This is actually pretty accurate considering from what I’ve heard, Sonic & The Secret Rings was actually supposed to be a Wii port of Sonic 06 but unfortunately they couldn’t finish it in time when all the other Sonic 06 ports came out so they reworked a few things from said port and turned it into Secret Rings.
Youre not far off. A Wii version was planned but halfway through development they realized the Wii was extremely underpowered and that it wouldnt work. So they split off half of sonic team to go work on secret rings instead. Leaving only half a team to work on either game. A huge factor in 06s downfall. That and the fact shadow the hedgehog literally only came out a year prior so they more than likely only had 1 year dev time on top of the team being cut in half and the leader of the team leaving mid development
Honestly, they should’ve made a Wii port of 06 like how Unleashed had a downgraded port on Wii, and released it like a year later, like they did with the PS3 version
@tarheelpro87 Well we ended up getting several more mainline titles after Sonic Unleashed with alternate handheld ports such as Sonic Colors, Generations, Lost World & Sonic Boom with varying degrees of quality.

Ok I got a few things to say here: 1. The graphics look too good, I know P-06 was probably the easiest way to get/record footage of but in order for this to look more authentic would’ve been to use the OG version with slightly worse graphics. 2. The button prompts are super pixelated and low res. Try to find higher quality pictures. 3. The button prompts don’t make sense and are inconsistent. The prompt for homing attacking uses the A button as if you’re using the Wii Remote and Nunchuck but the prompts for grinding use motion control graphics and the homing attack section right before the rainbow ring seem to imply that you’re using it on it’s side horizontally. And considering how mechanically diverse 06 as a whole is (P-06 or otherwise) that game would NOT work with that control scheme.

It was actually supposed to be but the developers received the Wii's dev kit and learned the Wii's hardware was too insufficient to have 06 in its game library, so Sega split Sonic Team in half and some of the staff regrouped to work on a new title for the Wii, while having the other work on 06. The new title for the Wii ended up becoming Sonic and the Secret Rings.
It wasn't released on the Wii because the PS3 and Xbox 360 ports were already rushed making it no point for a Wii port, even a PC port (Thankfully P-06 exists) was supposed to happen.
Hopefully it'll happen but it cancelled, I was waiting for this version but... No. And I wonder if "Stuck On You" by Paramore would be Silver the Hedgehog's theme song
