I cam remember when it was a working dock ,one line which I can remember using it was Moss Hutchison line which sailed to Mediterranean ports, a number of timber importers used the port ,I can always remember seeing ships sailing in the channel in between Preston and Latham which looked odd as they were just sailing through the countryside,many thanks for the video
Great interesting story - they always say a city that has a dock/seafront has more character then an inland city devoid of a waterfront/wide body of river.
Would be nice if they have a restaurant.
Interesting video on the docks. Owners and staff at the cafe are brilliant. The area is great for lunch time walk as work near by.
Container s killed the Port off as the dock could not take even the small container feeder services of the size which use Liverpool
