Refinery, You guys are dead ass wrong for this. This turned out very patchy and uneven. Her hair wasn’t in the best state either and she should have waited until her hair was more healthier to take on the task. She should have “rested” her hair after she took out the braids, bleached her hair a couple of days after the haircut (because I know that freshly cut scalp is on fire with all those chemicals) and if her hair didn’t fall off, then tone it. Clearly the stylist didn’t know what she was doing and very inexperienced dealing with different hair textures. I hope she wasn’t paying for it because I would demand a refund, pronto. 👎🏾 ( if you payed for it Refinery, then get back your money!)

@@melinadistrict9428 you have different types of lightness or darkness in toners, for instance they could have given her medium ash blonde toner.
@@melinadistrict9428 they can def cool down that warmth with toner. at least match the edges, cos her front is pale yellow and the rest is literally orange.
Y'all should have went to a different salon because this bleach job didn't turn out right and maybe should had done this in 2 days. But she's beautiful regardless just don't go back there.
ACM she just had braids so her scalp is like raw. So it take take as much processing thats why it looks like it did! She shouldve waited a week before bleaching!!

@@mochabby93 there's other things the stylist could've done like use different formulas or use a cap for processing. She only had braids in her partial area, they could've catered to that and didn't. Bleach should process for 30+ mins especially since her natural is so dark and she had virgin hair so it should've lifted fine. It was probably a factor but ultimately from her density over time, so regardless of the bleach job her scalp would've been sensitive anyways. There's ways to add conditioners to bleach by adding oils or olaplex, it's all available
Should have gotten a consultation done first.
I really enjoyed this video and the hair cut however as a cosmetologist I have to say the chemical processing stage was very uncomfortable to watch. This girl JUST took down braids and it’s highly recommended that you wait atleast two days before doing a chemical process due to scalp sensitivity. You could tell her scalp was irritated and she was uncomfortable. Had they did the chemical processing on another day I’m sure the bleaching process would have achieved much better results and a comfortable overall process for the client.

@@09kenedy as In a person who works with her hair texture not someone who doesn't know that because her hair is so dark it needs multiple bleaching treatments with a toner so it didnt turn out like an orange /copper look.

EDIT: this is how you can tell the difference between a stylist who worked with a multitude of hair textures and those who only only work with straighter textures. My hair was buzzed and bleached early 2018 and it was shorter than hers. My stylist actually went in with a fine tooth comb to get to the root, and I got a really nice even color. Kinky hair is thick so just putting it on all willy nilly is doing her a disservice.
Also bleaching hair RIGHT after taking your braids out? AND CUTTING IT??

It's really unfortunate that they let her do this, because I honestly think that it could've looked really nice on healthy hair with some proper toning!

It wasnt soley stinging because of her braids removal. He took clippers to her scalp and did a line up or shape up and put a design in it. Idk why they didnt bleach her hair before they did that. She specifically said zoe kravitz hair. It didnt come out like that. He also cut it shorter than the style she said. The color was bad. Lookz like something she could've done at home. No toner? They did her wrong.

She should’ve gone to a black stylist. Bleaching is like perming and I knew her head was gonna burn from the beginning. The bleach also wasn’t applied properly I saw the stylist trying to get into the root and it wasn’t working. It also didn’t look like they conditioned her hair at all. The cut was nice but i just want my sis to flourish! I find that I have to do so much more to my hair now it’s short and colored to keep it healthy

madabouthollyoaks411 the biggest thing is to not over process it. Go to someone who know what they’re doing. And what you can do at home is moisture. Deep condition, hot oil treatments, hair masks, good sealing oils to lock in moisture not just moisturizing ones. I also find washing my hair more often to be effective because I’m doing these treatments more often. And I also co wash. Unless I have heavy product build so that helps

For the same reason you wouldnt relax ur hair after taking down braids you wouldnt bleach either...they scratch the skin with the clippers doing the edge up and part and fading. Thats like putting alcohol on a cut duh its gonna burn. Gorgeous girl wrong ppl doing the dye.

Im confused how some hair stylists look like they don't know what they doing. I literally saw all the problems and I am not a hair stylist. Smh her hair looks uneven and is not even toned. I don't think she wanted orange hair!

Liz Darden if you are going to be cutting off all the hair anyways, there is no reason to waste product on hair that you won’t be keeping.
When making a drastic change you always cut away length first. Dye. Then style.
When just getting a trim, stylist will dye first then cut.

Exactly! Those clippers totally irritated her scalp before adding the bleach. The should have applied the bleach after cutting with the shears. Then TONED it. Then shaved with the clippers.
Should had colored another day. My scalp would not take that abuse

I used to have long hair down my back and I hated it. Just hated it. My mom would tell me that I couldn't cut it till I was 18 so you best believe that the very second I turned 18, I shaved my head. I never regretted it and never looked back. I'm so happy I did it.

Nice. I just did this not too long ago myself. I went to a barber though because I wanted a rounded hairline. And I realized real quick that I needed to lighten before cutting because that thing burned!!

Processing isn't easy on natural virgin hair especially if it's black. It takes a long time. When depositing violet on mustard patchy hair it will turn dark purple. Lighter with no decoloration marks will give you a Violet look. It depends how the hair was process.

I know I flinched when I saw that part because I knew that bleach was lighting your scalp up! But there is a product the better professionals know about called Antidot Pro, takes all the burn out of bleach and color application. In the old days we'd base our whole scalp and sit under cold hair dryer for 10 minutes to close our pores,. But with your hair so short, Antidot is the way to go.
A few things went wrong here first when you take down braids and then immediately wash the hair that opens up the pores on your scalp so at that point any further combing tugging or manipulation to the scalp (bleaching in this case) definitely will cause pain and irritation to the scalp. If you wouldn’t scratch/manipulate your scalp before a relaxer why do it after braids with bleach.
