Should we build a “rad rod” with all the spare parts we have at the shop? And what should it be...
Hoonigan Bonus Yes!
Rail car.
build it off the rail car
Fuck yes
Hoonigan Bonus the wood car duh scotto
talk about true character, I love this build and seeing how much thought and effort it took to build it. Just seeing Scotto nerd out about this showed true craftsmanship
Absolutely gorgeous Build Biology, Scotto and crew. What a beautiful truck.
Think he'd be willing to come back and shred some tires later? Love to hear that turbo spooled up all the way
Brian it's interesting you mention Harry Miller. Hot rods of the 40's, 50's and 60's were traditionally built by teenagers who used older cars because that's all they could afford. Most 17 year olds in 1957 weren't buying Tri-5 Chevy's because it was too much money. This to me looks like the hot rod Harry Miller would've built if he were a teenager in the late 50's or early 60's. Way less "rat rod" way more tribute to young 50's and 60's hot rodders, building with whatever they could cheaply get their hands on. Great stuff lads!
Scotto and Mitch had this exact conversation after filming.
TheHoonigans that's because they're smart.😁
Ding ding ding sounds like a winning comment to me! Choppin tops
Brian’s attention to detail, and excitement while going over the truck is rad. Something about good conversation between an older guy and his strong passion for automotive is always a good time. Great episode, would love to have this even as a hot wheels car.
Perhaps Brian and Dan should do one together?? Brian's passion, Dan's fab knowledge.....
I agree.. his knowledge and Comradery are above the plate.. besides all burnout in parking lot videos. I’m not bitching. But it’s nice to see someone actually respect and know what’s been done to your car versus your normal 2jz swapped or LS swapped Nissan
You know he's a real car guy when he says. "It was my first time, idk if i did it right. BUT IT LOOKS GOOD" 😂
Nestor Rodriguez you know he’s a car guy when....
...he points out the tailgate is styled to reflect the grille bars.
...when he cherishes patina, but fabricates custom sponsons for the headlights so he can cover the shock mounts
...when he fabricates the roll cage to perfectly exit the cab roof at the visual apex of the roof corners
...when he doesn’t paint anything on the motor orange or neon green
...when the spartan seats don’t look retro, they look comfortable and artistically reflect the continuity of the build
You know he's a car guy when... He built that thing...(not to mention drives it, and took it on a 3hr round trip just so we could see it.) Love the way it's built, it's certainly not a Rat Rod in the sense it's come to mean. I'd say it's what Rat Rods *should* be like, well engineered and put together properly.
Scotto doing Build Biology is pretty cool. A nice change. I think you guys should switch up the hosts for this every so often.
That’s the plan. Some cars just fit different hosts.
+Akasha Posegate I wouldn't mind that, but hope Dan is the main host. He's super technical.
Ok one of the most badass looking cars you've brought to the garage. You can be a fast car guy like me, but c'mon this car is just so good looking, and it shreds
You should invite some of the guests to "a brew with", you've brought in quite a lot of guests with quite the automobile history.
dont let this distract you from the fact that brians audi isnt finished yet
And don't let this distract you from Bad Daddy Brad drop an LS engine a few episodes ago.
#ISITSCOTTOSDOESITRUN
#stillisntfinished
Maybe three t66 turbos and motec system exhaust?
U guys should let every worker pick out a car they wanna see 👊🏽 kikawa can bring a mob of smart cars
I am fifty eight, I am not old, I have patina.
classic...
It's the 25th anniversary of your 33rd birthday
flying munk89, so when I'm sixty I can say "it's the thirtieth anniversary of my thirtieth birthday." Or now "it's the twenty eighth anniversary.....etc.
ryvr madduck what ever sounds better man. I say my 8th anniversary of my 21st b day. But your a little higher up there. Lol so I kinda split it in half for 2 lower numbers
Hahahahaha
This thing’s probably got so much torque that it doesn’t move forwards along a road, instead it rotates the earth beneath it.
Josh Bacon fr!!!
When it's driven to the West the Earth rotation slows down, and when it is driven East rotation speeds up.
Josh Bacon #builtforchucknorris
That was a good one 🦐
Didn't know Mike Pence and General Mattis had a son
Lick Windows Daily the conservative super soldier project they didn't want you to know about..
This dude seems like a lot less of a piece of shit than either of those guys tho
Mitch Bowman As if any of them were pieces of shits to begin with
Mike Pence? The guy who thinks you can electrocute the gay out of children? Pretty big piece of shit my dude.
i was thinking R Lee Emery's younger brother
The turbo whine sounds like the raptor-bone-whistle from Jurassic park.
Uriah Siner mmmm raptor bone😏
It would actually be dope as fuck to purposely do that lol It would be really cool on one of those Jurassic Park Jeep Wranglers..except they don't have turbos..I guess could do it through the exhaust and make it really loud lol
Never thought I would hear the name Harry Miller mentioned on a Hoonigan vid but there it is!! Glad his contributions to are still being remembered !!!!
The notification bell will save you guys.
Use it wisely.. ⚡
Wise words.
I call BULLSHITTTTTT as mine never works
#kill all tires
Mine works great smoke a joint an watch them everyday when that bell goes off time to roll up lmfao
What a sweet build. I love Old Smokey, but not every build needs 1000+ HP.
PS Can you guys bring back the stabilizer on the handheld camera for the Build Biology series? No one needs shake cam or a lot of whip-panning when trying to focus on quality builds. Thanks!
I got $5 that says hert's been away getting his wrists rebuilt from flicking the go pro back n forth too fast.
One of the best looking and built and thought out trucks I've seen. Well done sir well done ( insert slow clap here)
Beautiful truck. I love this segment because of the variety. Not just drifters, but, off road, center drive and this beauty.
Yes!!! Having Brian host this ep was like having a substitute teacher that you actually like. Nothing against Dan but genuine excitement is undeniable.
*CUT TO THE BEAUTIES!*
...
at the end it would be cool for a 360 view of beauties, lets us enjoy the big picture after breaking it all down.
Hmm... not a bad suggestion
If they drive it, have an outro of them rolling off the lot.
In a way it shows appreciation and respect, separating them from the "Trailer Queens"
Now that Dan is going to have another show, can Scotto do the build biology for now on??? No offense to Dan but Scotto has a lot of knowledge when it comes to stuff like this.
We will continue to swap out the hosts depending on the cars. Different people are suited to different cars.
Dan is better because he doesn’t walk all over the car owner when they’re explaining things. More info could be put forth and Scott walked all over that shit
Dan dosen’t ask enough questions he just points things out. Whenever he makes episodes it feels like they’re over very quickly or they’re very boring
MrAwsomedude78 Dan is badass guys! Lets not ruin this. They are all equally entertaining. Who cares who does the Build Bio’s.
Lol...lets just stick to hosts that wear their damn pants correctly...my lordy
I'm so glad that this guy is finally getting so much recognition for his awesome truck. He's had it for a long time and drives it all the time.
honestly the first build biology i've been able to watch in full. beautiful machine and great conversation between scotto and mitch.
My favorite build so far. Wow.
I left a semi floater from my rear end in the toilet this morning.
evan hasner Fuck man underrated comment 😂
Those 7.3 internationals are the best Diesel engines ever. I’m rock solid right now.
Most incredible build I've seen in quite a long while. I'd love to see a build documentary of this guys next project.
It can't be a rat Rod because the front suspension isn't a poorly dropped axle booger welded to a transverse leaf and held on by 2 flimsy split pins.
All these people trying to comment something funny so they can win something while scotto only cares about how many times bad daddy brad said top dead center.
Robin Hindryckx TDC!
Thanks Scott O for bringing things like this in the shop for all to learn about the history of automobiles. #enjoylife #oldguysrule #oldguyracing&drifting
Something about that turbo sound just gives me chills. I MUST own a turbo car. The sound of the whistle as it spools up... Ahhhhh its like gods voice to a gearheads ears... The sound of a turbo.
It's 3:07 where I live and the day started off in a good way hoonigan fu life
Im praying for you Scotto...We believe in you 💜 #Carcain
No words can say about the imagination of a gear head!!! Designs and inspiration all start in your head
Saw this truck back when donut media did their video. Thank yall for this. Makes me love this truck even more
that half-hour went past like nothing, awesome car and great video
tommihommi1 half hour? You're doing it wrong, I'm watching it my 3rd time to read all of the comments
I’m a GM guy my self but can totally appreciate this ! Very cool and nicely done!
I've never understood putting yourself in a brand name category. me personally, if its got motor and its cool I like it. Just don't care about brands. They all have their faults.
+Twisted Link Fabrications my thoughts exactly I love American, Japanese, Italian, anything and everything. if it looks cool and been had someone's heart, sweat, blood, tears poured into it I love it
one of my favorite cars on build biology from a kid with hundreds of hot wheels growing up this is the one id cry in the isle of the super market for
Incredible attention to detail and execution. Im blown away by this build! Thanks for showing us this!
Man oh man would I love to see this thing spinning some super 10s out back....but the dualy is cool too.
Yea this channel is great keep up the good work
So nice to see stuff that’s done so well and all done almost entirely with no new parts. Shows what you can do with some passion and curiosity.
I’m in awe of this Ford. This guy thinks about hot rods all the time.
Somebody took one of the builds I want to do out of my brain, and brought it to the donut garage
Don’t you hate when that happens?
This. Is. So. Perfect.
This is a very nice build! When I look at this build I see a lot of hours of back breaking work , bloody knuckles and enough cussing to make a sailor blush. You have to show respect to a man that puts that much determination into a project like this.
Scotto broke this build down so well it looks like one of his cars.
Did everyone forget about “A beer with”??
Hert was the last episode ever!
TheHoonigans what a tragedy.
They do make bigger than f5. Roadkill’s Stubby bob is a f6 Ford.
Jayden Perry was just about to mention that! 👍
I dont think the F6 came around till 1950, where as in 49 the F5 was as big as you could get.
@@MATTCORNPRODUCTIONS Actually that isn't true, from 1948 to 1952 the trucks went f1 through f8
The builder of this truck is an amazing dude! Beautiful.
This truck was so well built and thought out that I'm not even upset that it didn't tear up the lot.
Dear Hoonigans,
I have school tomorrow and the day after that and you folks insist on posting at midnight smh either way great vid 👏🏼🔥
🤷♂️🙌
03Chubs shhh just deal with it... "dnt be a liberal".. schenanigans. #hoonigan post anything anytime
Dude try 3am on the East Coast... I feel like I’ve fallen into a crack binge some nights.
graggcrusmc I’m not a liberal 😂 but yes I deal with it and watch it either way 😂
Let It Reign and yes there’s been nights I sleep at 4 am and wake up at 7 to go straight to school lol worst thing ever lol
8:47 That's the first question I had.. if it weren't for the 7.3, powerstroke wouldn't be a thing.
Aaron Provin good ole 7.3, my F250 was my favorite truck with that 7.3, best engine ford made in my opinion
Trap Lord Jake, I had a 63 f100 dually, was an old wrecker. It had a 292 flat tappit v8. Low compression. Fairly decent motor. I have never owned a diesel. I will take your word for it being best. Personally I wished I did have my 63 with a diesel. Woyld have been great.
I’m at 300k on mine and its been one of the most reliable vehicles I’ve ever owned and also my first diesel
7.3 wasnt made by ford. International Harvester had the honors.
you're right.. that's probably why they hold up
Such an amazing build, the attention to detail is something else. Loving the build biologies, great work so far. Keep it up Hoonigans!
I can see from looking at the front of a vehicle whether it is happy. This dually looks absolutely proud in its new guise and stance. Well done mate.
What in the C-130 seats are these. I already feel nauseous looking at the seats.
“Brace yourselves, we are landing in a hot zone!”
Build Biology with #ElGigante himself? this must be special, i don't care is 3am, i'm watching this NOW!
This is of another level build... with the Art Deco feel of parts in era where it belong, this should be called an “Art Rod”...
A lot of hard work beautifully executed.
Scottsquatch
Do you have a great uncle named Charles? He writes phenomenal books
Let It Reign - You know, our names are so similar I wonder if we are related. I don't even know how I'd go about finding out if I'm related to him.
This car looks like Bone Shakers grandfather
I've had this idea floating around in my head for a truck I would love to build one day. This guy just basically built it! That thing is amazing! Great build and awesome video.
I love these types of builds where oem parts are used for custom applications, ensures that you can easily find replacements if needed pretty much anywhere...
Did hert has ded?
Geez Scotto's got cars chopped apart hidden away in stashes too? The carcaine is too real..
Super badass and unique build. Love seeing diesels shoved into things like this and ole smokey. Awesome attention to detail as well.
This is by far one of my favorite builds on this channel. So kick ass.
# where’s Gary
I would like to know how Mitch would have ended any of the fifteen sentences he was interrupted in the middle of. Tall kid needs a refresher in listening to people rather than showing off how much he knows.
heatshield : It would have been great to hear this owner/fabricator chat about his ideas and method. A lost opportunity with our host interrupting constantly. Better to have a two part visit then trying to compress this beautiful creation into one episode.
Scotto should helm all of the build bios. I feel like his random bits of auto knowledge really helps break things down a bit better. Great work on the video, and awesome truck.
Mitch gives off good energy, really enjoyed this episode guys, keep up the good work
When it becomes a hot wheel. some kids gonna buy it for a $1 and roll it down a hill and crash it. I think we all did it as kids. (Fun fact) theres more Hot Wheels then real cars!! #LEGENDS TOUR
Intercooler behind the radiator 🤔 interwarmer?
i scrolled all the way down here to make sure i wasn't the only one that seen it.... thought i was trippin haha
I guess it's better than no intercooler like the stock donor truck but i would have had to have it out front
snikwad003 agreed looked like an afterthought. 🤔
No intercooler would be better than running this... Hot air through the radiator would increase air intake temp not lower it
the hand held recording is holding this video back i feel. still great and this truck is insane
Truck is amazing, but the production quality on this vid is off the charts. Well done gentlemen.
The hoonigans are you guys going to create a hoonigan car pack or at least be in the forza horizon 4 because I will buy the DLC that you guys make or the owner of forza 4 makes you make it
Do you have the previous Hoonigan pack?
I do
TheHoonigans yes on forza horizon 3
Oh, it’s coming back for 4!
TheHoonigans are they going to be in better models and cars ( no offense) or be kinda the same or not ( by the way you don't have to tell me I was just curious
That thing is unreal!! In a wicked good way. Thanks for this one and for making him start it up, gotta hear these sick builds.
Very cool to see a retro fit of something so obscure, his knowledge of something other than LS, 2J, SR etc is refreshing, starting to understand Scotto`s obsession with his collection now.
Very cool build. I love the unique leaf spring design. I think it is neat that when customizing, to make parts work/fit the way you want, sometimes the directions are not necessarily required.
I really can't wait to see Scotto hosting more shows. He really has a passion that's been with Hoonigan since before DT#1, and the passion for sick cars that absolutely shred is what made me love Hoonigan in the first place. Scotto, we love you even if you have a carcaine problem.
Neighbors love that sound at 5 am in the morning. Dont ask me how I know! Lol!
that truck is art . looks amazing . a real builder . simply GORGEOUS!!
Man as a Ford guy seeing a 7.3 power stroke shaped into a old ford is just so cool.
One of my personal favourites on the channel, more home builts please!
I keep watching this over and over, that truck is the perfect build.
Sick truck! My 2 week old daughter was being fussy so I showed her this video and she calmed down and was totally smiling. Scotto is an awesome baby sitter!
Pretty much tearing up over this truck right now, absolute masterpiece. Also I wish Mitchell was my uncle.
Hurray a Build Biology that lets me listen to the engine. This needs to keep happening. I don't mind the music but I need to hear how the vehicles sound. It is one of the big reasons I watch you guys.
We heard you guys!
I can really appreciate Brian's input on this Build Biology. A lot of obscure knowledge and his appreciation for the design and engineering, as with all of the BB episodes. The devil's in the details.
After waking up from a stabbing pain in my back this vid is a beautiful thing. I hope he wins the hot wheels thing too so i can pick up one and set it on my shelf.
This has to be my favorite build of all vehicles. Keep coming back to this build.
Scotto's amazement with old cars is how Nads should be with Hondas.
Seems like the most epic budget build ever
Dan is cool but Brian brings and shares so much knowledge. I vote for a 50/50 host split
Even as a chevy guy this build is bad ass. I love watching these BBDs because it gives us home guys ideas. I'm building a 66" chevy dually at home by my self/ friends
Excellent interview !! Mitch is a Rock Star in my eyes. His truck is a piece of art. It proves thinking outside the box is COOL !!
This truck is the coolest, most interesting build I’ve ever seen come through Hoonigan. I’m crying Ford Blue tears of envy.
This F5 is definitely unique and I can appreciate the craftsmanship that went into it. Not something I would expect you guys to do a Build Bio on but so thankful you did Scotto. How many times did you ask him how much he wanted for it, lol? You guys should do a Build Biology on Bad Daddy Brad's hot rod next and any other member of Hoonigan that has a unique ride.
Great build, excellent interview!
