  • @AussieGarbo
    @AussieGarbo Před 11 měsíci

    Wow those 60L are so tiny!!! You only have so much area available to wrap the grabs around the sides, anything too out of position and you're holding onto the wheels or lip haha Interesting to see the new trio of household bins, the 60/120/240 sizes plus the different lid colours is a nice sight being out of the ordinary. I'm guessing they trialled both the 60L and 120L food bins in different streets to get a mix of feedback. Also a little different running a food waste only program, been a couple councils here in Sydney that have done food waste only with units, but can't think of any that trialled it with houses. Seeing the whole size of the truck at 8:55 makes me wonder how much of that body volume is actually filled with material, seems to me you only need maximum 5 cubic metre capacity for this job lol Not sure if you captured any photos of the garbage, recycle and food bins together in a set, but I'd be keen to have a picture showing them as a group if you can send one to me =D

    • @GunzelingGarbo102
      @GunzelingGarbo102  Před 7 měsíci

      Haha this is a job that does take a bit of precision operating, not too sure if a bouncy old SuperiorPak is the best suit for it but it seems to go alright. I did take a picture of all three lined up together when I was out there, but in all honesty it seems to have vanished from my computer which sucks. I’m not too sure how practical the food waste system is, I would think just am having a regular fogo service is more practical. I don’t think he’s filling up the entire truck based on the size of the area he’s doing, if it were to become a council wide service they could easily get it done with 2-3 trucks no problems I would think.

      I think it's a very very good idea personally imagine a house say in rural greater Geelong they have a lot of green waste and a lot of say young children like babies or toddlers and they don't eat all of there dinner cause they can be fussy eaters sometimes and also even with the container diposit scheme there will still be certain glass items like wine bottles and jam jars and I think to keep putting them in the yellow lid bin will just keep creating a risk of contaminating more recycling like paper and cardboard

      @laurin4339 Před 2 lety +1

      Nah 60l. is perfect in my opinion. The arm can still grab it. Another 120L. would be far too big and would piss off even more residents, I mean who has the space to store five bins. Besides, if collected weekly which I assume, a 60l. is enough, people don‘t need a weekly 120l. bin for just food waste lol, who‘s gonna fill that up. Another good thing about the 60l. bins is that you can actually store them in the kitchen. But just making the green waste bin weekly and Fogo would be so much easier than another bin……

Back then I don't think I noticed the unit number at all. I think it's stupid to have a 60L food waste bin, it can get full easily. What type of bins r the trial food waste bins? FOGO better not having a separate bin, it's very weird and stupid imo. But having a separate bin for food waste is interesting. Just noticed there's signage on the other side of the truck. Ah we finally have some common sense of using a 120L food waste bin. Signage looks okay, hope the trial goes well. How long does the trial go for approx?
