Fun fact: When my family first came to the US, they didn’t know anything about our customs, so neither did their kids. My aunt, mom, and uncle didn’t know what thanksgiving was until they were in elementary school, and they asked why they didn’t celebrate it. Wanting to fit in more with their American contemporaries, my very German family quickly threw together a thanksgiving and celebrated it for a few years before deciding it was too much of a hassle. Now our tradition is to get Chinese food and not go anywhere.

2 quick reminders about Thanksgiving: 1) 1/2 of the 102 Pilgrims died within 1 year of landing at Massachusetts because they weren't prepared to land that far north (they wanted to land closer to Jamestown, Virginia), & 2) The Native American tribe the Pilgrims celebrated Thanksgiving with showed them how to live off the land in exchange for providing them protection/weapons to fight a neighboring tribe

@L-Y3T she said in the podcast ages ago but basically she wasn't in it for a while covid time and then she was featured in a video after some time and people made remarks about her weight and called her fat and just being asses and she wasn't in a good space mentally so was eating more during lockdown so she doesn't show herself anymore because of the comments. Last time she was in one she was in an inflatable costume so people couldn't judge her body or weight:(

As a guy who's been fat all his life, I had to grow some thick skin against those motherfuckers. I've been where she was, but that's not the way I want to live my life.
