Girl no apologies needed. We are lucky to even get your content. I’m glad you are so detailed and don’t shy away from being real about mistakes!!
Wow thank you!
I agree! What you do is amazing and, honestly we appreciate the mistakes. It helps us to better visualize what is needed to do a project correctly (so we can make different mistakes LOL). I think for peeps that might be intimidated by the metal framing (I just don’t want to invest in those kind of tools for a one off project at this time), river rocks would make a nice, organic feeling border to cover the wire as well
When you were cutting the metal at a 90° angle, I think I yelled out loud "Rachel noooo!" Hahahahaha! It still came out great! Upload when you can, I'll wait. Your videos are worth the wait. And then some.
i love how real you are with projects. you show the entire process, even the mistakes. i hope i can be as amazing as you are one day♡
You guys got this!
This is just superb, been searching for "woodworking projects for babies" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Denia Diyictoria Bulldozer - (search on google ) ? Ive heard some decent things about it and my brother in law got excellent success with it.
Rachel, you are, legitimately, my hero. Thank you for showing us all how to be so gracefully human. Thank you for being real, and strong, and incredible.
Awe you are way too kind - I appreciate that xx.
always love how straight to the point you are with your intros
This one was real abrupt haha.
Omg metal working???! I love when you post because I’m like what is she going to challenge herself with this time. And the fact that your so humble about mistakes makes me feel better with my home projects. Please get into metal working that would be awesome
Also, I have asked a million times but, etsy shop?! I know your so busy just want to support!
FINALLY! someone showing ALL the steps to make a living wall. All the other videos I've watched leave out the important bits of info. Thank you x
Yay! Glad I can help.
Don't apologize. You're killing it. Thanks for being great
I LOVE that you show your mistakes, don't hide them away. Learn from them. I love this planter, can't wait to see it up in that space. Succelents are prolific breeders so they'll quickly fill the gaps. Way to go with the steel blades! I'm still working on my fear of the circular saw. :P
I FREAKING LOVE THIS!!!!! I NOW WANT TO RUN TO HOME DEPOT AND BUY A TON OF SUCCULENTS AND MAKE THIS FOR MY BACK PORCH. I LOVE THE DIFFERENT COLORS. YOUR GIRL AND REAL PLANTS SPECIFICALLY FLOWERS ARENT ALWAYS FRIENDS AND I'VE READ SO MANY THINGS SAYING SUCCULENTS ARE EASY TO KEEP ALIVE AND TAKE CARE OF. THIS IS WAY BETTER THAN JUST STICKING THEM IN LITTLE POTS ON A TABLE OR THE RAILING ON MY PORCH! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING!!!
I love your DIY's! Their always so real and you don't try to act like everything's so easy and nothing wrong happens. Plus, you explain everything really well so us watching can try it for ourselves! I've tried a few different projects thanks to you and have loved doing them! You've helped me overcome my fear of the big daddy power tools (or what seemed like they were scary until I got one in my hand and did it and thought hell yah I can do this! Hahah
Thanks pretty lady for the inspo and giving me the confidence and tips and tricks to try different wood projects!
Lots of love from Mass,
Xox-Delia
It's crazy how they aren't that scary, huh?
@@LivingtoDIYwithRachelMetz I was honestly shocked. Now my kids(10 and 4) both laugh at me when I say let's go to Home Depot most of the time they'll be excited and then realize ugh moms going to spend hours there looking at tools and random stuff that doesnt involve toys. Haha
Ever since I've discovered your channel I got hooked. Idk, man, i find them relaxing and it makes me want to start woodworking, even thought I live in a condo and i have no space what so ever 🤣 love your content, and i am looking forward to it every time 🤗🤗🤗
I hope you do! Just start small xx.
I saw someone else make one just like this. I love succulents!!
FYI Just a reminder next time wait TWO WEEKS before watering them because if any of the roots got damaged they will grow some kind of fungus or break off or something so you gotta wait two weeks to water after you transplant succulents. I didn’t know that either until my succulents started to die after I transplanted mine
I didn't know to wait 2 weeks after transplanting succulents. I hope the ones I just did survive🤞🏼😬
Wow, you are a great builder! I would recommend putting a metal stamped nail or tac on the wood where the metal is not overlapping. You can make it look like it was made that way for design purposes. It’s hardly noticeable and looks awesome!
Thanks for the tips!
Your videos get me through the week! No one is at 100 right now and that’s ok. Please don’t worry or apologize just keep having fun!!!
That's right Rachel. Keep it real. I have one succulent I'm trying to keep alive. It's been almost 4 months so far. 😃
You're doing better than you think you are girl, keep at it ❤️
Rachel can never do any wrong in my book!!! Love her!! Now, let me get back to work!!! Lol
Haha thank you!
Ah yes. That's one of those DIYs, that look super easy and then take way more time and effort, than one anticipated. Looks really nice, though!
This is cute asf!!! I also ran into the same issue with my succulent wall when I lived in Hawaii! I didn't realize that it needed to root, and when I put it up on the wall it fell out over night. It took three tries, and I finally got it!! Keep being a badass!!!
LOVE IT! You inspire so many of us ladies so apologies not necessary. Stay healthy talented girl and take care of you. We are here.
Thank you thank you thank you for keeping all your learning moments in. This is how people really learn. Being nervous or scared is natural, especially when there is a possibility of getting hurt. I want to start welding and I am both nervous and excited by the idea. Seeing you metal working when you are less than comfortable is encouraging and incredibly helpful to me, and others I am sure! Mistakes ARE progress though I know, believe me I know!, they do not feel that way. The little succulents are beautiful and hanging them up will be beautiful too.
Come for the DIY's and stay for the style!!!!! Thank you for all the videos, insight, and inspo.
Ratchets are the best I use them all the time. They are such an essential for me.
This is so, so cute! I love it. You are, basically, Wonder Woman. Watching you create these things and do your makeovers is so empowering! I love to see a strong, smart woman doing projects that were typically male-dominated. I also like to show my little girls your videos to inspire and empower them too. Also, I love that you are real - with your "mistakes" and your life situation. Coming off a breakup is devastating, in so many ways. Know that as much as I love your work and am so inspired by you, I am also sending you love and warm vibes for healing and hope in the days ahead. You have really huge and wonderful things ahead for you, I can feel it. Hope you are feeling 100% soon.
I absolutely love this channel. When I work on a project I am just like you. Make mistakes and work through them. Keep up the great work.
This is so cute!! I love the transparency of the making of your content 🥰
Thank you! I try to keep it as real as possible.
Yess girl! Now go get that Lowe’s partnership!!!
it looks really beautiful. And to be honest I like that you show your errors and the problems you run into, this makes it easier when I want to recreat it for myself. so thanks for that.
I love you, you are so empowering.
And I love you!
Rachel Metz you literally just made my day❤️ can’t wait to follow you on your next journeys. House flipping??? Omg too exciting
This is incredible the small mistakess make it even more beautiful. You show the reality of diys and I'm absolutely here for all of it
😂😂 girl! “I saw it in a movie” is gonna be my new excuse for everything
Keep it up girl!! You do what you have to do to recover, I love you and I am extremely grateful to any thing you post, diy, blog, whatever!! Gotchu always💯
Thank you for sticking to your dreams and making videos. I am so impressed by how you are handling emotionally rough times. I will do my best to support you because your videos give me so much joy
It got me nervous when you were cutting metal with that blade...but then I realized you know what you are doing. The moss makes such a diffidence. I love moss and ferns but here in Chennai,(India)it is just impossible to grow them. I tried and failed a lot of times. But its in deed a cool idea to hang succulents like that. I have been watching you channel since the very beginning and I know that you will surprise us...with full of energy...and lots of new ideas as always!
I LOVE watching your projects - small and large. You DO NOT need to apologise for anything. I’m astonished at how quickly you got up and running again after such a difficult and life changing blow. You are a resilient, strong, amazing young woman. Keep doing what you’re doing. I’ll be right here watching. (Little old lady here, watching from the UK)
So beautiful and I appreciate your “real-ness”
Thank you!
You are so genuine its obvious you're a real person and there's no way we expect you to be super human and do all of the things. Your content is so amazing and you're handling everything so well can't wait to see what's to come!!
So cute, I did something similar with a little wagon. One thing I learned when researching is that succulents need a lot of drainage, so I drilled holes into the sides an bottom. Super easy and super important.
I can't wait to see all the projects you're gonna do when you buy your own home! 🤗
I love the gradients / pops of red in your succulent planter! The moss to fill in the gaps was a great idea too -- will have to copy that someday ♥
Hi from Ireland Love the project. Btw the Irish moss is called clover or shamrock 🥰
Thank you! The label legit said Irish Moss haha thanks for the update.
Living to DIY with Rachel Metz ahahah no problem 😉
I've never been this early...
But I really enjoy watching your videos because you actually make and build things 😊
Awe thank you!
Yassss! I’m here for you buying your own house! So excited for you.
Soon enough!
You have made my future career goals seem actually attainable and videos like this one that show the real difficulties of DIY are just a breathe of fresh air. Thank you so much for all that you do and show.
Much love♥️
I love hardware cloth except it pokes the crap out of you.i love this Rachel very clever. Wow I’m impressed.
Another job well done lady Metz glad to see you are moving right along being you love it. Keep on doing what you are doing it's working for you. Love you girl until the next video please be safe
As always - thank you Randy!
Yesssss! I know I say it all the time but I get so exited for your videos! Gives me more ideas to work with around my 🏡

I still think the box is so dope...the edges are fine
Girl, you are too hard on yourself! Your videos are and have always been bomb af. Looking forward to what you have in store!
Ah thank you xx.
Here for all of this. ❤❤ it! 🙌😍😍
You will definitely pass this foggy phase and certainly look back , & laugh abt it :)
HOT GLUE is your friend on hanging succulent arrangements. A shallower frame too... Layer down the moss, then hot glue the succulent to the moss at the angle it will hang. That's how I make succulent wreaths.
new vid!! notification squad!!
YAS!
Such a cool project. And... the whole time I was like how da heck they gonna stay in the planter?? Duh, Mike Duh... you gotz to let dem take root first!! RESPECT on always showing the losses wit da wins!! Hoping all is well SuperCat!! Dirty Jersey out!!
I love the HI! 🤣🤣 simple cute awesome box!
Love the look of the metal work 👍🏼
It turned out beautiful! Thank you for showing all the details!
Thanks for watching!
omg girl that looks amazing!!! love your channel. I know here in san diego you can just use moss (instead of dirt) and glue. I did hot glue which worked fine (obvo not in direct light) and a crap ton of succulents. It's lighter weight, and you can hang immediately afterward. Since it doesn't have soil you have to water more often (once a week) Much love
Thanks for all the great tips on making this. It will look fab once you can hang it up.
Thank you for telling us the details no one else talks about, like letting the roots grow before hanging it up. You're so amazing and I love seeing you work your magic ❤️
Love the "hi" in there! Rachel, have you ever stained wood floors or whitewashed them? I want to do it but never have and was curious if you had or will plan to one day!
I have not stained or whitewashed floors before but these guys should be able to help: instagram.com/rubiomonocoat/
Always amazing videos. You are by far my favorite person on CZcams.

You are a pure soul ❤
Love how real you are and all the things you create. I wanna build so many things but I'm so afraid of power saws and you're inspiring me to just get out a try.
You could get paint to paint the frame spot the same color as the frame...😊
Give yourself some love and grace!!!
Love this!! Yes, I get intimidated with some tools... But getting there!! 😁 God bless! 🌸🌺
That is just SO good
You did an incredible job...
