  • Ulaanbaatar (Ulan Bator) is Mongolia's capital and largest city. The city consists of a central district built in Soviet 1940s and 1950s-style architecture, surrounded by and mingled with residential concrete towerblocks and large ger districts. Here you can admire the panorama of the downtown, but also see how poor some neighborhoods are.
In this video you can find best tourist attractions of the city, including the Sükhbaatar Square with the Government Palace. The main religious places are the Gandan Monastery and the Choijin Lama Temple. The main museums are the Bogd Khan Palace Museum, the National Museum of Mongolia, and the Fine Arts Zanabazar Museum. Other interesting attractions are The Zaisan Memorial, the Mongolian National Library, and the National Amusement Park.
Music used in video: Sao Meo by Doug Maxwell/ Zac Zinger, from CZcams Audio Library
