Pastor Vs. Priest: What’s the Difference? When it comes to religion, it’s all about the semantics. One of the most common questions amongst Christians is: What’s the difference between a pastor and a priest? The pastor vs. priest debacle isn’t anything new, and though the terms are often used interchangeably amongst the general population, they’re actually referring to two slightly different groups of individuals. Old Testament historical event: The giving of the law at Mt. Sinai with loud noises and thundering and fire, on top of the mountain. The loud noise of a mighty wind attracts the congregation. Tongues of fire are seen above each of the disciples. The voice of Yahweh is heard giving utterance through the disciples in multiple languages simultaneously. 5. Trumpets - Yom Teruah / Day of Shouting: the 1st day of the 7th (lunar) month, or otherwise known by the misnomer “Rosh HaShanna.” NOTE: This is the single most important holiday for Christians today because the New Testament historical event fulfillment is imminent. It should be kept as a 24 hour sunset-to-sunset watch (Luke 12:37), shouting on the name of Yahweh (Proverbs 18:10). Do people really read very well the Bible and search to grasp and understand? John 17 is very clear. Matthew 11:27 John 8:55 (Jesus said he kept his Father's word) Ephesians 1:3 Paul never taught Oneness, he knew Jesus is a person and God the Creator his Father, our Father too, the Creator whom no one can see and live. All the disciples and apostles knew God was the FATHER of our King and Messiah his Beloved Son. So, how come Roman Catholics and Christians priests and pastors continue perpetuating this unbiblical doctrine of Trinity and Oneness creating just confusion 🤯 The King of the Jews wasn't confused of his identity, neither came to change his Father's Word and do his own will. Wake up! Search the Scripture from it roots, the pastors don't know everything, they could be like the Pope thinking no one cannot tell them anything because they know all. It doesn't make sense to picture and think of Jesus out of His culture and background. He never spoke English or Greek, but Hebrew and Aramaic. He is a JEW, like it or no and through him and his disciples we have access to the Scripture. John, the people would have a much better understanding of our Earth if you taught Biblical Cosmology. Genesis 1 tells us we live under a firmament solid enough to hold back water. He tells us He put the sun, moon and stars within the firmament. He tells us that the moon has its own light, not that the sun shines on it. Either God or man is lying. Job 38:14 says the Earth takes form like clay under a seal. Over and over the Bible says the Earth does not move. 1 Chronicles 16:30, Psalm 33:8-9, Psalm 93:1, Psalm 96:10, Psalm 104:5, Isaiah 14:7, Zechariah 1:12 (just a small sampling) Man tells us we come from primordial goo, that the Earth is billions of years old and that we live on a spinning ball that water clings to. We are supposedly hurdling through "space" at a curious 66,600 mph while spinning at 1000 mph yet Polaris stays fixed year after year, age after age. They say the moon spins yet so slowly that we only ever see one face of it. What? All of our "leaders" are lying to us.
Christmas has nothing to do with Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Jesus was not born on December 25th nor did he tell anyone to celebrate that specific day. December 25th is the birthdate of 2 roman sun gods, and the Christmas tree and holiday wreath came from the pagan festival Yuletide! Who is Santa Claus? Why do we lie to our children that an old man can see all, hear all, and has the right to hear judgement on who is wrong or right? Isn't that Jesus' job? Why do we tell our children to be good for Santa Claus and not for the Lord Jesus who is God, our everlasting king? If you call yourself a follower of Jesus it is time to wake up. This holiday has NEVER had anything to do with Christ. It is of pagan origins for other gods and had been taken by the Roman Catholics who slapped Jesus' name on it in order to appease the pagans and convince them to turn to monotheism. Ask yourself, why do you go and buy a tree that was cut out of the forest. Why do you put silver and gold ornaments and lights on it? Why do you put presents under it? Why do you make an offering of cookies for Santa knowing he does NOT exist? These are altars, and again, have NOTHING to do with Jesus Christ. But let's see what God has to say about the Christmas tree. Pastor Vs. Priest: What’s the Difference?
When it comes to religion, it’s all about the semantics. One of the most common questions amongst Christians is: What’s the difference between a pastor and a priest? The pastor vs. priest debacle isn’t anything new, and though the terms are often used interchangeably amongst the general population, they’re actually referring to two slightly different groups of individuals. To put it simply, a priest is a person who likely preaches in the Catholic faith. A pastor is someone who preaches in any other Christian faith. Pastors are sometimes referred to as priests and priests are sometimes referred to as pastors, but at the heart of the debate, the difference is which church their altar sits in.
Pastor
A pastor is simply an ordained leader of a Christian church. They can be male or female, and have the authority to preside over services and also give advice or counsel to the people in the congregation. The word pastor is actually Latin and means shepherd. The related Latin verb is pascere, which means, “to lead to pasture”. In modern Christian churches, the pastor or the head of the church is the shepherd that leads the flock (the congregation) to pasture (salvation).
Pastors were given the title based on the Biblical metaphor of shepherding. In Christ’s charge to Peter by Raphael, Christ appointed Peter as a pastor and instructed him to feed his sheep.
Pastors enjoy a full home life and may marry if they choose to. Married pastors are often considered more trustworthy and knowledgeable than unmarried pastors. They may have biological children and are typically completely integrated into the community.
Pastors are formally educated prior to becoming ordained. This education takes roughly four years and may or may not take place at a formal seminary. Many pastors are also educated in other non-religious subjects and they may enjoy a career outside of the church.
Priest
A priest is a religious leader that is ordained in a particular faith, primarily Catholicism. All priests are men. The priest is believed to be a mediatory agent between humans and God. They have the authority to administer religious rites and are called to their position by a higher power rather than an internal desire. Priests perform church services, special ceremonies and acts of counsel amongst other duties.
In the Catholic faith, being a priest is a full-time position. The individual that sacrifices their life in accordance to the calling of God foregoes the ability to pursue another career. They are completely dedicated to their churches and cannot marry with the exception of married clergy from the Anglican Communion that later converted. This is because priests are expected to “marry” the church. As a result of not being able to marry in the traditional sense, priests will not have children unless they seek ordination after the passing of a spouse.
Becoming a priest takes many years and devotion. The typical priest spends around 10 years in the seminary maturing and learning about the faith. Once they graduate from the seminary, they are placed in a church and will dedicate their lives completely to their faith. At the end of the day, a priest will retire to the rectory. Because of the intense preparation necessary to become a priest, the withdrawal rate is extremely low.
Dress and Liturgical Vestments
Because priests and pastors are names given to religious leaders of different denominations, it’s not unreasonable for their dress and liturgical vestments to differ. In general, priests have a much stricter dress code than pastors. While pastors in certain Christian religions may choose to adhere to traditional dress codes, some modern pastors have adopted a more casual style in an effort to better connect with their congregations. In the Catholic faith, the dress of the priest is non-negotiable.
Because pastors can be male or female, the dress between the sexes is also slightly different. Some items have been adapted for use by women, though female pastors in general opt for a much more casual look with less headwear, fewer accessories and lighter fabrics. A male and female pastor of the same denomination may dress very different from one another.
Shortages of Priests
In the United States, there is a shortage of priests available. There are many factors that have caused this, but smaller Catholic families, lengthy educational periods and an increasingly stringent discernment process are thought to be the driving forces behind the shortage. Because there are simply not enough priests to go around, it is not uncommon for the priest of a church to differ in race or nationality from the majority of their congregation. Many are placed in churches far from their homes and they readily accept this as their faith demands.
While priests and pastors vary in some ways, they are more alike than they are different. Both are extremely dedicated to spreading the Word and to shepherding their congregations towards salvation. They both act as a moral guide and a confidant for those that seek their counsel. Both priests and pastors are closer to God than most and both undergo years of education before taking their positions. They are both community leaders, working diligently to keep families and neighborhoods strong.

Christmas is not on the list of holidays in Leviticus 23 they each have historical event fulfillment in both Old Testament and New Testament times. For example:
1. Passover: 14th day of the 1st (lunar) month (“at even”).
Old Testament historical event:
The blood of a lamb applied to the door posts of the houses of Israel.
New Testament event: The sacrifice of Messiah.
2. Unleavened bread: 15th day of the 1st (lunar) month.
Old Testament historical event: Exit from the slavery of Egypt in haste with no time to wait for the bread dough to rise.
New Testament historical event:
The unleavened bread of Passover is the body of Messiah “broken for you.” (1 Corinthians 11:24).
3. First Fruits: “on the morrow after the sabbath” (Lev. 23:7).
Old Testament historical event: “This month shall be for you the beginning of months” (Exodus 12:2). The offering of the firstfruits of the first spring (barley) harvest.
New Testament historical event: Messiah was the firstfruit of them who are born again from the dead. (1 Corinthians 15:20, 23).

Old Testament historical event: The giving of the law at Mt. Sinai with loud noises and thundering and fire, on top of the mountain. The audible voice of Yahweh is heard by the congregation of Israel gathered around the mountain.
New Testament historical event: (Acts 2:1-12). The loud noise of a mighty wind attracts the congregation. Tongues of fire are seen above each of the disciples. The voice of Yahweh is heard giving utterance through the disciples in multiple languages simultaneously.
5. Trumpets - Yom Teruah / Day of Shouting: the 1st day of the 7th (lunar) month, or otherwise known by the misnomer “Rosh HaShanna.”
NOTE: This is the single most important holiday for Christians today because the New Testament historical event fulfillment is imminent. It should be kept as a 24 hour sunset-to-sunset watch (Luke 12:37), shouting on the name of Yahweh (Proverbs 18:10). John, the people would have a much better understanding of our Earth if you taught Biblical Cosmology. Genesis 1 tells us we live under a firmament solid enough to hold back water. He tells us He put the sun, moon and stars within the firmament. He tells us that the moon has its own light, not that the sun shines on it. Either God or man is lying.
