I always liked the book version more than the movie version. In the movie, Ginny just kiss him and walk away in the Room of Requirement. In the book, they both kissed each other at the same time in the Gryffindor Common Room and after that, they went for a walk outside Hogwarts.
This makes me equally happy and sad but I can neither smile nor cry.

This movie definitely has the best soundtrack out of all 8, I feel so immersed in every scene and can really feel what every character is feeling. This movie is just so beautiful I love it :')
Wholeheartedly agreed my friend - I am so joyous that people feel the same way. Everything about this soundtrack is transcendental, ambient, and moving; The Half Prince is such a beautiful and immersive film and a lot of that is owed to the immense artistic talent working on it, unique to that film alone - from the brilliant cinematographer, Bruno
Delbonnel, to the stellar composer, Nicholas Hooper. Nicholas Hooper really gave it his all with the soundtracks of Year 5 and Year 6, showcasing himself as an equal to John Williams and Patrick Doyle, with his excellent ability to be able to mature the music of these films alongside the maturity of their stories, whilst maintaining the traditional Harry Potter flair and his own magical twist in tandem with that maturity. Desplat was excellent, as were Doyle and of course, Williams, but I would assert that of all the composers, Hooper ultimately stood on top as the best of them all the helm the sound of Harry Potter. He captured the progression of the overarching story perfectly, and kept the magic and wonder of the Wizarding World exciting, enlightening and encapsulating. He exhibited this talent with only two films, which is incredibly impressive, and that's all he needed. The perfect choice for the adolescent exploration exploitation of Year 5 and Year 6. Year 6 is really quite special. I think it stands as the absolute best film in the series with by far, without doubt, the best soundtrack in the series. Hooper is a genius and deserves all the praise he gets, and then some.

My melancholy music. It makes me sad and mourn for the loss of a love I never had, like just learning to cope and let go of a heartbreak from a crush who you think never wouldn’t ever progress. It’s a music of love and loneliness and revelation for me.
Their classmates gazes were cutting into their backs, poignant stares and a sea of faces plagued the surroundings, but they didn’t care. He saw her... running towards him... fiery hair chasing behind her, mimicking her heart as she chased for its true desire. Harry. In one swift motion Ginny’s arms were wrapped around Harry and they were embracing eachother, Ginnys confidence infected Harry so neither of them even thought of the crowd watching. For them time stopped, moving only to the others heartbeat, as if they were the others entire world. And finally for a brief moment after years of trial and terror, they were content, peaceful, happy even.

@@rocks1012 no she would have been the PERFECT Ginny. She was bold, fearless, and fit Ginny's personality but the damn Screenwriters gave no justice to her and only cared about Hermione. So the screenwriters gave no fuck about Ginny's character. They gave her the worst traits ever, Awkward, shy,'' shoelace' and made her dialogues cringy and gave her less screen time than the books. Its the screenwriter's fault, not Bonnie's fault. Don't blame her. She could not decide what to do.

Note how the motif of this track (G, F#, E, B) is the same as the motif of "Harry and Hermione"; the scene where they talk about love (there the rhythm is slightly different). They're both scenes about love and about the relationship between Ginny and Harry.

For me, this soundtrack always associated with the scene in the beginning of seventh book, when their kiss is described as very sad and passionate at the same time. Never understood why they put it for their first kiss.

While everyone of course is allowed their opinion and no opinion can be wrong, i thought how they handled it in the moment was beyond brilliant, because it showed the confidence level of Ginny, she kissed him and told Harry it was okay if this is all there was.
Harry had so many important memories of his, that everyone else all knew, in most cases everyone around him knew more about Harry then Harry did, here was something only for Harry and it was giving to him by Ginny Wesley, the sister of his best friend and confident of his other best friend Hermione.
This was Harry's moment and his alone to tell him he was forgiven and loved.........could just be me.
Ginny was ruined in the movies. Bonnie is stunning though but they ruined her character. This piece is INSANE. This is one of the reasons why I love HBP because of the music and cinematography. Aside from the book, this movie is art.

@@lwp2001 Exactly at every beginning of the song when it goes back to looping you hear a wheezy breathing through the nose, it is very subtle, sounds like something is sweeping, but it makes my teeth clench almost like nails on a blackboard. If you turn it up to the fullest you may hear it. I hear anything that ought not to be in the background...it's a curse to have super hearing lol...so many times I've overheard friends/colleagues talk behind my back lol and they don't think I hear, in that sense i think it's an advantage, but also a lonewolf life, but i'm happy with the music and good vibes in my ears to block it out :)

I like both versions. Harry had the benefit of internal feelings of love towards Ginny on the longer timescale in the books. The movies by nature, had to abridge the story, so fitting Ginny in as the one to fulfill her goal of taking what she wanted for years as a headstrong bad ass that her character is worked just as well in the context. Beautiful in both portrayals.

the begging is the best part
Even though Bonnie’s performance as Ginny was emotionless and boring, this song is neither one of those things. God this is one of the prettiest pieces of music I’ve ever heard. Nostalgic, and makes me get choked up everytime I hear it.
No I disagree, Bonnie was really good in the movies, it's just that the screenwriters didn't let her any chance to be that "badass-redhead-warrior" she is in the books.

If it is anyone's fault it is Steve kloves for not including Scenes like page 90 of the half blood prince and page 500 because they showed us why Harry and Ginny were made for each other.
Ginny Weasley is my favourite character ever. I don't go a second without thinking about Harry Potter. I am literally obsessed with it so when I say Ginny is my favourite I mean it and I have become quite protective about comments like these and as it is Ginnys BIRTHDAY not leaving a reply feels like traitor and disloyalty (ooh disloyalty) even though she doesn't need protecting.
Bonnies proformnce in all of the movies was AMAZING and in the chamber of secrets that profomance was the main reason I came to being obsessed. I was really impressed at how amazing her proformance was as an 11/12 year old even though dan Rupert Emma tom Matt and many more people were doing the same thing I felt even though she was a year younger her proformnce was just as good as Harry's was in the chambers of secrets but when she was older she became better. You could tell that once she knew what was happening to Ginny she wanted to act on it and act it.
She had always got the word WARRIOR in her head apparently and that was the correct word to have in her hand as it was the word she 'carried out' every day she was on set, every time you saw her.
She did not act an emotionless person and she is not an emotionless person either.
