Hi there! I just wanted to ask that if we give the exams and do the equivalency process, can we still do our degree completion from accredited universities? Please do reply. Thanks💐
Hello, How many provinces did you register after equivalency? Is it better to register before searching jobs? Also, is 10000 per month a ball park number as minimum?
Hi...thanks for such a video I just want you to please share something about how to get into dental hygienists in canada and is it worth being dental hygienist in 🇨🇦
Hello, would you recommend 1. the university as a fresh graduate route 2. practicing in India to gain experience and then applying for equivalency route 3. applying for equivalency straight away after bds route
Once you have made up your mind to move out start right away, I would choose equivalence as you are not dealing with big loan , but school also is a good option but getting more and more difficult to get in.
Hi Dr. thank you for this video. How many provinces can a dentist be licensed to practice in? Or are they only limited to have license in one province at a time. I ask because of concerns of finding a job once the NDEB is cleared, and being licensed in more than one province would give more options.
Yes you can license yourself in on or two or all the provinces .. your Ndeb certificate , which you get after completing the equivalence process gives you the freedom to register.. with any provincial body across canada 🇨🇦. You have to pay the annual fees and do the Cde hours to maintain your license there after
Sir, how much does total equivalency process cost about and also the coaching if taken for all the 5 exams? Can we take loan for the process? If taken, do we need to pay the interest right from the next month or do they give any grace period to repay the amount?
The whole think can cost around 25-50000cad$, usually people get their Pr first pic up a survival job to pay loving expenses and once you have a job and you are a Pr , Canadian banks usually give you a loan. Yes there is grace period .
Hello Doctor. I have sent my documents to NDEB and my PR is on the way. If I can take the AFK exam right after I land in Canada, how much longer will take to get my license? I mean after the AFK. thanks in advance
@@drvishaljain955 wow that's a very long time. Do you think that next two exams will require full time studying? I mean can having a transtional job hurt my exam results? I know these questions are not objective but I really appreciate your personal opinion and experience

Acj is in particularly tricky cause ... the examiners wants to see .. what would be your clinical judgment and not your knowledge... you can pic up a class but at the end the reference book is right and your experience counts ....remember it’s not a knowledge exam.. eg a brown spot’s Differential diagnosis can be melanoma , macule or amalgam tattoo in knowledge but when you are shown a picture in judgment exam and there is no amalgam filling ... choosing amalgam tattoo along with melanoma and macule ... just would get you a zero for the question, cause your answer was a wrong clinical judgment... And as I said whenever in doubt refer to books and reference articles they are always right.
Assalamualikum sir, can you plz tell that did you applied for pr before the registeration of ndeb? 2nd ,to pass all those steps there are several institutes there like doctors prep and cide.. They also charge their separate fees.. So did you take any coachings? If for these courses we have to stay in canada (only possible with pr) so will it be easier to get pr?
So if we are done with AFK and then we want to go for dental school, are there any other exams after graduating from dental school that we need to qualify on order to get our dental licence ?
Hi doctor thankyou for sharing all the information its definitely very helpful. I have a concern since I'm a fresh graduate and currently doing the equivalency process it sometimes makes me so anxious thinking I dont have much clinical experience. Can you please share the ways we can get experience in Canada after getting the license?
That’s a very good question Rabia and it’s ok to be anxious and worried it’s part of the process My advise to you is When you do your equilancy and read for Afk and acj and practice for your acs ... involve a lot of standard test books that would help you become a better and better dentist As 50-70 percent of the time in practice you will be doing fillings and crown cutting , endo access etc which you would practice in clinic after your license And anyways to maintain your license you have to do a lot of continuous education programmes soo you keep learning .. don’t stress out right now just focus on one day at time. I found this resource on internet might be helpful to you acjmentor.learnyst.com/learn

hello sir. Is it better to do msc in any specialization (e.g., perio for me) before getting the license, or should I opt for getting license first. I am very confused, but want to make a practical roadmap.
Hello Doctor. I really appreciate your efforts for this video. It is simply superb. Myself Dr. safi, an orthodontist practicing in hyderabad since 5years. I am already trying for AFK and ACJ but i have no clear idea on the preparation! I wanted you to let me know whether getting a prior PR is mandatory for one to get certified as a dentist in Canada or I can just continue my practice in hyderabad and give exams parallelly. Once i clear exams, it is then I was planning to apply for PR. Please throw some light on this. Thanks in advance.
You don’t need Pr to give exams (also remember you need Pr to get into a dds programme of you have to or plan to in future ) But I would highly recommend that you figure out your immigration.. as soon as possible as you need some visa to enter to give your exams if in canada 🇨🇦
The only reason why i am not applying for PR is tha i need to stay in canada for atleast 2years to be eligible for next renewal which is not possible since i have a pratice here in india. So i was thinking only if i crack exams, i would apply for visa but then ur point is very much valid in getting visa prior.
Hi doctor.. I just did may bds fron india and will be beginning the equivalency process soon.. Ad i have heard that we need pr to practice as a dentist in Canada.. So after completing my equivalency process. What will be the scenario i mean .. I will be able yo work there as a dentist or not?
Why not apply for a PR ? You should be able to work but a dentist has to provide you a letter of employment that's my best guess as I have rarely heard people doing equivalency and not having a PR
Hello sir Can Afk exams be cleared by self study or do I have to take any courses in Canada? If going for self study what all theory and MCQ books you recommend?
Dear doctor, could you please make a video on how you went about finding a job after the certification? Does it matter that there has been years of gap between the last employment
It doesn’t matter, most of production comes from , restorative and preventive work and that’s not highly skill demanding. First job is usually a compromise to get into the system and learn the ways, after a year your opportunities will become better and better ...
Hi sir! Thankyou for your great videos..I'm currently interning unde rguhs till dec 22..can I give the afk exam this august during internship..? I haven't found any resources to know the same..would be great if you could tell regarding the current scenario..thankyou!!

Hello Dr my question regarding the equivalency exam for specialists since you're an endodontist why didn't you go directly for the national dental specialty exam to practice as an endodontist? Also as a foreign trained dentist can I apply directly to a specialty program in a university and work as a specialist after graduation or I need to take the NBDE first?
Munzir Elsheikh Ndeb canada doesn’t count conservative dentistry and Endodontics as a speciality in endodontics as it’s a combined degree in resto and Endo , in canada Endo programmes are just Endo programmes , that’s why Endo / oral surgery are not eligible for speciality but Ortho , Perio , Prostho are. I gave the general dentist exams and got my license as a General dentist , I cannot call myself as a specialist in canada as my license is of general dentist.. but I can practise as much Endo as I can or even do Ortho implants or anything in the realm of dental dentistry. Speciality licenses are difficult to get because you have to go to the university for a bridge programme which is 6-12 months and seats are limited... while no such limitation going in for a general dentist license. You can apply directly with a foreign degree to a specially programmed into the university but due to limited seats and high demands from the local candidates, who have Canadian experience, better reference letters and credentials, the competition is too tough to score a seat in the specialty programmes.
thank you for your video, as an international dentist if I want to grow and expand knowledge further after the NDEB process how do I go about it, what are the options for say endo, ortho etc?
There are a lot , continue education courses you can do along with your practice, along with some amazing courses in South America and states along with canada where you can learn a lot and have your annual Cde points to maintain your license, also you get a tax break on your CDE expenses ... the system is designed to make you grow ...professionally.

Hello sir, can number of articles published during and after MDS help in gaining employment in Canada? Say after I clear all the equivalency exams and have 4-5 articles published during my time in India? Will it benefit the resume?
If they are real genuine research articles in reputed international journals, it might be helpful to score a job or specialization... domestic journals might not hold that value.

Yes your Afk preventable should be higher than 90 for better chances DDS fee differs in different universities It can cost anywhere between 100000- 300000$cad ... most of it is financed by Canadian banks if you are a Pr and have credit history and also you have to be a PR to get admission in dds

hi, i'm a brazilian dentist, i'm going to live in canada next year, how is the proof to validate the dentistry diploma? Is it possible to pass? and how is the patient's acceptance with the foreign dentist
Hi, heloisa You have to register yourself with the NDEB and submit your documents and get your profile approved to appear for the dental degree equivalence exams. Yes it is very possible to pass . Though it’s challenging but definitely possible. Other career dental options are to do a course become a Hyginist or dental assistant or front desk staff , all are career choices to support yourself through the dental exams Canada is a multicultural country, so you Treat Pt from across the globe, I don’t see any issues with patients acceptance , rather I feel it’s way better. I hope that answers your questions
Good question, I choose the Ndeb cause I could do it, while I continue to do my job and other stuff to make money for my everyday life and dds I would only be a student and won’t be able to work, I kept dds as last option if I would have failed all my attempts I would have joined dds if nothing else Unfortunately Ndeb doesn’t recognize endo from India as a valid specialization as we have both restorative and endo combined soo I was not eligible.

Runali Chavan if you get a speciality license nothing like it, Otherwise doing equilancy or advanced course of dds is a better choice as the chances are higher that you will get your license. Other options is to buy your own practice and be an owner, if you have the financial resources
Specialist work in their own practise where usually work is referred to them ... you can but it’s very competitive to get a teaching post in university and it usually pays less than specialist own practice

@@camilavera1774 That’s a very good question, I, would say it would be varies more from individual to individual , the more skills you have the better lifestyle you can have . As far as the trend goes , with the increasing no of dentist , the dental services are getting cheaper for the patients , soo more patients can afford services and the big pie which was shared by few dentist is now getting divided among more dentist. As it seems ,That’s government is not going to control the no of dentist, it’s going to work on demand and supply rule, right now the demand is there and no one knows when will it be saturated.
Yes there is grace period .
.. hello sir ..hope you are doing great ..Sir please make new videos.. your videos are really informative...

Hello Doctor. I have sent my documents to NDEB and my PR is on the way. If I can take the AFK exam right after I land in Canada, how much longer will take to get my license? I mean after the AFK. thanks in advance
It can take anywhere between 18 months or more , that’s my best guess.

Hi Dr. Thanks for the insight. Pls how did you prepare for your ACJ. Did you take any prep classes? and what do you recommend.

I have a concern since I'm a fresh graduate and currently doing the equivalency process it sometimes makes me so anxious thinking I dont have much clinical experience. Can you please share the ways we can get experience in Canada after getting the license?
Is there any training available for dentists e.g in hospitals or somewhere else where they can improve their practical skills. Thankyou in Advance
That’s a very good question Rabia and it’s ok to be anxious and worried it’s part of the process
My advise to you is
When you do your equilancy and read for Afk and acj and practice for your acs ... involve a lot of standard test books that would help you become a better and better dentist
As 50-70 percent of the time in practice you will be doing fillings and crown cutting , endo access etc which you would practice in clinic after your license
And anyways to maintain your license you have to do a lot of continuous education programmes soo you keep learning ..
don’t stress out right now just focus on one day at time.
I found this resource on internet might be helpful to you

Hello Dr my question regarding the equivalency exam for specialists since you're an endodontist why didn't you go directly for the national dental specialty exam to practice as an endodontist? Also as a foreign trained dentist can I apply directly to a specialty program in a university and work as a specialist after graduation or I need to take the NBDE first?
Munzir Elsheikh
Ndeb canada doesn’t count conservative dentistry and Endodontics as a speciality in endodontics as it’s a combined degree in resto and Endo , in canada Endo programmes are just Endo programmes , that’s why Endo / oral surgery are not eligible for speciality but Ortho , Perio , Prostho are.
Thanks alot for the info Doc.
thank you for your video, as an international dentist if I want to grow and expand knowledge further after the NDEB process how do I go about it, what are the options for say endo, ortho etc?
There are a lot , continue education courses you can do along with your practice, along with some amazing courses in South America and states along with canada where you can learn a lot and have your annual Cde points to maintain your license, also you get a tax break on your CDE expenses ... the system is designed to make you grow ...professionally.

@@camilavera1774
That’s a very good question,
I, would say it would be varies more from individual to individual , the more skills you have the better lifestyle you can have .
Yes definitely dentist might not be making the same as they did in the past but that’s how a capitalist economy works at the end of the day cheaper dental services saves more teeth and helps a lot more patients.
I think dentist in an average can have a good life style , until unless you are aiming for a Ferrari . Soo I am not sure what good lifestyle means to you

Ndeb has nothing to do with your immigration status, it’s a body which conducts dental exams and approves you to register as a dentist... yes you can apply and you should
@@drvishaljain955 thanks Doctor..
Really Appreciate it.
Your quick response
Hello sir, thank you for explanation
I have a doubt, on what Visa we can go to Canada for equivalency process??
Their is no visa specifically for equivalence process , it was designed for the people who move to canada on PR and wanted to persuade the same career as a dentist to give them license to practise , that’s my understanding.
You can give exams on any visa
Student/visitor or Permanent resident
But you can’t get into dds program without a valid PR.
HELLO sir, I am afraid about the document for registration. I asked you earlier about it. It is ok do notarized document in India and currently I am living in Canada. I am afraid NDEB take any action against it or not? Or they approved my document.
If you followed the rules and instructions correctly about the documents, you should be ok, you have done no wrong why should you have any action against you ??
@@drvishaljain955 because of I am living in Canada and document notorized from India so. I am confused.
@@dhruvishapatel997 I don’t think that matters, if the papers are true copy notoriety
Hi sir! I gonna start my diploma endo this year and planning to give ndeb after diploma completion ,does my diploma help in getting PR?
THANK YOU in advance
Only, if diploma is 2 years but BDS Degree is a professional one ...you get as much points as for masters degree which is second highest
@@drvishaljain955 so diploma doesn't get any points??
Sir did private clinic exprience in india adds to points and exprience letter from private clinic is valid as i am doing consultation orthodontic.
If you have zero experience in dentistry, just prepare for french to improve your score & cross the cut off. But if you have work experience like 2-3yrs, you'll get PR way easily!
Also, it doesn't matter if you have BDS, MDS, MBBS, MS or even MCh., all these fall under professional degree & it's 2nd from the top. 1st is only for PhD.
Hello Dr.
I'm a dentist from Lebanon and wishing that I could go to Canada, I have a couple of questions for you, did you apply through express entry? And if yes as a foreign dental graduate and being not equivalent to a canadian dental degree, am I considered a dentist in the express entry application?
Yes you can, you are considered on your home degree as a dentist
