    I must confess I never made the Key Fob Wallet because of the reasons you stated. Looking at the pattern I just cut the measurements stated for the inner body piece/lining? I love the hack and it is a wonderful teaching lesson for my younger grandchildren as with your coin purse. Thank You! A afterthought. Clarification when looking at the patterns how do you tell if it is a PDF or SVG.

    • @SewGnar
      @SewGnar  Před 3 lety

      Yes, the inside piece is the same measurement as the Key Fob wallet. And in my shop titles for each product I specifically say if it’s a PDF, a PDF & SCGs, or just SVGs!

      I have a couple videos on my channel all about the branding iron!

  • @patriciaferrito9245
    @patriciaferrito9245 Před 3 lety

    So really basic question. I notice that you don't tie off your threads. You just back stitch a bit and cut them. I'm used to sewing with fabric where you lock the stitches by sewing in the same place about 8 times. I think that would put a hole in your cork. So you just go forward and back at the beginning and end and then trim the threads? Thanks for your help.

    • @SewGnar
      @SewGnar  Před 3 lety

      I do, yeah. I just backstitch over my stitches. I’ve tried the tying method but the thread I use is so thin so it’s a pain in the butt!

  • @LiviaWinchester
    @LiviaWinchester Před 6 měsíci

    • @SewGnar
      @SewGnar  Před 6 měsíci

      In the pattern I list dimensions.

    With the original it was a snap closure key fob. Do you think adding a snap closure to this hacked version would work?

    • @SewGnar
      @SewGnar  Před 2 lety

      You could certainly add the snap but the raw edge of the tab would be exposed, which is why I’ve never done it.

  • @diawalsh
    @diawalsh Před rokem

    I was wondering what gauge vinyl you use for the ID window? The one I used in the Tall wallet is too thin.
    Thanks, Dia

    My machine is similar to yours PQ1500SL. do you recommend using a teflon foot when sewing cork. (looks like that is what you're using). what thread and what needle?

    • @SewGnar
      @SewGnar  Před 3 lety

      I always use a Teflon foot, I never take it off. I’ve been using size 16 needles with Gutermaan Mara 120 thread.

      I used a heat brand to imprint my label. I have a whole video on my channel with that info!
