just as powerful as Twilight, such as Starlight Glimmer and Moondancer. Neither of them become princesses, but they are strong magic users who could probably create a new kind of magic as well, if tested. It just doesn’t seem right to put one character on a high pedestal above all the others. That’s like saying that Albert Einstein should become President of the United States because of his contributions to Science.

Twilight created her own magic just like Cadance created her own magic, I'm not sure but from what people explained, when ponies create a new type of magic then they ascend into an Alicorn, like how Cadance is the princess of love (love magic) and Twilight the princess of friendship (friendship magic).
Plus I am pretty sure it has something to do with being the bearer of the element of magic (it's a crown) and don't forget Twilight's leadership skills.

What was weired was when twilight got her castle celestia said “what is the princess of friendship without her friends” well she’s going to end up without them…

I don’t see why discord can’t make them immortal too? Unless the alicorns forbade that kind of messing around with life itself. He’d make fluttershy immortal in a heartbeat, hard to imagine him just… letting her die unless it was specifically against her wishes
@@miavika1074 Yeah, it's weird thinking about Discord just letting her die- I imagine he'd even go against everyone's wishes and break the rules to be sure the person he loves survives, even if he's not there beside her(bcuz she'd prob be mad). Yet in the books, fluttershy actually does die and it causes discord to become the equivalent of a deadbeat dad, but not a dad lol. A dead-beat god.

Celestia & Luna are natural born alicorns, meaning they will not age regardless of if they're rulers or not.
As for Twilight She will because she wasn't born an alicorn.

Only thing with Luster if they showed her ruling at the end of s9 I think it would be confusing given we have no knowledge really of her and she would of been sprung on as this whole new queen of equestria.

@@MrsMamaMallow i kind of agree, im a firm believer the show shouldve ended on 10 seasons instead of 9. i think then we couldve gotten a lot more of her and it wouldve made sense, or they couldve added luster dawn to g5 and it couldve worked that way too! but i do agree, if they made her the next leader of equestria with ONLY what we've seen of her, it would be a little confusing

The ending shed some tears yes but after getting over it- I kinda enjoy the thought that the last lesson learned about friendship would be that you shouldn't take it for granted. I didn’t like Twilight becoming an alicorn because I felt that it made her less relatable. It’s one thing when you have an protagonist who was born a princess because they are descended from Royalty, but Twilight was just a regular citizen of Equestria when we met her. I feel like making her Royalty despite having no connection to a Royal family lessens her relatability somewhat.

Twilight being an alicorn had already been a stab in my chest the first time I saw her, as I assumed that just like Celestia who was somewhat “immortal” or aged very slowly, Twilight would also stay alive for years, and, seeing the idea that the young apprentice who liked to be alone, be placed in an environment to create friendships and become an alicorn with the title of “Princess of Friendship”, doing her best to make friends and help them change their lives a little to be more sociable, end up in a future where she probably wouldn't have her friends with her because they were getting old and one day they would die and she would be there to watch and live "alone" (thanks to cadence and flurry she won't be totally alone) is surely painful, just imagine being in that situation? having these small group of friends you really like and don't exchange for anything in the world, receive immortality and see them get old and older why you stay there somewhat young and better is trully something depressing, she would see her parents go, her brother go, many of her friends go, (i bet mostly of them didn't had any foals with pinkie being an exception, allowing atleast that small memory of her friend to live on and have atleast flurry heart as an second next friend with cadence to not make her live trully alone), it made me quite depressive, and the stab was even BIGGER when watching the Gen 5 thinking it would start from where it ended, with twilight's new apprentice, new villains, spells... instead we see that Twilight's reign didn't last long and that the peace/friendship between the races and everything she went through to maintain and worked to keep was destroyed by such a... gosh, a villain soo generic with a even more generic plan that seemed like a rip off plan of what the last villains did, which was basically something that Twilight and her friends could deal with even more easily than what the group of villains have done first (Tyrek, Chrysalis and Cozy), and yet, in the show, her best plan was to take the magic of equestria and put then into stones and TRUST the ponies to keep friendship going, knowing they have already stop trusting eachother completely?? how THAT would stop opalline? she steal cutie marks, something that even starlight could do and would totally know how to counter spell that! and opalline would be an even easier match when we get to remember that, they still had possession of Grogar's bewitching bell and could simply take away her magic! and since twilight was a Ruler, she could just literally unite everyone there and explain how they we're manipulated, no race is more important or stronger than the other and get things back to normal more slowly, and slowly allowing the normal pony races to have better political positions of power to rule on her side to make her job easier and even see her new student and possible new elements to have a new role in that new world where they would start an era with actual science for that new world building, see some of the villains improve or even New villains like the real grogar and be able to see an Actual Alicorn Actually Fight and even have a small glimpse of maybe celestia and luna not holding back (since grogar's was a manace, this would really show how much of a threat he would be) and even bring new elements, a new element tree, new kingdoms and lands, new powers for the dragons as magic improved and bring small things that could be something possible for the gen 5, a future gen with modern problems but still with some magic!
but no, instead we have pony racism, cell phones and ponies wanting to be online influencers and of course, No Magic at first, and it gets worse when nothing from generation 4 was taken into consideration, considering the fact that generation 5 connected generation 4 in a VERY bad way which even discord exists and lives in a miserable situation... the poor guy didn't deserve this fate, even lost his friends! imagine if they add twilight in that spot as well?! oh and if you think you're going to learn something with this new generation, good luck with that, most of their problems are REALLY solved with magic and songs and when a pony brings a good answer for a problem and actually starts to talk something that makes sense... they bring a song and forget about it later... just like that, and the old villains? I have no idea if they still exist tbh, the other kingdoms? good luck trying to see them in the new generation, everything was destroyed in wars, they have probably gone extinct, dragon lord ember? nah, Ember moved back halfway and gave her position to Spike, who instead of looking like an all-powerful dragon or almost a buff spikezilla, looks like a hybrid of a long pony with scales, and not even the other dragons escaped that, it's the same thing but different colors and for some reason they have hair... Disappointing, good 3d stuff but disappoint in general, have new stuff but still a big F, atleast for me.
I personally have a soft spot for Twilight as an alicorn if not just for nostalgia. I was a part of the target audience when Magical Mystery Cure came out, aka a child, and I don't remember exactly what I first thought, but I do know it was probably the first piece of media, film, television, or book, that ever made me emotional, and through my childhood it remained one of my favorite episodes of MLP, tied with A Canterlot Wedding, Twilight's Kingdom, and Princess Twilight Sparkle. In fact, I loved alicorn Twilight so much that I even got mad at the show when they seemed to be shifting the focus onto Starlight and Trixie in season 6. Tbh I hated Starlight as a kid for being, as I thought at the time, a replacement Twilight😂

Thank you for the video. Like I have said earlier (in several comments) I didn't hate the transformation in season 3. I was happy for Twilight. I did however hate the fact how Twilight ended in the last episode. Especially that she became immortal. It was aggainst the promise of the writers: that she wouldn't outlife her friends. It's so against the premise of the show. I would have been happier if they make the end like this:
Twilight would still be a ruler of equestria, but she (and Cadence, since she has a husband and child) would get older and don't get any other body changes. She will choose a succesor (Lusterdawn) and she and her friends could enjoy a fulfilled life

I actually prefer Twilight as a Unicorn and kind of wish she never became an Alicorn or at least, not so soon as I would like to see her face the threats of Tirek, Starlight, the Crystal Heart's destruction, the Pony of Shadows, the Storm King and other challenges as a Unicorn and a non-royal.
Im just so confused over how she turned into a tall alicorn over just one episode.. how does that even make sense..
Plus that Luster dawn didn't even get a chance to appear other than one singular episode right before G4 sunny takes place.

0:52 i only started to watch MLP this year, in my 2nd week of watching it she was already an alicorn, i was literaly more sad watching the end of season 3 than watching the end of the whole show
how is her becoming an alicorn sad, the endgoal isnt for her to be an alicorn thats why its early on in the show, she needed to be an alicorn for the show progression but instead of starting her off as an alicorn they made her regular so that you could watch her become an alicorn and see how it happened. It was necesary, plus its way cooler

I think her becoming an alicorn was a nice push for her character. Sure it might have happened too soon. But it’s still a good thing in my opinion. Besides I think the last episode was more of a bittersweet moment. It may be unfair that she stays alive and they die. But that’s just how it is for alicorns. It’s sad. But true.

I don’t know. I think they just drew her bigger form as you’d imagine that she would be. Even the mane and tail. This is just my opinion though. I loved it. I didn’t really see any similarities between her and Celestia except for the wings.

I would watch my little pony as a kid on the family tv. And I had no idea of online discourse at that time. So when this episode came out on tv. I was sad because this really felt like the end of a series xD I was suprised when other episodes turned in after that.
I heard somewhere that ponies don't become alicorns because they earned or were rewarded it. It's because they need to be an alicorns to do what they will do. Like Cadence. In one of the comics she becomes an alicorns when she protected her village from a witch. That doesn't really seem equal to finishing an ancient spell. But if she didn't become an alicorn she couldn't protect the crystal empire.
this always felt like one of those lose lose situations. not making her an alicorn seems kind of unfair, she earned it as the friendship element, but not making her friends alicorns too seperates them, what is the princess of friendship whitout her friends? but making them all alicorns ruins the whole idea of an alicorn, then there'd be 9, that's just a species at that point rather than some god like royalty, that's way too much, but friendships is just not a thing you have on your own.

Because sometimes character development is somewhat so far enough to took it long and no longer regain their pre-character development once again later on.

Honestly I would of loved an extra episode or season even as they wrapped everything up to show their future selves more so. From if the rest of them had families of their own to whatever else they may be doing. We can assume a little such as rainbow dash looks as tho she retired from being a wonder bolt to instead becoming a coach to them. Fluttershy married to discord given she hopped out of his worldly portal. And of course pinkie who’s married to cheese with a foal of her own.
I am way more interested in equestria girls than the regular G4 story. I don’t know why. Maybe it’s because all seven protagonists get to be equals and get to have their own stories (thanks to the specials I must say), also Sunset, probably just Sunset.
The episode when Twilight became an alicorn - "Magical Mystery Cure" is my favourite episode of the show. It's so beautiful and well written and the songs are great too. I love Twilight as an alicorn. I think it represents her character growth and in my opinion the show became even more interesting when she got her wings. The only thing that bothers me though is that Twilight will probably live thousands of years and she's going to outlive all of her friends.

If Twilight didn't become a alicorn, the sisters wouldve eventually fought eachother again some time after the 6 had died, celestia wouldve had to find a new student and abandon her castle without anyone to run it besides her sister if another villian showed up creating more stress which couldve lead to alot of chaos. Twilight is a good balanced character, she has her flaws like anyone but she doesnt have anyone to arugue with anyone about her position and she has support. I mean no hate but I am glad they made her alicorn and soon her legacy will passed not by genetcs to rule but by her students and she already has decided which one is next. (If we ignore what happens in gen 5).

Wether or not it was a good change, I love that they took time to show Twilight’s struggle. And that struggle continued literally until the finale. She didn’t just become OP and that was that. What I hate more than unnecessary change is change that has no repercussions

I love that she became an Alicorn because it shows how magic worked(Alicorns have all three pony magic types; earth, pegasus, and unicorn) and that growing is natural
But the fact she will lose her friends one day(and had) and she instantly was known as royalty just because she was an Alicorn just felt wrong to me

I liked her when she became a princess
i watched this show years after it finished airing so i never found it werid for twilight to become an alicorn. on the other hand it doesn't make sense for all the mane 6 to become rulers ,twilight is the princess of friendship afterall and her friends and mentor taught her about friendship. it's sad that she will outlive them tho but nothing lasts forever even the greatest things
They seroiusly and honestly could have dine better with Twilight’s design at the end of season 3

I am ok with twilight becoming an alicorn. I am NOT ok with twilight becoming the ruler. Also, her friends had very young children yet they look like grannies, which is also dumb. If they wouldnt have shown the last episode, it also wouldnt have been that big of a problem. Finally, i feel like her friends shouldnt have become alicorns, as it just wouldnt fit them.
