Introducing the Hyundai MOBIS’ electronic steering system, Steer By Wire (StBW).
This innovative tech allows the physical connection between steering wheel and road wheels to be mechanically free.
Instead, they are connected through wiring system.
Through its core components SFA (Steering Force Actuator) and RWA (Road Wheel Actuator),
the steering wheel and the road wheels simultaneously communicate in real time for instant response and control.
As the mechanical parts are replaced by the wire, the Steer By Wire provides more flexibility in the vehicle design.
This can allow better usage of space for the drivers and passengers.
Meet the Steer By Wire, the next generation of steering technology.

30 years ago when I saw ads about cars with power steering, I actually thought those were fully electric with no mechanical linkage. And now I'm learning they just now invented what I thought we had for decades.

자율주행과 궁극적인 미래 모빌리티 차량의 완성을 위해 반드시 필요한 Steer By Wire의 기술이 정말 놀랍습니다. 모비스의 향후 미래조향기술의 그림이 궁금해지네요.

"Road wheel actuator" you mean a steering gear. EV means inventing new terms for existing technology and charging more for the language they are manipulating.

This is worst concept in all over automotive history ever!! they saying fully redundant but what if it hacked or electrical, CAN failure? many people have seen airplane accident which occured by hydraulic loss in fly by wire system, but they do not perceive and do not make it better. make it worse instead.

Worst design idea. Ever. Will never buy a vehicle like this.

Planes have fly by wire, why cars can't be steer by wire 😂

@@gouravfromuk show me where an airplane has to deal with pedestrians. Traffic. Let's talk about environmental factors like driving in sleet and salt. Dumbest comparison..

@@gouravfromuk planes have redundancy and typically they aren't in situations where if a fault occurs they will crash straight into a building or other cars. Planes have minutes to recover failed software command directives or a reboot where a vehicle has less than milliseconds.

You can only say that until you drive one and see the difference experience vs standard.
