That's because it's definitely a backing track or they added them after recording. Way too perfect for a live performance, even for a good one.
i knew adam like 20 years ago. jammed with him and jody and the boys and they never made me feel less cuz i was a girl. but i was a bass player too, and so impressed with adam i could hardly play when he was around. i do a show on facebook and i did a dedication to adam...he did so much other stuff i never knew about! he was tight with the Farrelly brothers, which is odd cuz my kid is really good friends with them, but he did soundtracks and tv shows and i have no idea how he did all the stuff he did. i'm so glad he had the chance to do it though! RIP adam...you most certainly will be missed! Xxx.
i wish he was still around because i'm totally "stacy's mom". my kid's 20 and he can't stand my punk rock ways (20 years. he's not new. and i've been like this since i was 15. dork) but his friends LOVE me!! hahaha. he hates that! it's so awesome.

The harmonies here are way too clean for live recording. Definitely overdubbed. Probably not the only thing either. Still great nonetheless. I like how the lead singer's guitar keeps changing throughout the song. I guess they couldn't decide on a single take and just patched several together.

Love these guys from their first album onward. Bought everything they released. Anyone watching this video for Stacy's Mom owes it to themselves to seek out and listen to their entire catalog of music. They didn't release that many records and they are all full of great songs like this.

I missed on these guys in the 90's. Discovered them and Matthew Sweet recently. Great music! FOW sooooo underrated for musicianship, but also lyrics with cheeky humor.
