I always think the 3rd film truly captured the world of what Harry Potter was. And Williams score truly matched it! The films after, for me, never captured the same… magic… if you will.

I think its called window to the past because harry reminds lupin of his past , his dead best friends . And because when sirius escaped he finally remembered the Sirius black he knew in his teenage years and not the so - called traitor sirius black .

When ever I feel down, Harry Potter is my world I escape to. The music just helps me escape this stupid world and just go into a world full of magic and wonder. This is a stupid and cruel world. Harry Potter helps loads.

I grew up with the Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and Pirates of the Caribbean. Those movies are truly magnificent, and no matter how many years it's been since I was a little child, those movies will always be a part of me, of who I've become. I'm glad I grew up with them. Now that I'm 23, many of the soundtracks make me cry, for example this one. Yeah, it just... wakes up something inside of me. Not sadness, nor happiness... I guess it's nostalgia, and the fact that those songs are so beautiful...

When I was younger I never really liked the prisoner of Azkaban but after years of watching and reading Harry Potter I have found that it is now my favourite of them all. It’s simply perfection
When I first saw the movie the scene when Harry's aunt got blown up scared me so much, that i didn't watch the movie in several years later. Now it's just funny, and i love the movie though. Expecially Lupins wardrobe trunk.
I think prisoner of Azakaban specially did not do justice to the material we have in the book

It reminds me of the 12 lonely, grief filled bitter years that Remus spent alone shunned from job to job.. all those full moons he hurt himself , missing his pack, wishing for his cub. All those years he spent wondering how on earth Sirius could have done this, betrayed them, broke them, his family, his brothers. It reminds me of the 12 years Sirius spent in Azkaban blaming himself for the deaths of James and Lily, regretting trusting Peter with the secret, regretting suspecting Remus to have turned against them, missing his pup :'( wondering where Harry would be, would he be safe, loved? wondering if Remus would ever forgive him. And the 12 years Harry spent being abused, called boy or freak, not knowing that 2 people existed who had deep ties to his parents , who loved and missed him but couldnt come to him. when Harry was young he had dreamed and dreamed of an unknown relative coming to take him away, he dreamed of flying motorcycles :'(

anyone else get sad after listening to this because it brings back memories?
Prisoner of Azkaban really stands out from the rest of the HP films and the score is one of the main reasons.
The Prisoner of Askaban is one of my favourite films the way it was shot , but mainly because of this song fits way too well and theres nothing wrong with it. Strange because my favourite book was the 6th one but they are all so good

My favorite book is goblet of fire but my favorite movie is either chamber of secrets or order of the Phoenix
This song just brings tears to my eye. This track just lets the veiwer know that the series is taking a dark turn.
I know Harry Potter for a year. I know it isn't very long time, but I am only 14, and when I feel bad, hopeless and lonely, I read Harry Potter, I can't forget this world. Hogwarts is my home, Hogwarts is all real potterheads' home. I'm crying, but it isn't sadness, it's only, only happiness. I can create very strong patronus, because I'm potterhead and I proud.

The trio's faces are a perfect representation of them throughout the series. Ron, scared and ready to back out, yet willing to come back for his friends. Hermione, curious and calculating. And Harry, also scared, but trying to find a way to protect the one's he loves, ready to fight or save them by running. And while writing this I realized the descriptions also fit which houses they should have been in. Ron, Hufflepuff. Hermione, Ravenclaw. Harry, Slytherin or Gryffindor.
Interesting. When I first saw this my reaction was the same as yours - that the three faces represented a central thread of their characters throughout the series. My interpretation was slightly different than yours, but along similar lines.
They all make Gryffindor together
I agree on the surface but it's deeper than that. Hermione for one would never be in Ravenclaw because she's close minded on things that's not documented She can't be in Slytherin because her heritage alone. Ron and Harry could of been Hufflepuff as much as they were griffondor. The point is even Dumbledore stated that maybe they sort people into houses to early. But even if they did Harry, Ron, and Hermione would either be Hufflepuff or griffondor Because their main traits or bravery and loyalty.
There's a popular fan theory that the three of them were made to represent the houses aside from Gryffindor. Harry would be a Slytherin, Hermione would be a Ravenclaw, Ron would be a Hufflepuff and when you combine them them you make Gryffindor.
All 3 characters actually truly belong to Gryffindor. Hermione has traits that Rowena Rawenclaw herself valued, the wisdom and intelect. However Sorting Hat still sorted her into Gryffindor, because it saw bravery and passion to care for others and make sure that everybody she cares for is safe. Something that Godric Gryffindor valued on top of everything else. Ronald Weasley was kind of stubborn and comical at the beginning of the series, but overtime it came into light why he was sorted to Gryffindor. First sign of his bravery and that he really cares for his friends so much that he's willing to sacrifice himself for a right thing to do was right in first book - I'm talking about his chess play on the way to stop Quirrel (which by that time they still thought was actually Snape). Also, it's kind of obvious, the entire family of Weasleys are Gryffindors. And Harry Potter - do I really need to explain this one? The Sorting Hat really considered putting him to Slytherin, and that choice wasn't actually bad at all. Harry really was thrilled to show what he is capable of, and he proved just like that in 5th book/movie (and in 3rd book/movie when he first casted Patronus). It's just that it never was Harry's true ambition and he actually never wanted to be famous. He wasn't attention seeker, he just wanted to live a normal life. He wasn't even scared of Voldemort and treated him like an equal. That showed how much brave he really is. Sorting Hat did the right choice when it sorted him to Gryffindor.
I cry, or i feel my heart crack every time i hear this. I love this song so much, it carried so much meaning its wonderful.

I have a group of close friends called the Black Feather but I sometimes call us the Marauders. We all live very far from each other and only get to see each other for one week every year. One of us may drop from the group. Another may not be able to come back. I feel like we're breaking like the Marauders and I don't want our crew to break. I'm the first mate- the glue. It's my fault if we fall apart. Maybe I chose the wrong people? I think one may not belong. I know we're not a real crew, but Captain and I do treat the crew seriously. The responsibility is real. I miss the Black Feather again (as usual)! Love you guys!

There is some magical bonding with these characters. Even this simple photo of these three makes me emotional. Something magical. Feels like family for some weird reason!

This is one of my favorite pieces of music in my favorite Potter movie.
This speaks to my very soul.
It started with the melody coming to me in my mind , had to search for quite a while before i found it and been listening to it for hours now, very profound depth to it.
Lupin is my comfort character, you might think it's weird to have a werewolf as your comfort character but you know whatever. So this is just so amazing to me.
I got into the Harry Potter movies in a really BIG way recently, so hearing this is a delight. And now I'm thinking of changing my CZcams name to Narglespokespersonsaid: Nobody has ever seen a nargle, have they, but Luna's sure they're there and that's good enough for me.

This is simply said beautiful and relaxing. I like the books better, but this, wow man I'm speechless. I realy love the Harry Potter soundtrack, it just makes the movie 10 times better. Cuz I honestly don't like the film that much, because they cut out very important plot holes and scenes that make the books what they are today.
I definitely understand you but for me I can say the movies are a big factor for the emotions that i connect with the whole universe of HP. so for me its less about plot holes and people saying "that makes no sense" but rather getting closer to the story than it would v been possible just by the books

I also agree in general, but I have to say that some of the lines which were truncated for the sake of brevity in the movies are snappier and therefore stronger than the originals.

They had to carry on the saga with Williams, he was a master and the music from the newest movies pales in comparison, and that's another reason why this is not a cohesive series, altough I love it, but imagine how amazing would have been to listen the Williams Voldemort theme at the battle of Hogwarts in deathly hallows part 2.
