Ordered one of these and I'm so excited for it to come in. And thank you for the video! Most of the reviews I've seen were awful and made for someone looking for a smartphone.

WHAT? Facebook and Twitter access on the 3310?? You have saved me the time of ordering one, waiting for it to arrive, unboxing it, and turning it on only to be disappointed by the Trojan horse that came in the mail.

They're just web link shortcuts for the mini browser, not the actual apps running on it in the background, collecting data, and the like. Hope that helps. But yeah, it is a shame you can't delete them or hide them if you're not going to use them anyway. I've never even had a Facebook account, and have only used Twitter all of 2 or 3 times ever. A waste of space for me.

Interesting review. Enjoyed it. Would seem to be ideal, as you say, to keep in the glove box of the car just in case...

Pretty much the only thing I am using mine for. Its handy as the battery lasts forever, but means if I need to call someone and have no battery on my smart phone, I can go "old school" and make the call. Its cute, its small and easy to use, but I do honestly think it is a retro gimmick rather than a serious play at a phone release.

I have the current 3310 3G and also had the original in the early 2000's.
My only gripe is that it has spotty call quality. There is just something nice about this tiny little thing though.. Nostalgia ? More than likely but it does what I need a basic communications device to do.
If Nokia makes this in a 4G version in the US, i will be all over it.

Be aware, there are different versions of the 3310 3G! I've recently bought the 3G model, but mine is lacking the mobile store. The Snake game is a different one than seen in this video, and so are the pre isntalled games (trials which you can play 5 times, after that you have to buy the full version). Also, when I try to install apps via the browser, I can't open any? It says it doesn't have an app to open the downloaded file... Anybody else having the same version as mine?

I have both the one in the video that I bought from the official publisher and the one you mentioned from my mobile carrier. I'm unable to purchase GameLoft games on the one from the official publisher so I thought it will be fixed if I buy the phone from my mobile carrier. The phone I got is like the one you mentioned. My theory is that because the feature of buying games via SMS is no longer possible with some mobile carriers, mobile carriers made an agreement or something with HMD Global to sell alternative versions of this phone... But don't quote me on that. Also I noticed that the alternative version was made in 2019, as it says on the box.

UPDATE: Just got a reply from Nokia Customer Care regarding this:
"Regarding your inquiry, I would like to inform you that both phones are original Nokia devices and the versions are official. The difference in the Menu is coming from the different software systems. Keep in mind, that the second phone is newer and we have added some new features to it. That`s why on the second phone there is a new version of Snake and also some other games."
I wonder if there will be a 2020 version 🤔?

    • @greatcanadianmoose3965

I've owned it for a year, it does have predictive text (kinda) to write "cat" with a standard T9 keypad, you would type 222 2 7 but with the predictive text you only have to type 227 and select the word you want. It's much faster if you're unused to T9 typing, but personally I prefer normal typing.

  • @greatcanadianmoose3965

My only thing I'd like to add, the microphone is weak, not the speaker. You can add MP3s and it's a pretty strong speaker. I've owned mine for almost a whole year and I'm going to probably review it or something. Mostly because I know all the little details of the phone.

@@gregnixon1296 I can't say for certain, but I want to say at least 100, though my old flip phone which was of a lot lower quality held 500. So I'm not too sure, since not too many people text me, but 50 for sure.

Unfortunately not. It’s a “feature phone” not a smart phone. There isn’t the play store or alternative. It comes with a few apps and a couple you can download but they are very small apps like games or utilities like calculators etc.

  • @laranitasantana

I just bought this phone for my mother and it is too complicated for here to use. One of the terrible features is that when the button keys light up, the numbers cannot be seeing because the glow the same color as the buttons. Especially when I'm in an iluminated room or outside home. Also if I push the wrong buttons it goes to different menus and options. This phone is not for elderly people. The phone is very sleepery on the back.
There should be a physical button on the chasis dedicated to the volume. Not the same button that is used for other options. Don't buy this phone for your elderly parents. What a waste of time and money. BestBuy will charge me 15% restocking fee, but I don't care. I will return it or throw it on the trash
