  • We're going to be adding some additional content here in the upcoming weeks and months about starting a drone business. We'll talk about the tools you might need in your drone business, tools you won't need, and the skills that can help make your drone business successful.
    This week I'm introducing the concept of creating web based presentations for Construction Progression clients who want to use drones to document their building progress. Normally many drone businesses shoot stills and videos for progression reports. They edit the video and stills, and then provide them to the client for download from sites like Drop Box. That still leaves the client having to assemble their final presentation. There are ways to help them with that!
    In this video I'll show you some samples of web pages designed to "deliver" useful and easy to understand information that can be simply shared with all parties involved in the project. I will be developing a few website templates for my drone business as it expands into other markets as well.
    I hope you find this one informative, and I hope it helps you as you build your drone business!

    Hi Rich, Where do I learn about orthomosaic, fundamentales, basics, how to use and apply

    • @AZ-Drone
      @AZ-Drone  Před 3 lety +2

      There are many videos here on CZcams talking about GIS applications, modeling with drones, how to export models, and more. If you're new to GIS (Geographic Information Systems) there are good basic pages explaining what Orthos are. Put simply, the orthos we create for clients are simple 2D models of their property created with drone flights and modeling software.
      As far as uses and applications. That's going to depend on what your clients are looking for. Do they really need a 2D or 3D model? Maybe they don't know everything you offer.

    Hi Rich, great video... Do you have a "How to Pricing" Teachable Course available? The "split" screen image viewer, can you zoom in/out? Also, in this video, is there a "Teachable" Course on how you set up your website, your website provider, etc.? Much appreciated.

I actually have several web development videos up from Zoom Meetings with Patreon members. On the Patreon channel check out the posts with the "Zoom Meeting" tag and you'll find several "initial website" setup videos, complete with some of the other Patrons following along.

    Thanks for keeping up on your videos. I signed up for and watched your course on Udemy and appreciate that because I'm using mostly the same sort of kit (Mavic 2 Pro/Metashape Pro). I'd like to see specific settings on how you are generating your 3d models because I've tried several times and don't get anything close to as smooth as you have demonstrated. I have tons of melted looking or rough walls so I'm trying to figure out why. I've played with a lot of settings, including the mesh by greatly increasing the number of faces and using the dense point cloud run on high settings to build it, to no avail. I've done orbit flights with Litchi just like you showed on your videos, edited the point clouds etc. but something just isn't right. Maybe you don't want to reveal too much to your competitors but I'd greatly appreciate a video on that topic.

      Scott Sweet good evening. You’re the second person in the last week that is having problems getting more out of the models generated. I’m very happy to share what I know. With that in mind I’ll be assembling a few more videos for the class in the very near future. I’ll be updating here as well. If you have some bigger questions right now to help you further drop me a contact at AZDRONE.net and we can chat further about what’s happening with your models.

    Did you use the cross-hatch feature in Map Pilot for this ortho or the "Normal Mission?" I'm trying to decide when it's worth the time and batteries to use cross-hatching. Thanks for all the great info!

    • @AZ-Drone
      @AZ-Drone  Před 4 lety +3

      Good morning. I just replied to your direct contact as well. Nice to meet you Terry! In the case of this site I did the normal mission not the cross hatch. Since it's just for a "top down" view where I had no interest in 3D modeling the 2D worked just fine.
      Also, I was desperately trying to avoid the residential homes right behind the property. I didn't want to fly to close to the if possible, so I planned the ortho accordingly. Always trying to be a good neighbor to the actual neighbors in the area.

    Great video, best I've seen that really explained a lot. I even clicked the bell icon, can't wait for future videos. One quick question however, what web application did you use to publish the 360 views for your client? I have a WordPress website is there a plug in that you recommend.

    • @AZ-Drone
      @AZ-Drone  Před 5 lety

      For the 360 panos I use Slider Revolution. It’s a pay for add on to the free version. There were several other add ons I wanted so that’s why I got it. There are several other 360 viewers that are free as well.

    • @AZ-Drone
      @AZ-Drone  Před 5 lety +1

      Wanted to follow up with the other 2 pano plugins I've used. I've tested out both PanoPress and WP Photo Sphere. Both work nicely. The reason I went with Slider Revolution was the fact that there were a few addons I wanted for it, so it made sense to use it. Sorry for my earlier short response. Still recovering from an un-fun sinus infection so I haven't been spending much time looking at screens. :)

      In the case of custom web pages for my clients, I use my own website. I build custom pages for the customers, and when ready send along the link and page passwords to the customers.
