Our Story:
We are six years into a seven year effort of transforming 20 acres of "Piney Grove" in Northwest Florida into our dream homestead/mini farm to be filled with animals and joy. We plan to have a variety of miniature critters on our pastures, raise free-range chickens, grow fish in our pond, garden, plant fruit and nut trees, and harvest wild game. Our goal is to escape the stresses of corporate life and embrace all that country living has to offer as we enter the next chapter of our lives. Follow along on our journey!

That is a nice machine! Once Deb gets used to it she will be knocking down that grass in no time at all. Super cool and super fun! Take care!
Thanks Justin. She put in some more seat time yesterday!
yeah its fast when mowing and its even fast too when plowing snow in winter
That thing is sick!
Congrats on the new Mower!
Thanks Logan. We've been putting some hours on it. I had trouble getting her out of the seat this past weekend so I could drive it!
Def hearing protection! I have a B2650 Kubota and after the first run I knew I had to have protection. Very nice zero turn. Can't go wrong with Kubota!
We ran it all day today....such a sweet mower. And hearing protection was used!
@@PineyGroveHomestead there nice the zds plus jack built on the front of it wich is nice
yeah they are nice plus deck is easy to remove to put a blade on to it wich kubotas has blade attachment wich mounts on the deck lift
And eye pro too! dust/bugs/misc no good for eyes.
I had a couple of Kubota dealers tell me that it is best to engage the PTO at less than half throttle and then throttle it up to full throttle to mow. They said it is easier on the internal PTO clutch. Great Mower. I have the ZD 326 60" that was replaced by the ZD 1211. It is a beast of a mower.
We wanted the 1211, but the price sky rocketed and this one came up used with 66 hours, so we jumped on it. Thanks for watching.
@@PineyGroveHomestead You will love it. For our grass in the midwest I have found the OEM Kubota blades very durable. Much more so than the aftermarket blades we tried in the past.
@@MyTechWebTV Our bahia grass is pretty coarse too. I need to lift the deck and check the blades after mowing a few acres.
Now she has her own Kubota toy, congrats Deb 👍🏻🙋🏼♂️🙂
She does, Luc. And she's really enjoying it!
Wow nice new ride Deb! I love my zeroturn. Mine is an older Toro Timecutter 55". Try turning up the rpms to cut better, and I've found if you adjust the twin sticks, to find the perfect resting position to rest your arms on the armrests, and then only your fingertips need to touch the twin sticks, a lot more comfortable for long cutting sessions.
Thanks Ross. I ran it for several hours again today. Love it! (Deb)
@@PineyGroveHomestead awesome! Glad to hear it.
Toros are a beast i have a 50 inch Timecutter gas 22 hp and it cuts anything. I do wish it was a diesel though.
Like your zero turn mower, Deb. The canopy is absolutely necessary, good you have it.
Thank you. I love it! And you are right the canopy was non-negotiable. What should I name it? (Deb)
@@PineyGroveHomestead To come up with a name, would think about how using it makes you feel, or what it reminds you of.
That's awesome!!! You definitely need to try to find the good deals when you can & save money on what you are looking for.
When do you think you will start building your house?
We put about 6 hours on it today! We're working the plans for our house now. We will share that soon.
Awesome I can't wait
had mine for 8 years and love it to death. Only issue is watch the heat level on hot days, easy fix clear the clippings and turn throttle down slightly
Thanks for the tip. The throttle came real loose this weekend and wouldn't hold steady speed. 14MM wrench and she was back in business.
There was a song released in the 70s titled: “My Kubota”.
Nice mower. I love my Kubotas. Engage the pto at lowest idle speed that doesnt stall the engine. Its better on the clutch.
Thanks for the tip! We're doing that now. Thanks for watching.
That being a used zero turn; if you haven't already checked the sharpness of your blade, you might want to. I read somewhere, original equipment blades are thinner than some after market blades, and they wear out quicker.
Glad Deb has her own Kubota now. Has she "named it" ?
Enjoy the ride - tractor hard!
GOD Bless
It had just come out of it's 50 hour service and had new blades on it. We ran it all day today and hit sticks and rocks and dirt....I'm sure they are pretty dull! Thanks for watching and commenting.
great video. my wife wants a zero turn for her next mower...i will show her this video
Life's short, get a Zero Turn! It's our first....we are believers now. Thanks for watching.
Nice mower. Might have been nicer to get closer to a 72-inch deck for your property, but I understand the difference in cost may not be warranted.
You are not wrong. We wanted a ZD1211 with 72" rear discharge but that's a unicorn right now. With pricing and supply chain issues, when this one came for sale at 1/2 the price of a new one with 66 hours, we jumped on it. Figured we could upgrade later and always get our money back out of this one. Thanks for watching.
get a blade sharpener from all American blade sharpener and put a sharp edge on those blades. it will cut much better
We have one and will be posting a video on that soon.
I have 1 too and really like it
Can everyone see how silly that roof is? She’s still in the sun! And now you’re just hitting trees all day.
It's really more beneficial for shade than you might think.
Great video! I too am looking for a used ZD1021...can I ask what you paid for it? Thanks!
$8500 used with 65 hours. Here's when we first got it: czcams.com/video/MsLYOiXt4oU/video.html
i just found out that my ZD1011 had NO grease in left front wheel housing from factory. You might wanna pop those dust caps off and check those.
tony
You mean the front casters? Ours has grease fittings....I give them a shot every other mow.
No. The housing that wheel assy fit into.. part of frame
@@tonyevett1291 I will check it out.
Trying to send a picture... you have an email I can use. The driver right side had grease. Left side bad great fitting, and dry from factory. Im replacing now. 33 hours
Engage pto at low rpm's, Save's clutch
We need to start doing that. Thanks for the tip.
You didn't splurge for the Ventrac?😀
We'd have a cab tractor first!!
Just keep it clean and grass of and under it, over heating is a major concern wogas or diesel
We clean it off with a Dewalt 20V leaf blower after each mow. Thanks for watching!
What’s the cutting width?
54" ACS deck. I pinned a comment above with the link to the complete mower review.
@@PineyGroveHomestead The Ventrac would have been a very versatile option and would handle a 72” deck nicely! My favorite combination!
@@dalebargen She's been on a Ventrac. Video here: czcams.com/video/u0D-qM0BBd8/video.html We would love to have one but Ventracs are $40K....this was $8K!!
The only problem with the 1011-1021 is that it doesn’t have the oil cooler btw I have the 1211 and I love it
We wanted the 1211 but it didn't work out. Maybe get one in the future. This runs pretty cool.
@@PineyGroveHomestead I bought mine in 2020 for $14500. 15400 with tax
@@keithhylton4631 18K now. Some dealers charging over 20k
@@PineyGroveHomestead u don’t need to engage the blades at full throttle engage them at idle it reduces wear on the the clutch. I do
@@keithhylton4631 good idea.
You are doing it wrong. I will be providing no further details.
Until Mrs. Rockhill is seen mowing with that Hustler, I think I got it right!

Lord. If I bought my wife a lawnmower as a gift, a divorce would be forthcoming, or at least I would cut off for a year, from you know what.
Take a chance!! She loves it.
