As Abraham Lincoln once said: "Many times I have found myself down on my knees because I simply had nowhere else to go." The dark night of the soul is something we all experience sometime in our lives. As horrible as that is, it does strengthen our faith by stripping away our illusions of complete personal autonomy. We NEED Christ, and in our despair, we discover that He is never far from us. Great video.

    Thank you for sharing.
A prolonged time of serious chronic illness can also be a trial.
The isolation, the exhaustion, the pain. Being misunderstood...
The temptation to wish you could go to Heaven...
But at the same time, knowing there are things left for you yo do here. And many things left for God to do IN you.
That there are people who need you even in your overwhelming weakness.

Thank you for sharing this - you are SO not ever alone, by now you know. For many years now, I've been in a hellish situation that has many arms and legs to it - events and people tat are beyond comprehension and yet, I DO comprehend it, and them, as God is with me more than ever in it all, along with His WORD that confirms everything. Every single trial, turn in the road, is a blessing as this is how He draws us nearer to Him, making every evil thing, agony, challenge, into something good for His Kingdom and for my good at once!🙏💔🙏

I remember him! I appreciate that he's honest about his experiences and doesn't present the usual missionary accounts that are so lofty, unattainable, and unrelatable for most people. To be honest, I can't relate to most of your guests. I can relate to him.
The silence of God is the closest thing to Hell on this planet for a believer. I didn't even THINK of Him allowing his servants to go insane under persecution. How terrifying. I pray He spares me such a fate.
The things God allows His children to endure are horrifying and unbearable. I will never comprehend it. Christians NEED to be told, before they are blindsided, like he was. Most of them are clueless and would never dream He would allow them even "regular" hardships, let alone the horrors of genuine persecution.
Oh, goodness, Isaiah 50:10 ! That's one of the verses God used in my life during a time of silence/darkness. And very recently, as well. It has kept me sane. What else is there? WHO else is there?
    John 6:66-69
(After the "I am the bread" of life portion)
After this many of his disciples turned back and no longer walked with him. So Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you want to go away as well?” Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life, and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God.”

Jesus did not escape persecution and neither did the 1st century Christians we see in the New Testament they all went through hardships and persecution and that is our fate as a child of God and follower of Christ. Our Lord and savior didn't escape that so neither would we after all He said himself the World hated Him first so the world will hate us. And I agree the church in America needs to get back into teaching the true doctrine of Jesus Christ and what is like to be Christ Like! Truly!

🤔having read the book it seems to me that Andrew might have believed in God and been a church goer but didn’t really come to know God until shortly before his release from prison. Read Peter Jasek’s book ‘Imprisoned with ISIS’ to hear from a man who knew the presence of God from before his imprisonment.

To the Christians here, i have a question:
Why do you use words not revealed by God Himself to explain who God is (or is not).? For example, you use the words person, essence, godhead, entity, trinity to explain who God is. Who gave you the authority to use such words to explain who God is ? Isn't this a transgression! Only God can describe Himself by Himself through his prophets , messengers or his revelations, anyone else doing that has gone astray and is lost.
In Islam, God has described Himself in the Quran by revealing His Attributes and His actions very clearly.
I don't see a Muslim jumping from the clarity to the confusion and transgression.
