He's evil because of the steps he took to achieve his goal, not the goal itself. But at the same time, he's no more evil than an evil Rick, because a lot of Ricks out there would happily sacrifice any Morty or alternate Rick to achieve their goal as well. He's a product of his surroundings; his surroundings being Rick.

I think when Rick said "It's a metaphor for capitalism" he was making fun off fan theories burning every rick and morty skit/joke down to a metaphor for capitalism.
I think he was making a joke about Akira? Which some people theorize is a critique of capitalism, especially since that weird blob sort of looked like the flesh mass from Akira.

Not my own idea saw it on another comment section but really liked it. Ricks color in the series is blue while Morty is yellow. So in most universes the completed portal gun is green a mix of both their colors. Rick's failed portals pre Morty were just blue. Evil Morty is breaking the cycle and getting rid of ricks controlling him is cutting the blue out of the green portal leaving one with his color alone the yellow portal. Its was just really good symbolism using their colors alone.

@@kevind2529 Yeah the blue is ricks teleport portal. But I also thought of it as his time before Morty. But there is defiantly a time period he had the green portal without Morty just in the flashback alone.
I was just thinking that the majority of ricks would have the portal tech alongside a Morty especially if they were brought into the citadel where we see the whole Morty market.
Its funny just how much a few color changes can make you think lol.
Blue would be where simple ricks would leave off

The strange thing is his dialogue reflected my own personal thoughts, just short of what I realized about myself recently though. I'll shoot straight, I inhibited myself. I censored who I was to the point where I was a self detriment. I was clouded by self doubt because I cared so much about what other people would think about me, even years after they left my life through repeated painful memories, placing expectations on my self that I thought they would want from me I couldn't possibly fulfill. The thing was I didn't realize I had been doing it, that this was the source of my anxiety for at least a couple decades that debilitated my social expression growing up. I didn't realize what I was doing until I stopped giving so much weight into what others expect of me to the point where I'd keep my true intentions & self expression a secret. I became far more skeptical of all the subjective nonsense I chose to ingrain into myself from other sources that simply weren't necessarily true, even from my own family, & I became somewhat more confident in my own thoughts. As if I'm far more versatile than the version of me I thought I was. I started being more honest with myself, & I stopped digging myself into a such a deep hole of unnecessary conformity. We can't possibly please everyone. No matter who you are there will always be opposition because everybody is looking out for number one in some regard, & we're not necessarily number one to them. Dare to be yourself anyway & hope your loved ones can understand; communicate while accepting your perception is not the absolute, think outside yourself, try to understand others through position projection as a way to make sense of their asserted beliefs, & respond as best you can with carefully thought consideration of whom you're talking to while asserting your filtered point. I hope Mr. Poopybutthole can do the same & salvage his life & loved ones if possible. It's not too late to bring about change, no matter the inevitable consequences our choices make. Learn from the mistake-filled past, make your choices in the present, & build towards a future never set in stone. The future people want for themselves won't get here unless they acknowledge the problems they can moderate in the now & work towards diminishing them. Ignoring them will simply allow them to fester until they break them down. Choose to break the cycle, the way only you can. Try to understand your own habits, why you've been doing them, & ask yourself rather or not these are habits you really want to keep doing - habits you have the conscious capability to drop.

Morty’s reaction to seeing ricks past was a little interesting. All he says is “dead wife?” Which makes me wonder if he also knew his mother died too and that he would have never been born into C-137’s family so technically speaking he never had a true morty and thats why when morty identified himself as morty C-137 those ricks looked at each other funny because it’s impossible

Since Rick C137 "created" The Citadel, and The Citadel is responsible for keeping the Central Finite Curve separate from the remainder of the multiverse, and Rick C137 hates the other Ricks for what they've done to his wife and daughter - I've become convinced that Rick C137 separated the Rickverse to protect *_the multiverse_* from the other Ricks.
That would make sense.

There is a bigger possibility that he created the Curve to protect the Rickverse from the Multiverse, cuz he feared that beings like Bill Cipher, Clthulhu, and others may come through. So Evil Morty might've dropped the gun when opening the only thing meant to keep their home curve safe.

You missed how middle aged Morty’s “Dumb” comment to the citadel mascot is exactly how Rick said it in the first episode they visit the citadel.
When two ricks blowdart Beth and Jerry, their eyes get big exactly like Jessica's did in Rick Potion #9. They used the same vole based love potion.
The best was giving Rick Guts' dragonslayer sword in that goofy anime intro, wonder if it's a little homage to Muira dying

That’s a good ass observation plus that would explain the episode when they went to the shrink and they were confused how the two were in love and if ricks were mass producing Mortys and practically breeding Beth and Jerrys what’s the chances our Morty is NOT an outcome of that shit if the curve is created by ricks than most of the universes on the curve are probably corrupted by the citadel

I was under the impression The Central Finite Curve was created AFTER the council of Ricks became organized. So there could still be Rick’s living on the Citadel who weren’t the smartest people in their universe

Yeah that's why he hates Jerry because he has the simple life that he wants.
I don't think so, the whole joke with Simple Rick is that the regular Ricks don't get to achieve self-completion, they are never satisfied so they took the one exception to that and exploited him for their own gain.
Basically, he's something no other Rick could ever be, he's complete, so I doubt any other Rick could be like him, specially C-137, since he is the Rickest Rick and therefore, the furthest from Simple Rick

Really appreciate going back and compiling clips from old episodes to provide the context. It was really valuable. The part at 15:15 with Jerry was particularly mindblowing if the writers intended this even back then.
These last two episodes made season 5 imo. Yes we got to see Morty become more independent and Rick become more "human" but all in all these two episodes was just amazing
But we're all in agreeance that that sperm episode is the worst episode of all time.

There's one detail you missed is a callback to one of my favorite jokes of the series. The hacked portal our Rick uses, someone gets thrown in and gets blended which is a reference to tales of the citadel where the rouge Rick takes a portal gun to leave but tests it on simple Rick who gets similarly blended and the rouge Rick says "portal to the blender dimension, that's oldest trick in the book!"
The remade version of Evil Mortys theme is what I now wake up to every morning

I really like this season finale, and it even feels like the series finale where all the main arcs converge for an explosive conclusion. Season 3 and 4 had their share of great episodes, but almost everything was built upon the assumption that the Rickest Rick and his dysfunctional family will never change (a point driven home by S5E2 where one of the Rick decoys said "I love my family" and got offed instantly). Now Rick changed dramatically twice in 2 consecutive episodes, and I am again eagerly looking forward to where they will go in the next season.
The citadel being a weapon of mass destruction is a reference to Mass Effect 1, 2 and 3.
Ooooh ooh! I'm an animal behaviorist and I can help you with this. The crow training was operant conditioning which is actually completely different than Pavlov's classical conditioning. The two crows have to volunteer to ring the bell to get the food. Pavlov's dogs did not voluntarily salivate. Pavlov just associated a natural behavior to an outside cue. It's two different training techniques.

All of this, makes you wonder how did the evil Morty found out about the curve, and what did his rick do to him. I mean he did not plan all of this JUST to get vengeance, he wanted freedom but clearly he was enjoying breaking the Rick and Morty cycle for good.
We will definitely find out eventually! My guess he’s connected to the evil Rick that murdered our Rick’s family.

Evil morty probably just heard about the curve alot of Rick's openly talked about it. Most of that happened in the citadel.
i love how we see at the start of rick and morty, justin went more towards the Doc and Mahrti style of voices, but now hes gotten deep into it, which is pretty cool, along with the saturation and colours used

that was the version I watched originally so I checked it out on CZcams later, it was really strange cause the scene was completely different.

I don’t think that Evil Morty breaking free of the Central Finite Curve automatically makes him the “alpha genius “ in the universes on the other side. It doesn’t have to be confined to just Rick or Morty. It could be anyone, in any given universe. Now, it doesn’t HAVE to be Rick in every one.
Technically, the bigger Omniverse is full of geniuses in their realities, like Stanford Pines, Azmuth, Dr Doofenshmirtz, Stewie Griffin, etc..

3:45 i would describe it as more B.F Skinners experiments that Pavlov’s. this is because he training them though positive reinforcement with the bell and the food to do what he wants so the crows will do what he wants when they hear the bell, while with Pavlov it’s more about connecting a response to an unconditioned stimulus though doing them at the same time and the person or creature without any control of either stimulus, like how the crows are ringing the bell.
Tbh I would not be surprised if even after everything that happens in this episode that in the premier next season that it does not effect much
