This rivarly changed the way authorities looked at asian gangs forever.
In this video were going to be taking a dive into the history behind these two gangs and also take a look at the series of events that led up to the infamous El Monte pool hall incident.
WahChing and Asian Boyz have got to be two of the biggest and most influential asian gangs to come out of California.

I love how gangs always form to "protect their own" but end up extorting and even becoming violent towards their own 😳
aint this how all gang is lmfao? Ever heard the saying "you can't even trust your homeboy"
It's jailhouse rules. You regulate your own people and stay within your circle. Step outside the rule and it's full race wars. It's 1+1 really
Gang banging is a bunch of BS for this reason alone. That being said, I do have a morbid fascination with learning about them, much like I enjoy learning about serial killers and watching car crashes
@@alsimmons1870 I also have a fascination with morbid things to a certain extent. I think we should seek help... But I'm ignorant I want help to seek me.😂
@@blunted219 I think morbid fascinations are a normal part of the human experience. They become a problem when the fascination turns into worship and admiration or, even worse, if you start emulating it.
Can u cover the foot clan? They were big in new york and beefed hard with the teenage mutant ninja turtles.
Foot soldiers
Faaaaaax
Nah, you gotta do one in their leader. It'd be much more interesting.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles got they asses beat by the DBz (Double Dragons!)

Facts Forgotten Streets channel is so interesting. I marathon everything on there.
I grew up in the Bay Area. This shootout happened right around when I started high school. No internet or CZcams back in those days, so the only place I would've seen the footage was on the news. It was basically all over the news. It's true though. It's been a long time since I've heard of street violence between Asian gangs. Hopefully that means things have changed for the better.
I remember it from America's Most Wanted!
I grew up in L.A in the 1990's and remember these beefs well. It got pretty bad around the mid 90's but one thing is for sure. If Covid would have happened back then, no Blacks would have came around to punch Asian grannies. Them boys didn't mess around back then, not that I condone violence but these kids are soft these days.
@@davidmoss2576 Them Asian niggas bacc then were a different breed fr💯😂
@David Moss I don't condone violence either but I'm pretty sure violence against Asian elderly or asian women wouldn't have been so rampant when covid came out. I also remember being an asian kid growing up in the 90s and people warning me not to dress a certain way, look at people a certain way, or going to places since the violence between the asian gangs were out of control
YT Forgotten Streets got the best Asian-American Mob/gangsters history to date!! Hope you guys and gals making these informative videos to keep down the background music vs the narratives ratios. After all you are NOT making music videos here. And I like to hear the important contents you are presenting. Much respects to all of you for the works you do on YT. Thanks.

I lived and worked in Hollywod and L.A downtown from 1971 to 1997 and I 'd seen them all i regards to different gangs. I no longer "carry" but never regret that I did before. You are doing a good job informing us the history of different gangs.
Before Kicker joined ABI, he was affiliated with OLB and OBz in Chinatown and South Central. Not sure what happened but he decided to hang out with some other cats and that was creation of ABI. Ah I remember the days I use to go international pool club in El Monte. Would shoot pool next to guys wearing v-boyz on their t shirts. Miss those late night grubs at Noodle World in Alhambra or San Gabriel? Would drive up the 605 from OC looking for a race in my 95 Turbo Integra 😂 I remember there use to be a barber shop somewhere around there that did nice zero fade haircuts. I think it was near Pit Crew Motorsports. I would drive up there from OC just to get my haircut lol

It was 2010, West Covina CA, an old Filipino lady was trying to protect her grandson because he was having some issue with one of the gang members. anyway the ganster called his home boyz over. To make the story short she said this one thing that disbanded the problem "gangs are cave men and they're pussies with small heart. They get upset over a small mosquito things.". So very true.
Depends. Not all gang members.
🥴
Nother banger! 💥🥷
My brother was in HS in the 90’s and he was a fob. He got targeted because someone within our family supposedly was speaking badly about WC members younger sister. The thing is- it wasn’t true and said family member didn’t know who the younger sister was, she was in middle school. My brother was kidnapped at gunpoint after school and he was forced to drive to a nearby park where these gang members stabbed him multiple times. Thankfully his friend followed after seeing they abducted him. He was in ICU for a long time with internal bleeding and almost died. My brother still has scars over his body but he doesn’t talk about it. He kept his mouth shut until one day we were watching news and he pointed that, one of the men was arrested and going to jail.
vulnerable ppl are often randomly targeted because nearby gangs go on MISSIONS as apart of initiations in order to join the gang. succeeding in these missions which often times means hurting or robbing a random person means they can avoid getting assaulted into the gang because they proved themselves elsewhere. so thats why your brother was randomly targeted i bet, the gang bangers needed an easy person to prove their street cred to join a gang without having to get injured themselves. so sorry for your lovely brother. be well.

I went to China for the first and hung out with a cousins close friend who was big in the Asian gangs California and Wah Ching. One of his buddies and I started talking about the old days and high school and he started it was crazy how many people he knew that were my home boys from US to China shit is pretty crazy with the connections and my main boy was huge but didn’t know how far his reach was till that night. The gang world is a very small world indeed you never know who knows who even on the other side of the planet.
Top notch brother! Thank you for all the history you share
A dope book that backs up the forgotten streets is this book call Chinese playground. It talks about that same topic along with the reason why wah ching was formed and stories about hop sing boys
For people wondering around the time the pool hall shooting happened ABI only had about 10 or 11 dudes in their crew when WC had more numbers and connections to other chinese gangs, in the pool hall their wasnt any other ABI members besides kicker and 1 other dude the rest were from BDZ "Black Dragonz" and a couple VBZ both were vietnamese gangs and so was ABI at the time because they wernt clicked up with ABZ yet untill they felt the heat from WC.

i grew up in South El Monte in the late 80s and early 90s. i actually lived a couple blocks down from where the pool hall shooting took place. what a lot of people may not realize is that El Monte has a well known gang that runs the city. its one of the oldest gangs in the san gabriel valley. they use to beef it heavily with the wah ching. El Monte was active back in the day. for such a small city it had like 6 or 7 gangs all active and running crazy. shootings every night. Wah Ching got ran out of El Monte for those that know and anyone wondering. you should do a story on that!

@@Kodeuk Not sure about SoCal these days but in the 1970s -1990s the Chinese gangs in SF and NYC use to kidnap their enemies and torture them before killing them and dumping their bodies into the ocean. That is what needs to happen to those targeting Asian folks.
In British Columbia, Mainland Chinese gangs and the Hell Angels are the major international players in organized crime.
BTW, it's not only Asian gangs that should deal with these anti-Asian attacks.
The Rooftop Koreans who shot the hell out of the rioters and looters during the Rodney King riots in '92 are admired and respected by all serious gun owners.
Hell, with some high profile Asians with their own YT channels who are retired Green Berets, SEALs and what not (Look up Johnny Kim, Tu Lam, Mike Glover, etc.) plenty of serious gun culture folks - of all races - are pissed off by these attacks.

I totally remember these shootings during the 90s...WC was all over the SGV high schools: The San Marino shooting at someone's house (SM became rich Asian enclave) was super memorable since one of the guys (Filipino with no affiliation) that was killed went to my HS. Since then, any gang activity in the area is very much more low key, as most of the guys got locked up or look legit from the outside.
Sounds like Montgomery County, MD
The Asian gang wars were brutal, ABZ would follow and ambush WC members in the freeways and vice versa. They didn't care about the innocent ppl caught in the crossfire.
