U kidding man? C64 was known for having great composures working with its SID. For modern users look up Luk Hash and his song "Falling Apart". All of the chip tunes are performed live on the c64.
The thing is, the C64 was much more popular in Europe than in the Americas. In Europe and especially the UK we got TONS of C64 games with great music right up until about 1993 (with a conversion of lemmings appearing in 1994 :S) Thanks to Nintendo and the Nes most of you Americans missed out on just about every other 8 bit machine back then.
It was a bit tricky.. I don't remember how, but fortunatly I found the name Stefan Hartwig (that was the hard part). Then a simple google search for 'Stefan Hartwig myth loader' and voila: there is a hardsid url currently at the 7th place (can't copy in here). HVSC url: /files/C64Music/MUSICIANS/H/Hartwig_Stefan/Ultimate_Intro_Studio.sid
Shadow Wolf It's okay man, humans don't get that wolves live much shorter lives than us. Especially shadow wolves. Dire wolves live for a good piece, but most only have "wolf years" if you get my drift.
If the same game was made today it would sound like today's music. The music sounds good because of technological limitations that make it sound simple and not too auto tuned
Great find! :) Little detail: not sure who has the later HVSC version, but in mine it's called: /MUSICIANS/H/Hartwig_Stefan/Ultimate_Intro_Studio_tune_07.sid
this game had so much potential. if it had of been a SNES RPJ then it might of ended up being one of the best 3rd party games on the console, possibly inspiring an entire lineage of games. in fact the 3rd and 4th generations of consoles arguably had the most impact, especially when compared to how many minute variables there where that could of changed everything.
Hmm, can't find it either... found this on nectarine... doesn't help much: "Actually not even Charles Deenen or Jeroen Tel knows who did this tune for MYTH C64 intro, but it is in the game, so because there is noone to credit I entered Maniacs Of Noise as an author."
I feel disgusted at people calling this "Dubstep". It is NOT even remotely close to that garbage. It's not Techno either. I dont know what to classify this as myself, but I'd put this as chiptune/8-bit.
It is indeed chiptune, now composition wise I'd risk saying Synthpop, because this is some 80's Jan Hammer shit... I should show this to my dad. it's the only kind of electronic music he can dig.
I made the t-shirt! As a kid I always wanted something like this, so... Here: www.teepublic.com/baseball-tee/250512-myth-history-in-the-making I hope you fans enjoy this. ;-)
It's most notable for its sweet musics!
I'll admit, I came after hearing this on the JonTron show...I'm glad I came :D

But seriously, damn good song.
Is it just me....or is that Han Solo holding a lightsaber to the heavens?
Looks like Lando to me
want this to play in the credits of my life
+Let'sGo2Space I'd go for something more epic. Maybe Here's to You, or Dvorak's From the New World's 4th movement.
insert jontron dancing with a sword here 0:17
I feel it's important to mention that Stefan Hartwig is the composer of this track.
And this came out in the 80's? WHOOOOAH!
Sweet musics
your avatar makes that all the better
maan, 1980 times was scaaarryy

Conan covered, JonTron made love to a sword, and sounds like Kavinsky! Glad to be here

Thanks JonTron!
how did the Commodore 64 get this good music wise lol
JonTron was right when he said that they should have spread the music out across the game. :'
Nice one! I used to listen to this over and over! Thanks for this I loved this tune. What great gaming days they were :)
Been looking for this for a while, thank you
Done so damn well, and only using 3 instrument sounds at a time too.
So freaking SWEET!
JonTron brought me here.
Now that's a really good beat.
This is now my new ringtone.
JonTron
this is a cool soundtrack for a game made on a commodore 64

I don't really consider computers like the C64 the same as PCs They (C64, ZX Spectrum etc) were generally known as Home Microcomputers.
Awesome!

Fuck yeah
Ladies and Gentlemen, this was on Commodore 64 and it's fuckig better what todays "artists" make!
LORD WHeaTLy As I stated earlier in this comment mess, when this game was made i wasn't born, I am 17 year old, born in 1998.
Shadow Wolf It's okay man, humans don't get that wolves live much shorter lives than us.

Great find! :)

JAN TRAN
I found this because of my Commodore 64, not this Jon Tron bloke.
Does this remind anyone of Hotline Miami ?
In the next hotline game they should hire the artist(s) that made this
+cyb0tism Love child of Hotline Miami and Drive Soundtracks :D
+cyb0tism
Looked through the comments for this. Nice.
+cyb0tism yeah!
Wait, some one gave this a thumbs down?

Obviously it's chip tune. As a rule of thumb, if it sounds like this because of limitations, it's chip tune.
A. Nodnoc SID and chiptune are different. No gameboys here.
No need to classify it. Just listen to the glory.
Doesn't the Genesis and Turbografx-16 use that Yamaha chip that the Soundblaster cards also use for the OPL thing?
Where can I find it in HVSC?
deresajarahorseradishupthereidunnowhatitisissscary
