I've followed a lot of your fb posts, and you have been such an inspiration. Hearing all the wonderful things about a deaf toddler is a blessing to me, because even I have been autistic, and came a long way from where I was when I was little.
Wow, Beth! This is amazing! I was born with Spina Bifida, and growing up with that, being already singled out physically was very tough for me. I'm almost 27, so much of that has certainly passed me. But some days I still feel the hurt, the struggles that this world can bring for those of us who deal with these things. I'm so glad you have taken a step to make kids like Cooper, and those who will have to grow up like me, feel seen and loved.
@@beth_and_coop I love the inclusion part of this book! I’m a triplet and all three of us were born at 25 weeks, and we all had brain bleeds. We spent 77,79, and 153 days on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, or NICU. One of my siblings got the worst of out prematurity. Me and my other sister, though don’t have any delays/issue. My disabled sister has cerebral palsy and epilepsy. She can’t walk, but she is an amazing person. She can talk, but it is hard for some people to understand her. I’m in middle school and we read the book Out of My Mind, (I’ve already read it multiple times) and I’ve shared some of my experiences with my sister to my peers. The book is about Melody Brooks, a girl living with CP. Growing up, living with and being around a person who is disabled, it was my ‘normal’. Now, as I get older, I realize that not everyone has been exposed and has gotten used to CP and other disabilities. I hope to be an advocate for disabled people, especially my sister. I want people to stop staring at her, saying things about her, and all of the other things middle schoolers (and most other people too) do. Luckily, I have AMAZING friends who love to hang out with all three of us! Even if you don’t see this, I just want to say, I LOVE your mission and I will continue to be a supporter of yours on CZcams! With love from Iowa, Annaliese ❤
I was born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 2. I am 37 and was born in a time when I felt differently abled people were seen as tolerated more than included. I was the first kid in a wheelchair to go to my Elementary School. I had a few friends, but I never felt like I belonged. I didn't feel like I belonged in the able bodied world or the ability challenged world and have felt that way my entire life. Thank you for writing this book, I hope that it reaches those that feel like they don't belong and changes that feeling. I also hope that it reaches those children that are weary of those that are differently abled and teaches them that we are just like them on the inside. Sincerely, A Fellow Minnesotan

I love your videos! Cooper is so RAD...! My 8yr old Casey and I love watching him. Love his voice, and the way he asks questions ❤️ Honestly, I struggle a lot raising a child..Girl you take the cake at having patience. Your so amazing, I definitely have learned a lot from you! So, thank you! Wish you lived closer, you seem so fun to hangout with...❤
I'm 64 yrs old and I want to thank her too. Whenever I'm down when I'm missing my own grandson I watch the two of them. Cooper reminds me so much of my grandson at that age(he just turned 8 the 6th of Dec.) it's unbelievable❣️❣️His little heart shaped mouth and those big blue eyes and he's such an adorable personality🥰Thank YOU Beth for all you do❣️❣️
Just asking because every time I see Coop he reminds me of the beautiful pictures I have seen of people with Waadenburg syndrome and that syndrome can affect hearing. Does he have that? Hoping not to offend just curious.
Did i miss something? Where's the dad? It's ok to be a single parent and just be focused on your one child. But hopefully she gets help. This reminds me i want to learn ASL and eventually help with deaf or blind . He's adorable ❤❤❤
PLEASE stop under toning your voice and the intentional crackle Pleeeaaaassse stop it some people have a audio sensory when we hear your authentic voice, then hear this it F@#@ with the over load STOP IT PLEASE
@@mindybunny idk the right word but i dang sure know you heard it its not a put down or some trolling comment those forced voices that are not the normal of which we hear ALLL the time. .. hurts my ears
I hope she fixes her voice for you, as well as anything else you find irritating/offensive/inauthentic/cackling. To me, she just sounded nervous. Because she was on like, live TV, and she had to remember all the info she wanted to impart, and she had to say it quickly, concisely, and smoothly, and she wasn't going to be able to edit the clip at her leisure and then post it. So maybe she sounded a tad more stressed than usual. Stress can be authentic too though.
It's called vocal fry, but you need to read about why it occurs before you judge others about it. Often women feel the need to pitch their natural voice lower to be taken more seriously (as men are) resulting in insufficient air supply at the end of sentences. That's just one reason based on social pressure which shines a powerful light on our internalized, unrecognized biases. So don't be so quick to judge and criticize others.
For reals I hate when women and gay men do that vocal fry crap. I don't care why just stop. If you want to be taken seriously like as someone above my comment said, then speak up not fry up. It sounds instead like they're lazy and just tired to use mouth so throat it out. Weird.
Wow you handled this brilliantly! Including bringing in some of your own history. Can't wait to get the book (already preordered!)
Thank you so much!

The person first, not the diagnosis. That is so sweet, I will be purchasing your book very soon for my little guy. Proud of you! ♥
