I wrote (The) God On the Mountain (Is Still God In the Valley) in January of 1985. I had attended a youth retreat at Glorieta Baptist Conference Center the previous summer and it was a "mountain top" experience. My commitment had to be walked out when I returned home. My parents fought day and night during the month of January of 1985. It interfered with my ability to study and sleep. But I had to trust that even then God would see me through the darkness. And the fighting did stop in early February.

We heard The McCameys sing this song in Marion, Va. about 40 yrs. ago. When she sang, He’s still GOD”: & swung her arms around. The whole congregation stood up & we had church!!! A night we will never forget!!! The spirit of the Lord filled the people with a thirst for God’s presence like we had ever felt before. Praise God!!! 🥳💕♥️
