    2013 Silver Cayenne VR6 140K miles, garaged and very little city driving. I've had none of the problems you mentioned including no squeaks. It's been a solid, dependable car. I also 100% recommend the Cayenne. One thing to note on my Cayenne, just like my wife my Cayenne does not show it's age. It still look brand new inside and out. I have changed all of the fluids before the
    dates recommended by Porsche, oil, transmission, transfer case and so on, I think this has really helped the Cayenne's longevity. Oh, and having the silver finish, it doesn't seem to show the dirt as much. Gosh, I sound like a fan boy !
    I live in eastern Oregon, USA.

    It's 8 years old. Yeah it's a Porsche Cayenne but they are not invincible! If you love the car you look past imperfections, and give credence to its age.

    I own a black 14 GTS and it’s hard to keep clean. The PCM takes a long time to connect to the BT. The air vents are very fragile and very expensive to replace. Just make sure to stay up on the scheduled maintenance and you’ll be fine. I love my Cayenne

    Your mirror was probably pushed out of position whilst being washed, either by you or a previous owner. If you push it in manually, it will click. Pushing it in a few clicks should centre it back to how it came from the factory. Then you can adjust it electrically to your desired position. Mirror issue solved!

    Ok, for the back seat rattle; I found that in the back side of those seats there are hooks with plastic inserts; those plastics were cracked maybe from heat or something and they were driving me crazy with their rattle; I’ve removed them completely and didnt bother to replace them as they are in hidden place anyway; also there are the two small covers that get attached to the backseats; when they are undone they rattle a bit when their hooks vibrate so now I keep them hooked to the back seats; those 2 actions eliminated maybe 90% from any rattle from the back.

    • @nowornever81
      @nowornever81 Před 3 lety +1

      For the dashboard rattle; try pushing the glove box and see if this stop it; this is a common cause; also on the fuse cover on the right side of the dash there are in some cars a loose cable there that keep knocking on the plastic cover

    • @nowornever81
      @nowornever81 Před 3 lety +1

      Btw; the plastic inserts were in the hooks in the middle of the backside; not the one on the edge for the small covers

    I had a similar problem with an outside mirror. I started pushing on the mirror itself and I got it to where I wanted it. Had to be something in the motor that operates the mirror. Good things to know on your Cayenne. I'm going to have to replace a leased car soon and have been looking at used Cayenne and Macan. I love the look of them. Thanks Satch.

      Porsche in general keep the same line, so they don't "get old" as fast as other cars. And that's also a reason for the relative small price depreciation.

  • @liquidflorian
    @liquidflorian Před 3 lety +1

    I get a CEL and misfire code w/ stop start disabling every now and then. I had to replace my gas cap and that helped it, it used to do it every time I filled it up. I think a previous owner didn't use good fuel, and it might need some kind of evaporator service.
    I also think someone topped off the power steering with ATF, I'm going to try and flush that this weekend maybe find some fancy fluid that preserves the pump internals.

    I have 2012 Cayenne Turbo, about 59k miles, bought it salvage from the US and rebuilt. I don't have any rattles (dash has the sports chrono so this might be why the dash doesn't rattle), everything is quite solid. Zero body roll on standard suspension setting, handles very well for an SUV and excellently well in sports mode, (my 07 C2S Cabrio had terrible body roll, sold the car because of that). Yup Auto start stop is dodgy, I keep it off all the time. Yup PCM as stock is just too basic for a 2012 car, if I was keeping the car I'd definitely update.

    I'm still surprised how capable it is. I'm Simply in love with it!!

  • @yammy1000
    @yammy1000 Před 3 lety +1

    The brake switch issue could be tied in with the stop/start as the the stop/start usually comes in when you have a firm press on the brake pedal when stopped. You should feel that when you ease off on the brake pedal the engine should restart in anticipation of moving off, so it would make sense that the problem stems from there...
    Also, I know the feeling R.E. the black. Had a black 996 & it was the one and only black car I've owned. Never again! Winter & gritted roads must be your worst nightmare!

    Haven't had any start/stop issues on my MY2011 Cayenne S Hybrid except once. The car was struggling to start and eventually didn't do so at all before cooling down (so that the start/stop was disabled for a while). Immediately after the engine heated up, the car would fail to start and I had Check Engine warning lid up on the dash.
    The problem turned out to be a faulty fuel pump assembly. For me it just failed on a one day fully, and didn't show any symptoms before that sad day.
