- The new MAGURA Cockpit Integration (MCi) is the world’s first hydraulic brake that’s fully integrated into the handlebar. With no external tubings, the MCi gives riders a tidy cockpit, better aerodynamics and greater protection for hydraulic components.

Me: Mmm I'd like to try a new handlebar
My brakes: No you dont
drill a hole and install into the new bars. the master cylinder is inside the handle bars. doesn't mean that it is part of them.
@@ryanokeefe12 you don't even need a hole. Just take off the handle bars when the break needs a bleeding
Seems like a solution to a non existing problem. I see only one pro, the clean looks.
Another benefit is that the hydraulics are safely stored away.
Guess you've never ripped a master cylinder off,
tbh I love when I can see the cables😅
Kito I have mine shrink tubes
Daniel f yea that’s a great idea. I use zip ties. :D
Im just waiting till seth's bike hacks reviews this.
lol if onlu u were correct
Vasko MTB if only u could spell
Vasko MTB if only u could spell
@@kayexclusives8119 im so sorry
@@VaskoTheScoutMain im so sorry
Pair these with the SRAM XX1 wireless stuff and you have the cleanest cockpit the world has seen
Theo Davies exactly what I was thinking😍cable-free cockpit
Alex Lefever the dream
Where do you see cables in this video?
Both xx1 and xo1 have AXS
Cleanest/most expensive
Looks cool but Man do you guys have a vendetta against us bike mechanics?
First thing i sed to my co worker, "man wouldn't that be fun to service!"
Just like cars. You gotta take the whole engine out to change on stupid belt.
My thoughts also not easy to fix when broken
It's not personal.
It's stricly buisness.
@@obi-wankenobi9871 yup or to replace your sparkys on the back side lol
what happens when you crash and smash the lever round 180?
Most of bikes have pins to protect against too big turn angle.
If you have to ask how much it costs, you can't afford it
Sick, now let's see this happen for dirt bikes!
Really...
Seat Time it don't work for dirt
This is awesome, can’t wait for the future of brakes!
I absolutely love the look of this, i would definitely get it in par with an xo1 axs system
Finally, this should be done many years ago!
but doesn't this limit the brake lever position to one exact spot and angle? i dont really think many people will like that
In this first concept the lever piston is fixed. You can move the handlebar grip up to 2cm outwards.
These look amazing!!
What if u crash ur lever into something and it can't twist to give way..?
The good thing is that the more delicate hydraulics are stored away in a strong (carbon) handlebar. If the lever brakes due to a crash, it is very unlikely that the hydraulics will be damaged, so only the lever would have to be changed.
Frigging awesome! that is some excellent engineering right there I love the lever options... just like a moto
Sehr geil gemacht Magura !
So sick, i want one!!!
Solving one minor problem and adding a ton of complexity. Ya no thanks!
🍺. Just somethin that can go wrong.
Barspin?
Don't think so, cuz of the rear brake lining, but haven't a depth vision of it, so maybe it's possible
its possible
Impossible
Nearly 20 years ago Yamaha did this on an off road bike called an air tricker,it is impossible using brake pipes running through the steerer tube. What a load of rubbish and sloppy design
the brakehose runs trough an cutout in the steerertube,
to make it spinnable the cutout must be 360* which would be impossible.
I'm sold where do I sign. Cant wait to see what's next. You guys are so innovative and a leader in this sport. If you ever want to be generous I'm down for some R&D testing for you guys. RIDE AND DESTROY!!! LOVE IT🤙
Shameless ass kissing
In love guys nice work
Good work boys!
What about moving the brakes further in/out
You can move the grip up to 2cm outwards.
Great idea
Love it, need it for my Bianchi Methanol. :>
I'd love to get one, but I also love my oneup edc
Beautiful.
Well done
Wow, it's pretty cool. Protects your system, cleans up the mess, kept debris out of the seals. Cool concept, but I see $$$$ , for this system obviously. And what if you want to swap bars and stuff like that. It's a little too proprietary for me, but I love the idea!
Very nice. I like. I would like to set up this system with my Sram AXS
It's looks great. Can i buy it for my fatbike?
Install these bad boys, and tell all your friends you have wireless disc brakes. They'd be blown away
Nice!
Sick 😍👍
Thanks!
Till end of minute 1:00.... just awesome, finally some new stuff for the market but the rest of the clip :-(
Especially that "cover magura frame" with that sticker on the headtube which already comes off.
this is an amazing concept love it
A true innovation and set Magura apart from others.
Cleaner look but is it worth it? Limited to only these handlebars.. are there different rise or width options? I’m assuming there internal routing allows for spinning of the handlebars because I’m not really sure why else you would want this...
State of the art😁😁😁
So good.. I like and I want
would be a sweet concept if it could be removed and inserted into other bars as well , bars of course would have to meet specs for sizing but otherwise sizing a bar wont be an option , fine for most but still an oversight unless its sold in multiple sizes to begin with. i like the idea of the hydraulics being tucked away though and less cables to snag
How long before these are available to buy I WANT THEM!!!
Price and release date missing?
How much lever position adjustment is there? How many grip options are there? Can you shorten the bars? How many stem options are there? Won't you need a custom-designed headset like the Trek Madone? Therefore, how many frames will this work on?
Are these levers going to need bleeding every couple of weeks like my mt7s 🙄?
Im really curious of the handlebar torsion and the tubing, how they solve it?
Barspins? Is it possibly to have a hydrologic version of the bmx brakes at the stem?
Is this going to be available for the 2020 model year, and will you have to have specific forks to use this system?
I think you can do bar spin as much as you want?
Parece ser muito top
Can you do barspins with these?
Maybe if there was a way to incorporate a wireless solution to brakes?? That can get complex though with modulation and such, but storing the battery in the handlebar the way they are with this design... seems like it could be doable?
Its entirely possible, but I think I'll stick to mechanical systems, I have a bad habit of forgetting to charge stuff.
Are you able to Do barspins with this handlebar
Can you do barspins?
What if i use front brake on the right hand as mx bikes?
stefano ath interchange brake lines at the connecting point!
No problem. You can switch the tubing connection.
Next innovation in the brake Industry
No brakes
Alpherr
Or wireless brakes would be better.
I have just one question. Which brand will allow you to drill a hole inside a sterer tube?
Can it do sweet bar spins?
But does it barspin?
I don't understand what's happing at the frame? How far does the bar turn? Hole in steerer? Holes in bar? How much bar strength is compromised?
I'll wait for the wireless brake system
We too.
Just imagine " connection Lost" on downhill . Play with your life if you want !
What happens when you spin the lever on the bars in a crash?
Will we see Danny with this?
Neat
Definitely more expensive than my whole bike
No. The price isn't decided as it´s not an aftermarket product but it is affordable. Stay tuned for the first serial production bike.
Ist das auf der Alb´ra gefilmt?
Can you unli barspin?
What if u want to change bars tho?
Change them, move the internal master cylinders over to the new bars... the master cylinder isn't PART of the handlebar.. it's just inside it.
@@ryanokeefe12
Yeah but it looks like theres a cut out in the bar where the lever connects. So it's in a specific spot. Not only could you not switch bars unless every handlebar manufacturer got on board with this but you cant move your lever closer or further from the grip or rotate them. Some people like the lever higher and parallel to the ground, others like them rotated down a bit...this is a cool idea but I dont think itll catch on until these issues are addressed.
@@shawnbowen6833 it's a hole. Drill it where you need it.
And before you say "I'm not going to weaken my bars by putting a hole in it".. Every single motorbike comes from the factory with holes drilled in the bars for locator pins on the throttle housing and switch housing. This includes mx bike throttle housings.
@@smokes420 which part mate? There's many parts to my response.
@@smokes420 have you ever pulled the control housings off of a motorcycle? I think not. Because if you did, you'd find the locating pins.
What happens if you break the bar itself? I've royal fucked levers in the past, but I've broken more bars than I have my cock pit set up.
If you break a bar say at the gap between lever and grip? It looks like you could cause the same amount if not more damage with it being an internal mech rather than maybe gashing up the metal on the levers and oil res on the bars. I'd give it a try because it could very well be that next step in biking, but I'm hesitant for my aforementioned reasons.
Price?
Is this barspin ready?😍😂
It looks amazing, but, is it heavier than the traditional system?
It´s only 20g heavier than a normal MAGURA MT.
MAGURA Ok, didn’t know it, thank you.
👏👏👏
I would have been much better to have a regular setup but with the hose coming out right at the clamp of the levers, then you could wrap the whole bar with roadie bartape and have a similarly slick setup.
This ideas great but I just want the frame
👌👍💥
I've been wondering why it has taken this long for this concept to become reality, never really understood what was the problem. Guess there are some, because I only see this now. Any idea when this might be purchasable?
Our MCi system is already available on some Kalkhoff models, as well as the Porsche eBike that they have developed with Rotwild.
Fully internally routed brakes definitely create some additional challenges, compared to a "normal" brake. But for every problem, there's a solution! :D
What's the point anyway? You're going to have a shifter cable, a suspension cable, and a dropper post cable (for some)
It's more a niche market product I think.. cuz there's some sort of electric and wireless shifters in the market already
E-shifting + the Magura wireless E-Dropperpost
Sram AXS wireless shifting + wireless dropper.
Can we do barspin with these
no, this would damage the tubing inside the stem and headset.
Do I have to drill two holes through my stem??
The MCi uses specific stems and handlebars.
@@MAGURAPassionPeople Got it.
MAGURA Congratulations, you‘ve played yourself.
Barspin? 90?
0:27 how are you supposed to cut two holes in your fork crown and still be able to turn the bars?
A solution would be to have the rear cable at the middle of the fork crown and then have a cable connector that can turn freely. Then they could just the front brake cable to the side
The real solution is screw this rout the front brake through the steerer tube and run a hydraulic gyro for the rear
Dont get it ? Whats is the yellow cable for? BT?Why call it wirles then?
It's not wireless, the hydraulic brake hoses are routed internally through the handlebars, stem, and headset area.
If can make wireless brake like sram axs maybe very awesome
When can I buy them ?
These will not be available as an aftermarket option, but rather on complete bikes which we will work on with the particular bike manufacturer. The first production bikes will be coming soon!
What about shifters then?
Wireless (di2 or axs)
This limits my options.
What happens if I want new brakes?
What happens if I want a different handlebar but dont want new brakes?
The problem I see here is that it ties the end user to all or nothing. Cant mix things up.
How much faster will this make me?
A watt or two, maybe.
pair with Cannondale f-si and Ocho fork
That would look awesome!
Want!
Take my money
2 levers vs 23 redundant gears hmmm let me think which is more ridiculous
😮😮
very nice. but keep it simple.
Cool concept but a nightmare for a home mechanic
Wow, well there we go. This instead of wireless brakes
