- Today I will be giving my ukuleles an upgrade that is SUPER affordable. While browsing instagram the other day I came across a page that had inlay stickers for guitars and ukuleles. When I scrolled through the page, I got inspired to give my ukuleles a facelift. I had seen people adding stickers to their Nova ukuleles and I wanted to do this with mine too.
I used three different inlay stickers in this video. I found the links for two of these on Amazon. The first sticker I installed was the blue hummingbird. This one costs approximately $8. Here's the link for that one: amzn.to/2uipq5e

I like the fretboard inlay on the tenor. I've been looking at these for a while. But I was hesitant because I thought it might come out uneven and look bad. Seeing how easy you made it look to install gets me wanting to try. Thanks for sharing. 🥰

I really only like the one on the tenor fret board. I might have felt differently if the coloring of the stickers would have worked better with the color of the dark blue uke and the pink one. As a long-time visual artist though, I have to say they just didn't work entirely well with the body colors of those ukes. The blue one would have been ok had the beak not disappeared given it's black and so close to that darker blue. I think the pink uke, though cute, in and of itself will never look high-end. The job on the fret board really does look realistic and very high-end. Awesome video in any case!
I like the fretboard inlay the best and then the effect on the pink uke.
The X1 is my favorite no doubt! It looks like it has always looked like this. Really didn’t expect the sticker to look this stunning! 👏

I like all of them but I think the fretboard sticker looks the most original. It is good to know we can make our ukuleles look better.
I liked all three. Thats a really cool way to dress up a uke. Tops would be the one on the fret board , then the one on the pink then the blue uke. Good idea for a video.

I've been tempted by the hummingbird for a while. I like the way they are applied and have no clear backing left behind. Have to wait until I purge and replace some ukes before I decorate.

AH-hahha! Love it! I vinylcut some really obnoxious holo glitter fret markers on my very affordable uke and I am here for all of this! So far they have proven themselves durable, even when confronted with fingerboard conditioner. Hey Ms. B! You should condition your fingerboard to see if you pretty fret inlays stay put!

Thank you for posting this video. I've seen the inlays before in photos but not on a video. So this is perfect, they're beautiful compared to my Cricut decals on my ukuleles. LOVE LOVE the fretboard stickers!!!! A must buy.

I find on X1 looks it the most "natural" alike, as it was made like it inicially! but looks in general just super fun on all of them, especially for such a sticker freak like meeeeeeeee hahhahhah

They're so pretty! I like that each one has a color that matches the background (like the bird!). I really like the one on the fretboard, makes it look so fancy :) did you have to remove the string or just loosen them? And does it feel any rougher than before when you play it?

To put the sticker on, I left the strings on but if you skip to 2:10 you can see I loosened the strings and moved them to the side. I should have done that from the start.

We must have ordered ours at the same time. Mine came about a week ago. I've put the Mother-of Pearl fretboard markers on one uke. It's such fun. Like 'pimp my uke'!
I love the fret board one on the Tenor Ukulele but if I was going for ease of adding them then the Pink Uke.
I found these at a ukulele festival I went to and bought a pretty one for my first ukulele, a KALA KA-SLNG. It is a lilly, I think.

Omg those are so pretty. I’m feeling dumb because I literally spent a lot on a Luna ukulele solely for the pretty design and the fret markers are moons. going to do this next time I buy a ukulele

The 3rd one ;) although I wonder how would they all affect the sound? I was also thinking of refinishing (painting with acrylic paint) a couple of ukes.
X1 tenor definitely.
I liked the sticker on the pink one, but I'm not a fan of the Pepto-Bismol color of the uke itself. The fretboard looks nice now, but I'm dubious about its longevity. Especially if it were to have a low-G wrapped string.
Does it feel any different to play on the uke with fretboard stickers? Have you had experience taking the stickers off .? I very much liked this video and all your other vids. You are very good at what you do.
I didn’t feel a big difference, but I’m sure that time will tell. I also thing that if I try to “bend” the strings for a wah-wah effect, I’ll feel it.
I love the stickers. The fret stickers are my favorite. My ukuleles are satin and I really want a gloss finish. Any reason I shouldn't spray on a gloss coat? Maybe I'll apply stickers and then coat it.
