Missouri is a solid program they are going to get players.
Zollers went to play for a team that has actually beaten Ohio State. PSU hasn't beaten Ohio State since Obama was president. It's a new day, folks. The new rules are, there are no rules. Mizzou has embraced it and is making a leap forward. Unless PSU embraces it, they are going to fall back.

Matt the problem isn't PSU having SWH therefor not paying recruits. The issue is they simply don't have the NIL money to make million-dollar NIL offers.
Not true at all!!! They have the money 💰, the problem is the constant disagreement with the board of trustees and University heads and athletic staff in general, nobody is on the same page!!!
Penn State has the money. Some of the people in charge of these decisions do not want to spend it. Penn State is a top 10 earner in athletics revenue. Fringe top 10, but still top 10.

Mizzou has close to a top 10 NIL collective. They need it to compete. They also been in the game big since the beginning. They have missouri legislature making laws to help them. This won't be the last time they get a top kid from areas they haven't recruited well in the past.
Paying a kid straight out of high school 2m to play a game is just obscene.

I don't see Zollers as a 5 star I'm sorry. Not sure about his competition at Royersford. He solid 4* to me at best. I like Grunk better as future. I think Kritza and Washington almost as good as Zollers as well.

Zollers does face solid competition. He threw 37 TD to 2 INT against those schools. On3 ranks him no. 3 in the nation. Easily could finish as a 5-star.

It’s not all NIL money. The big set you up for life money for top level HS prospects is getting developed to be drafted high into the NFL. Correct me if I’m wrong, but Penn St has an absolutely abysmal record in that department when it comes to Quarterback’s. They better turn things around with Allar and quick, or no top blue chip QB is going let them in the door when they visit.
It is not only about that, but that is a part and a 11-2 cotton bowl winning team. MIZ!!!!
Missouri at present is a stronger team in a stronger Conference.

He doesn't want to ride the bench for a couple of years. He wants to play, get experience, and then move on to the NFL. PSU has several good QBs on the team. PSU is not hurting in the least by not getting Zollers. Recruiting a good QB in the 2026 class will be more important.
As a Mizzou fan, I hope your right. I just fear he'll go to Mizzou, and ride the bench his freshman year. Then, he'll realize Mizzou will recruit experienced portal QBs, and transfer back to Penn State once he doesn't beat an experienced portal QB.
@@ToddRobinson13 Ah, things have changed dramatically in college football in the last 5 years. The kids come and go, and then sometimes they come again. Fans have to see who shows up on August 1st ready to play football and then play the season. It starts over every year. The old way of building a team over 2-3 years is gone. I hope Zollers plays lights out for you guys and is very successful. He has the physical attributes, and like all college QBs, the right offensive scheme and coaching make all the difference. Smolik probably transfer and Allar might go pro with a good season this year.
QB is the most important position. You need as many as you can get because you never know who could leave in the transfer portal.

First of all, PSU wasn't his 2nd choice! UGA was. ALA jumped PSU & was only in the game for a couple of weeks. I'm not even sure if PSU was above PIT.
He literally said at his pressy that the allure of being 2 hrs from home was a nice thought but PSU wasn't the right fit for him.
MIZ will be in the race for a Natty this year & in the years to come, PSU will not.
PSU is a 2nd tier B1G school.
MIC, OSU, ORE, & USC are tier 1.
PSU, WAS, WIS, IOW are tier 2.
Then the rest.
PSU is not in the convo. Franklin is not a good coach. Nobody does less with more.
Franklin cannot develop a QB.
MIZ develops guys. All of those MIZ players going into the NFL this year were 3 stars, Schroeder didn't have any stars. That's coaching.
PSU is a stagnant program & MIZ is on the rise.
It wasn't just NIL, but he definitely got paid.
Your analysis that Zollers has an easier path at MIZ? MIZ has Sam Horn a 4 star top 150 guy from Tex, & Pyne former ND/ARI QB 4 star top 150 guy. They recruited high 3 star Aiden Glover, & I wouldn't be surprised if they added another QB in the winter portal.
They have the best WR core in the country. Next year they'll have 6 4 star WRs, plus whoever they bring in in 2025. They have 3 4 star RBs plus two transfers.
The OLine is stacked, & the def may be better than last year.
Top notch coaching staff. Kirby Moore was the most sought after OC in the off season.

Lastly this honor bs. How many players did you steal from WIS the past two years & literally tampered with committed recruits.

The people saying that we don’t need Zollers cause he is just going for money are miss informed and are on copium. This is a massive miss for Penn State and it all happened because their approach to recruiting. Penn State’s approach has been to scout better than the rest and offer early. This helps us get many recruits early who are loyal which is good. The problem that was fully displayed here was that when you have a player committed in a position that don’t have a lot of roster position mobility like QB. Recruits are not gonna want to fight for a starting spot in their class. Matt Zollers is the first commit in Missouri’s class. While I don’t think this is Missouri’s approach is the best to not recruit early all together. I do think we should incorporate a hybrid recruiting strategy offering early in certain positions and later in other positions.
Missouri is not a top 20 program typically. It generally lands in the lower half of the SEC.
Or we had a bad coach which was the reason for the bad years. Pinkel did fine. Drink has built the program back up and seems to be fine
Missouri has 3 11+ winning seasons in the last 10 years it is not like they are bottom feeders. WR room is loaded as well.

All about perspective. You and others might say ruin, some people are saying it is better. To me, it never made sense to prevent players from having endorsements just because they played a sport. Same thing with choosing what school to go to. Losing rights because you are good at sport does not sit right with me.
