Another fun fact about our King Willie: He served in the Royal Netherlands Navy. He was later honourably removed from his military position since the ruling monarch is technically part of the governemnt ('regering'), which runs the military. Thus he couldn't remain in the military, and was removed from that position. He was also reservist in the Navy, Army, and Air Force, and Marechaussee (the military police). Since he is head of state, he can only wear his military uniform with the royal insignia, but his ranks can not be honoured on this (or these) uniform(s).

2:30 One thing to mention is that every company, older then a 100 years may call itself *Royal* as an honor to the service that it has given to the Netherlands. Think about the jobs provided and the tax that has been paid. There is no difference between a flower shop or an airliner.
Also, a company can get the name *Royal* if it's (partly) owned by the state. Of course the Netherlands is a kingdom, but in fact it's a republic with a royal PR department.
