This broadcaster said IKF's throw was wide, but the error was correctly attributed to Guerrero on baseball-reference as E3, same as Shulman on Sportsnet.

8:35 That's not bad baserunning there, it's bad coaching. The Jays announcer may not know it, but the Royals do that run on contact play all the time with a runner at 3rd and it never seems to work. There was an article published today in defense of it, but having watched this team the last several years and seeing it work maybe once a lot of fans are mad that they keep trying it. Glad the Royals were still able to get a win.
The contact play is the worst. Aaron Boone has gotten 20 guys thrown out at the plate in the last couple years. I really don’t see the up side of it.

With two outs and a runner on first instead of third, the scoring probability drops from roughly 30% to a little more than 20%. To me, though, that's a significant enough drop that I'd much rather just keep the runner on 3rd. Also, if the defense knows you're doing it they'll be more prepared to make a good throw home.
@@wademccormick254 I would definitely use it in some situations. Winning by a couple with a fast runner on third but Boone does it losing by one with Rizzo on third lol

Does Vladimir Guerro not realize that it is a privalege to play in the major leagues? There are a lot of people more deserving than he is to be in his position. He is not hitting, he is not running well and he is not covering first base well. Each year his play regresses. He is not his father and it's high time the Blue Jays organization realized this. Maybe a long stint back in the minors might help ignite his fire and talent for baseball or not.

When he came up Vlad was billed as a franchise player and budding superstar. That was 5 years ago. Neither has come true. He has raw talent in spades but the problem is between his ears. Lack of concentration, lack of discipline. Last night was a good example.

When you're useless on offense, the least you can do is be sound defensively. Vlad should bat 8th and Kirk should bat 9th. Every time people are on base, I dread seeing them at the plate. If Vlad has yet another disappointing season offensively, don't even bother going into arbitration, just get rid of him and let the more productive players have their shot.
