- Happy new year! 2024 didn't exactly start like I thought it would 😅 This was supposed to be a getting back to work vlog but INSTEAD we've got a sick toddler and a sick me so we're doing a bit of life admin and a q&a about what comes next for me, personal/professional goals for 2024, and what comes after quitting. Do you have any goals for 2024? Let me know in the comments!

I think Mustard is probably okay with you not playing with him too much. Reptiles are great pets for teaching children about how not all animals like to be touched or played with - and sometimes it's best just to watch and talk about what they're doing instead. Mustard knows you love him because you give him crickets haha.
The lovely thing about Hannah Witton is that she just shows herself and her life without a lot of layers between her daily self and what she shows. Why might that be important? I am much better now, but I WAS radically sick (ileostomy! four months in medical facilities, two of them paralyzed, yikes!). During the Big Sick, I was in bed for interminable periods and I listened to Hannah share her life, just being her random self, sharing Dan, sharing her baby, sharing her stoma. : ) I first found my way to witnessing our Hannah crash through her days due to the illness and ileostomy and associated, and I can't tell you how hilarious I found it to eventually discover my favorite CZcamsr was actually a professional sex educator, not the obvious fit at all for an ailing 70-year-old woman paralyzed in a nursing home! Can't tell you how much I enjoyed her!! Now, I am fully recovered, or as much as you ever can do in your seventies, and still quite in love with our Hannah. It was wonderful in the midst of all of that Might Die Here! that Hannah had her baby and shared that. I love it that she is continuing to share her evolution of life and self and family. I am having my morning coffee with her right now, and what a joy she is. Thank you, Hannah. : ) P.S. I looks like the bookcases from the studio have found their new home in the master bedroom; was quite happy to see them!
As someone with MECFS, I just want to inform/remind you and people watching that pushing through exhaustion after illness (even "just" to clean up your home like you did in this video) is dangerous and can sometimes result in permanent disability, so I urge everyone to rest as much as possible whenever you are tired and recovering from illness. Also everyone please wear masks in public spaces (even if you're asymptomatic & feel healthy) to stop the spread of illnesses and to protect immunocompromised people in your community!
Yes!!! Yes to all of this
Heartily agreed!
if only companies gave more of a crap about their employees health, unfortunately a bit hard to take time to rest with illness when you're worried you'll lose your job because of it 🫤
completely agree - if you don't take the resting then the resting will take you!!
Yessss ESPECIALLY if you are immunocompromised, which includes having had serious health issues in the past or a recent illness
"mustard knows that he's in there" was just a brilliant mix-up! 😂
its only a matter of time until mustard puts rowan in the tank so she can roam free ;)
For me personally, I’d rather not have videos use the ‘premiere’ feature as if you come in late to them it’s a faff getting back to the start so I leave and then often forget to watch later - but could just be me!
The color combo of the wall, couch, and pillows is making me SO happy. I love that your 2024 is starting off with excitement about all ways you can invest in/develop yourself! I am also a hardcore Structure At All Times Even When Relaxing Otherwise I'll Dissolve Into Madness person. Why exist in that anxiety if you don't have to, I ask.
Hahaha that is an accurate description 😅
As a busy working mom who co parents I actually plan out my down days, solo time. So maybe putting it in your calendar as a reading block, puzzling block, watch show etc might also help trick *comfort* your brain haha
The minute your videos play, I feel immediate relief and comfort. This channel feels so homey to me 💛 Been following you for what seems like forever, and I cannot currently afford to be a patron, but it's one of my goals for this year simply because I appreciate all you do and want to support you 🌻 We love you Hannah!
Thank you so much for the vomit chat warnings! As someone with emetaphobia it makes me feel so safe and seen ❤️
I can so RELATE to all you said about having an empty calendar and then panicking and then feeling low…nice to hear someone talk about that :)
Great start to 2024 More Hannah!
so good so see you "back" - love the lifestyley videos (:
Yes! I can’t wait to see your artist’s way vid!
i started doing the artist way at the beginning of my unemployment period and it’s helped me a lot! i’m excited to see how it goes for you
I feel you about illnesses never stopping lately. We (me, my husband and my 1,5 yo kid) have all been alternately on and off sick since October (she got into childcare in Sept) and it's still ongoing 🙈 The other prents warning me about this were not kidding. I hope you are all better now 😊
We are but it definitely took a while!
Once you have one thing (especially something like covid, which can absolutely demolish your immune system) it makes you so much more vulnerable to everything else :(
I also had a sickness filled start to the new year so sending solidarity! Hope you are feeling better xx
I was midway through watching and then it went to premiere 😂 loved what Ive seen so far, I'll be back!!
Loving the yellow wall behind your blue couch! So inviting.
Good luck on your project management venture journey 👍! I hope you all feel better soon 💕.
I have a 3 month old and the idea of an unplanned day to do what I want is literally the dream
Yay! She is back❤❤❤
Cool that you're doing the Artist's Way! I've done it twice, and it's very fun. The most difficult part is actually doing the artist dates, so I would say keep that in mind and plan accordingly :)
Hi Hannah! Really loving getting to follow this new chapter in your life!
Your plan for making a list of things you like doing that stimulate you without being too work-related sounds a lot like a "Dopa-menu" or dopamine menu.
I've been having trouble finding things to do that brings me joy so I just end up scrolling on my phone or feeling like I'm "wasting" my time feeling understimulated. Writing this menu of options has helped me feel more in control of my time, and having a set number of options make choosing an activity for the day/morning/afternoon less overwhelming.
I can really recommend at least looking it up, maybe an idea for a future video? :)
Wishing you calm and joy in the new year
I am in a funk and watching this is helping. Thanks Hannah!
Storygraph for the win!! It's what I've used myself for the past few years :)
My partner and I just started the Artist's Way as well! I'm so excited!
It's so cool that you can braid your hair like that, I could never last this long with my arms up. 😂
It is definitely a workout
i have hair thats a bit longer than hannahs and i have to give my arms a quick rest in between doing each side lol
Same. As someone with POTS, I get lightheaded with my arms up for more than like 10-20 seconds
Oh wow. On lunch and u popped up, can't wait to watch!
I thought I wasn't a planner, too easy going for that, but what you said resonates. When I don't have a plan for the day I get anxious and then do mindless scrolling/youtubing instead of the things I actually want to do and focus on creativity which gives me energy. That bad habit then ends up making me feeling like shite.
I literally bought a physical calendar/planner today so that I can checkmark activities I actually want to do and feel better about myself. Checkmarks bring me joy 😅 - the more you know (know thyself that is).
These books sounds amazing! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵
I'm so excited for your new adventures Hannah!! ❤
You mentioned your experience with Patreon and being able to help specifically with that area of project management.
Have you looked to see if Patreon is hiring or reached out to them? I know you have mentioned that they are not a flawless company and they have issues as other creators have, therefore, might be the perfect candidate to work with them.
As someone with emetophobia, thanks for much for the TW, I really appreciate it
Parenting while sick is the hardest!
And so stressful to feel the pressure to function when all your body (and mind) desperately need is rest
Wishing you a Biggo thumbs up for the next chapter! I know it can feel scary but it’s helpful to hold on to how stuff has worked out in the past and not live in the moment too much??!! I say that as someone who last night sent a thank you email to a big cheese who gave me some helpful advice about badgering the right people in the industry… I sent it in March last year and I re read my original message and it took me back to how much of a struggle that time was… (including being desperate enough to send a rogue ‘please advise’ email to someone out of my league in the industry!!!) to be where I am today with a delightfully full-on project I am LOVING with my freelance hat firmly on and feeling GREAT… I say that coz a lot of the time it doesn’t feel fab and that’s okay… but I’m really excited for you to find your new groove and enjoy it as it grows into this - the struggle is real but it’s helpful to look back on and see where the journey started and where it’s going! All the absolute best!! Rachel x
You introduced me to 5 year diaries as well and I’m on year 5 now!!
If you want something fun to do, (to add to your creative list) I can recommend an exhibition you might like - Fashion City at Museum of London Docklands, its all about different waves of Jewish migrants to London and the impact they had on the clothing and fashion industry, from being seamstresses and tailors in the east end to owning high end boutiques in the west end and Carnaby Street. The museum itself is really kid friendly too (though the exhibition is more for adults)
Agreed, Mudlarks is amazing for children as well!
Hey Hannah! I'm like you and like to plan things roughly even if my intentions are to take it easy, prioritize leisure, etc. so I like to still structure my days a bit. I do that a lot on the weekend where I have a Saturday morning movement class online, and I plan on knitting and listening to my audiobook at some point that day. Or on a Sunday I will have book club, and plan on going for a long walk in the park (again, at some point). So I have a mix of scheduled things and non-scheduled-but-planned things, and then there is still space for spontaneity if I feel like it. Finding repeatability during the week helped me when I was freelancing, so I made sure to have leisure things scheduled (movement class, coffee date, coworking session with friend...) while keeping other moments open. I even built a Mural board system to plan my weeks with blocks of planned things and blocks that were "up for grabs." I hope this helps :)
Love this kind of videos, I'm excited to follow your journey this year!
Every time I have subtitles on and it's just the music playing it says "[upbeat jazz music]". But, as a Brazilian, I can say it's clearly bossa nova. It's it's completely stupid, but it gets me every time!! Hahahahaha
positive comment for the algorithm and good vibes for the new professional journey :)
As someone who is being made redundant in a month, it's very interesting hearing your thoughts on your plans for post-CZcams!
Fingers crossed for the both of us!
If you want more Julia Whelan audiobook recs, listen to The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue! Amazing book, LOVELY narration work
I can highly relate to getting back on house caring (had been having a really low energy week with my period, where my body has asked me for a lot of sleep and sweets, and then went into demand it with migraines xD)
I also love Julia Whelan as an audiobook narrator!! If you haven't read Educated by Tara Westover, it is a must
I retired early from a pretty full-on career - and discovered I need to set myself a little objective every day, otherwise like you I feel a bit rudderless and out of sorts. Just one little objective, then I'm fine.
Hannah, as you love tennis and Taylor Jenkins Reid books, you should definitely read Carrie Soto is Back! I'm reading it now and it's great
Thanks!
I never felt more seen than when you said "carefree and unscheduled and yet she is planning to be unscheduled" because I AM THE SAME!
I'm the same with needing to plan my time off. Its interesting the word you chose for your gaps though, you called it "Emptyness". I definitely feel empty when im not occupied too and end up feeling guilty for having space where im doing nothing (or what in my head is doing nothing). I guess we should be using some more positive sounding words for it like, time to rest or uncheduled fun time lol, which might make the downtime feel more healthy haha.
my whole family also had a stomach bug over Xmas, and I knew so many other people who were struck down!! glad you’re doing better !
i relate to the feeling like a bad pet mum😅 we have a tortoise and i always feel a bit bad that we don't play with him as much since our daughter was born 15 months ago. she is also getting really interested in him though the same way you said rowan is with mustard, she constantly wants me to lift her up so she can stare at him🤣😅
Hahah yeah Rowan keeps pointing at her tank saying “out out” but she’s always asleep!
Maybe it would work for you to calendar block time for leisure/ rest activities so you are not completely restless, then use your list to decide which activity to do
Christmas time is always when Norovirus and Rotavirus (the most common cause of stomach bug) are surging unfortunately. Because at winter it can survive longer on surfaces and also because people are eating lots of festive food which burden their digestive system making it less able to fight those infections. As a result the viral load in population is significantly increased. Route of transmission is fecal-oral but it is still very easy to catch it because only a few virus particles are needed to eat.
I did The Artists Way around 2017, and it helped me gain insight into my career goals, and focus. I totally switched careers and have been working with it ever since. It helped me find myself again too after losing myself in the corporate world. I hope you find what you need in it too
Love the new spice rack
if you've never read it before, and youre trying to get a routine going from scratch I SUPER recommend Better Then Before by Gretchen Rubin. i read it every new year because it's SUCH a good book about the personalized psychology of habits.
Ooh I’ve heard of Gretchen Rubin!
@@morehannah she came up with the 4 Tendencies, which are four ways most people tend to react/respond to expectation and the books about how to harness the accoutrement of habits to best suit your nature. like Hogwarts houses for Routines, haha. im a Rebel, but id guess youre an Upholder -- or maybe a Questioner 🤔??
@@dsalazarm if you like her book you're probably really like @muchelleb 's content!
I would really recommend starting with the Happiness Project, also by her - it's the perfect book to read when you're facing a big life change!
Love u Hannah
Happy New Year!, couple of questions/comments
1. Have you considered working directly with Patreon? Like doing conferences or having customers from them, etc.
2. I heard there is a requirement on CZcams about posting every 6months or so in order to keep monetizing, is that something you would do to keep the other channel alive?
3. Are you interested on writing a sex education book for kids? Or exploring that area.
Thanks
Yeah I am suck at having too much free time. There's like a golden window where I can chill and watch tv or go to a cafe and read a book. But any longer and I have to clean/ organise/ yup get in a funk. Luckily (😅) that has not been any issue at all since the birth of my daughter 17 months ago 😋
Omg so similar. Have jusy dropped the daytime bottle so i dont need to pump during the day. Nurse morning and evening, which is great. Also stuck nursing a lot at nihht which is not great (17 months).
I feel like you'd really enjoy Canada or New Zealand. But Germany would be so cool! You could go explore where your family comes from

I don't remember if this was the plan or not, but if it wasn't too much or took time away from your career, I would honestly really enjoy just random vlogs whenever you felt like it! I love that type of content
If you ever need a random video idea it would be interesting to see the difference between a week taking care of mustard vs a human child
💖
Hearing you talk about, Patreon sounded less like a project manager and more like a course. I don’t know if that’s a direction you want to go in, but the one-to-many versus one-to-one way of delivering help could be an avenue to explore. (I know you do that with CZcams all the time, but I’m talking a specific paywalled offering!)
Yes, join the side shave club! Natalie Dormer is responsible for mine too. 😂
If you want another somewhat serious romance (partly) narrated by Julia I would suggest Part of your world (TW:domestic verbal abuse from her ex)
The romance that she wrote and narrated about audiobook narrators (Thank you for listening) is very fun
We need a 'Hannah Plays Tennis' vlog!
Hannah, i know youve shared the bra brand in an insta story or what ever but i need to know it! Hahah
Currently preggy with our second and almost busting out of my bra's (34G)... need your help hihihi thanks! ❤❤❤
I had the plague that must not be named over Christmas and it completely wiped me out 😂
Julia Whalen wrote two books and I would highly recommend them! Called Thank you for listening and My Oxford year.
I listened to thank you for listening - not my favourite but alright!
Random question: whilst I’m not there yet, I am looking at the possibility of a stoma being fitted after surgery for endometriosis. I’m registered blind and worried as fuck about managing a stoma as a blind person. Do you know anyone that is blind (I have a small amount of vision, but it’s finger counting so no real use for things like cutting the bags to fit my stoma and generally taking care of it. It’s possible, maybe even probable, that I won’t end up needing one but I’m driving myself nuts trying to figure out how the hell I am going to manage that and the stress of thinking of it is making me extra anxious. If you can help with a contact I’d be so, so grateful.
I don’t know anyone myself but would recommend speaking to a stoma nurse at your hospital to help with all those questions and put you at ease - they are amazing resources and support in all things stoma! Also, you wouldn’t have to worry about cutting your bag because they can pre-cut them so they arrive all done and ready to fit your stoma :) I don’t get my bags pre-cut because I enjoy cutting them myself lol
@@morehannah thank you. I’m not sure I can talk to the stoma nurse if I’m only worried about one in the near future, but I shall talk things through with them ASAP.
A lot of the things you mention you like doing sound a lot like management consultancy. Just throwing it out there in case it is of any help for research/ideas:).
Hannah, Tom Scott, MatPat *sad noises*

Silent working club unite!
What about a Stacey Solomon "sort your life out" type job where you help other people sort their junk out?
I watch a really great daily vlogger. She wants to make more money from the daily vlogs. Would it be ok to point her in your direction. Could you help her. If not you, then someone else who can help. I see things she could chance and tweek , but I am just a subscriber. ❤❤❤
Poland is right next to Germany, come by 😀 a lot of Jewish history here
support with patreon would be AMAZING
The day before my massive colon obstruction that led to my permanent ileostomy! 😂 Sounds like you have a very interesting life.
Parenting video where you and Dan analyse each others parenting skills? What surprised you about each others skills, what do you think the other could improve upon. Like a performance review but for parenting 😅
Suggestion for the hypothetical OnlyFans name question: "WAY More Hannah"
Hi!
SARS-CoV-2 is still very much around and causing havroc on people's health. Vomiting and GI symptoms seem to be common symptoms with this variant: JN1
Dan was probably infected but didn't show any symptoms.
It's probably too late for you to get tested now, but rest as much as you can, don't do intense exercise for at least 3 months, and be on the look out for any long covid symptoms.
This!
Mini skirt & patterned tights? Do you have a problem wearing tights with a stoma?
The aggressive hair brushing hurts me just seeing it 🙈
she needs to quit..she could be blamed as part of something.
Now it’s time for some onlyfans content
Have you tried not being weird to women
I've always loved this channel and am so grateful to be able to come back to it whenever I need a pick me up. Your down to earth nature never fails to make me smile. 🤍 I was wondering if you might ever do an updated stoma video, now that you've been living with it so long and have a toddler. How has your routine changed from when you first got it? Did pregnancy change things with your stoma care? Does carrying Rowan and not knocking it get tricky now that he's bigger? Thank you for all your honesty!
